TM claims they never throttle youtube
Then why speedtest still can get 30mbps but youtube buffering is as slow as a snail?
*
Yesterday, YT exceptionally bad for me too...

I can get max speed also if torrent BUT very slow ftp download speed, max about 500-600kbps
FTP download from my Europe server

And I do notice that my IP hardly change even if I restart the router a few times, always get 1.9.xx.xx IP
Is it because after exceed certain bandwidth TM throttle users??
And btw I'm still using the default TM equipment. Will it be better if change the router?

TM does have FUP.
So, if you download like mad (esp during peak hours) until they notice you, who knows...

then if like this, there should be no reason why i am hard capped to 15mbps rather than 30mbps for international. guess i'll lodge a complaint then :/ I'll run a few more tests first just in case...

Go read... https://www.tm.com.my/Home/Broadband/unifi/...ion-Guides.aspx

For landed property, basically, a fibre cable needs to be connected from outside your home to a ONU (modem) in your home.

prebuffering like watch 5-10 second, then it pauses to buffer for like 6 seconds, and repeats.... this is annoying...

How come like that?

I am on entry-level VIP5 and I can stream Youtube videos at 1080p@60fps smoother than butter.

The incoming video stream is coming in at approximately 4.5Mbps and yet my lowly VIP5 can cope without buffering and stuttering.

I am just lucky, I guess. smile.gif

Sorry. I didn't realize someone in my home was updating to iOS 9.01...

No problem with Google DNS here.
If you change your DNS back to Google again, not working?

I understand that if I want to retain old telephone number, i will be charge rm1 per month. Now I would like to retain old number do i have to continue pay rm25 phone rental ?  I will be given a new phone number by the time i register for UNIFI, right?
*
To keep old PSTN tel line/number. RM1 for itemized billing.
To waive the monthly RM25 phone rental, I was given a form by TM Point to complete when I went to register for UniFi and was told to submit it to TM Point once my UniFi was installed.

By the way I suggest you keep your old line. Cheaper call rates. UniFi modem spoil/no electricity, you can still make/recv calls.
If UniFi has a problem, when you call 100 with UniFi phone, when they reset the port you will get disconnected and have to call back again.

How to solve the NTP Server error

user posted image

The solution is to set it to another NTP server by changing the IP Address of the default one to 128.199.84.169
*
frontier.innolan.net? Where did you get that IP from?
I just use time-a.nist.gov from http://tf.nist.gov/tf-cgi/servers.cgi

Hi, those having issues with downloading from Appstore due to the ultra mega slow speed, I wonder if you all have lodged complaint to MCMC before?

Has anyone got an official explanation from TM and get an answer how long it will last?
*
I just downloaded an app.
No problem. Very fast...

my opinion, i do believe they will introduce mobile data plan or magic things, they might bundle plan with iphone????....
*
But their AppStore download speed problem still exists.
It's not super slow but not as fast as it was when there was no problems...

And...?
