QUOTE(LovelyPotato @ Sep 21 2015, 04:54 PM) I gave them third call, they say it is under promotion and will have to get telemarketer to call only can upgrade Hmm, the TM Sales person actually asked me whether I got call from telemarketing before. In fact I got the call before but declined at first, perhaps that's why they could proceed to process my upgrade. |

Yup I said the same thing, I said I got some call and want to consider first previously but they never follow up so I called in again. Then they say they will submit a report to marketing team to contact me again. So I think no choice gotta wait for the telemarketer to contact me now |

Asus RT-N14UHP is sold out at my hometown. There's a shop selling Asus RT-AC1200HP. Wonder if it'll work well with my unifi. But there's a 'supports unifi & maxis fiber' sticker on the box.

I did my upgrade via the TM Sales only earlier this month. Perhaps the sales team no longer have promotions now, only have to wait for Telemarketing... |

They just called me offer upgrade...
Currently VIP 10, paying around 180/month after add gst and little phone usage at home. Offered me 30mb/5mb upgrade + phone package + hypptv + some package.. for RM 199/month excluding gst and mobilephone call usage. Is this the deal people are getting? I've been struggling to fix the wireless connection after upgrading from VIP10 to Unifi30 (30Mbps). After the upgrade I am quite upset that:
1. My DIR-615 router on 802.11b/g mode could not transfer more than 25Mbps(+/-) even when .11g mode can support throughput up to 54Mbps 2. After switching the mode to 802.11b/g/n, I could get more than the upgraded speed (obviously). However: - My phone's transfer rate is doing great and pretty well done - My lappy's Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC varies from 0 to 20Mbps, but sometimes still can reach over 30Mbps, causing super unstable connection, ping can reach up to 1000m/s in SEA - Using ethernet connection on my lappy, the speed's doing what it should be. 3. Using ipv6, wireless network starts to become unstable as f, auto-disconnect and such, mostly happening at 6 - 10pm night. I have switched back to ipv4 today to check whether is it the protocol itself is acting up. Highly unlikely eh? Hopefully experts here can figure out possible problems and fixes. My speed was super stable last time on VIP10. This post has been edited by lolzcalvin: Sep 22 2015, 01:00 PM |

Should take about 3 working days.Remember to reboot your router upon confirmation. And do your speed test over wired connection. |

In practice, you are lucky if you get 50% of that, so the 25Mbps you are getting is acceptable. This post has been edited by jolmy: Sep 22 2015, 01:52 PM |

QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ Sep 22 2015, 01:00 PM) I've been struggling to fix the wireless connection after upgrading from VIP10 to Unifi30 (30Mbps). After the upgrade I am quite upset that: you must know that speed is theoretical only, you can read any router review, the speed normally not on par with the theoretical value... plus the total available bandwidth of all wireless connection for this router is unknown....that why powerful router will be state what total available bandwidth like tplink wdr4300 if not mistaken is 750mbps(300mbps for 2.4ghz and 450mbps for 5ghz spectrum)1. My DIR-615 router on 802.11b/g mode could not transfer more than 25Mbps(+/-) even when .11g mode can support throughput up to 54Mbps 2. After switching the mode to 802.11b/g/n, I could get more than the upgraded speed (obviously). My speed was super stable last time on VIP10. so at the end, change to the powerful router.... p/s: I get Hypptv anywhere plan A email for subscribing.... is it my order in process??? cannot wait any longer for 50mbps.... |
