Guys, does TM technician need to drill hole to my wall if I upgrade my broadband from Streamyx 4Mbps to Unifi VIP 20? Or they will use my existing RJ11 telephone port and make some system adjustment will do?
Thanks smile.gif

if landed then will not use back existing phone port, need to install new cable and may need to drill hole but sometime not necessary you have to work out with the technician visit your place

if high rise building then have to use back existing phone port, will not drill anything or install new cable

landed can keep existing phone number at 0 cost (no monthly rental for this number unless you use it to call out then will be charge normal rate as usual) and unifi give u one more phone number (VOIP)

high rise will have to surrender existing phone number and you only have new phone number (VOIP)

Guys, sorry for another questions which I forgot to ask earlier.
Will there be any charges if I apply Unifi VIP 20 but later I cancel the application when technician found out that they will need to drill my wall to upgrade wires?

There is no need to "upgrade wires" for any plan upgrade.

If you live in highrise, surely no drill.

For landed, if they use FTTH, then installer just needs to find a way for the fiber to come into your house.
If you got "passage" for the fiber to come in, then no need to drill at all.

Go read... https://www.tm.com.my/Home/Broadband/unifi/...ion-Guides.aspx

For landed property, basically, a fibre cable needs to be connected from outside your home to a ONU (modem) in your home.

Anyone on VIP 20 upgraded to VIP 50, are you on landed or apartment property?

As last I check wit TMpoint, 30Mbps can be install at landed and high rise building. As for 50Mbps, only landed or building not more than 5 stories can get it installed. And of course, all must be residential unit.

I register my interest at TMpoint for 30Mbps unifi at 3-Oct and they manage to install yesterday. When i check my unifi bill only, it shows RM179 (didnt show any other charges). I thought RM179 is only the broadband price exclude the must-subscribe package (ruby, aneka, etc)?

Also, my apple store app download is freaking slow with unifi sad.gif i read somewhere its common for unifi?

Now the cheapest plan is RM 179 with HyppTV already. That's why the rest of us who are early adopters feel cheated and will do a report. Must teach TM a good lesson for not messing with us, if possible let MCMC give them a summon.

Apps Store slow on UniFi, common problem and it's there for months. sweat.gif Sometimes it's OK, sometimes it's not. Use VPN if you want to download from Apps Store.
