landed can keep existing phone number at 0 cost (no monthly rental for this number unless you use it to call out then will be charge normal rate as usual) and unifi give u one more phone number (VOIP)

high rise will have to surrender existing phone number and you only have new phone number (VOIP)

There is no need to "upgrade wires" for any plan upgrade.

if you use Streamyx before (landed house) then yea, technician will drill your walls to upgrade 'wires'...   

If you live in highrise, surely no drill.

For landed, if they use FTTH, then installer just needs to find a way for the fiber to come into your house.
If you got "passage" for the fiber to come in, then no need to drill at all.

For landed property, basically, a fibre cable needs to be connected from outside your home to a ONU (modem) in your home.
