Gonna celebrate 1 year anniversary with my iPhone next tuesday!

Regarding 6S & stuff, are you guys gonna upgrade? I most probably gonna stay for another year or two and hope that apple comes out with some thing new pls. If not i'm gonna jump ship laugh.gif

Time sure flies when you're using this phone; bought it when first launch for Malaysia (November 6th i think, but confirm first week of November) and it still feels new to me. Definitely a worthy upgrade from my 3 year old 4S. Hopefully should be able to last til 7S (hopefully by then more storage and RAM haha)

never missed any of the iphone upgrades since the 4, so yeah will definitely get it. and this time with maxis zerolution, don't have to worry about paying upfront icon_rolleyes.gif

if the design is exactly the same with ip6 then no upgrade for me. Happy with my ip6.

I'll upgrade once the form factor has changed.

I've never found any of these plans to be worth the money - better to just buy the phone cash. Odds are that if you can't dish out that much in one go, the phone is out of your budget.

Since last week Monday my iPhone 6 volume was too low even though the volume is set to max. Restarting the phone didn't solve the problem, did a force restart sleep wake button + home button then only the issue was fixed. Lol

the zerolution plan attractive part not just installment lol, it cover accidental damage and attended theft for 15/month
just that if not mistaken the ToC is to sign up with MaxisONE plan as well when you opt for zerolution plan, for this, I feel Maxis trying very hard to force their user change to MaxisONE plan.

Not upgrading here... Maybe iPhone 7. I don't have plans to jump back to Android though... too invested in the ecosystem... Sigh...

Yes, the MaxisONE plan is very expensive if you're not a heavy user of calls and SMS. RM128 for only 3GB data. Other Telcos definitely offer more value for money in terms of data quota. The problem for some (like myself) is that Maxis is the only one with reasonable coverage at my housing area sad.gif

Maxis CEO Lundal have to go, use to be Digi CEO... all data is getting expensive with Maxis and keep on pushing MaxisONE plan, the only plan gives more data(8GB?), BUT the only telco with most expensive data

anyone know how much is iPhone 6 64GB second hand? i bought since launch date 6th Nov

Good luck on that. Exactly my same thought when jumped ship to Sammy with android. Boy what a 2 years ride it was. Finally can't stand it and jumped back to iOS.
Never try, never know though. So experience it for yourself.

i prefer S5 over the newer samsung products. SD card slot and removable battery and abundance of custom roms are the reasons to buy a samsung. that's it.

plus, thanks to custom roms, it looks and functions like S6 now.

Something is draining my battery. It used to reduce only 1-3% from night till morning but now it dropped almost 20%. Not even a single chat from any messaging apps. Any idea?

Maybe try resetting your phone (off and on) and see if problem persist

Hi all sifus,

May i noe what's the difference between backing up iphone in itunes and importing photos/vidoes to 'photos' app for mac? Maybe one can suggest what exactly the backup does in the itunes?

Once backup done in itunes i don c any photos/videos hence i manually open photos app and import all photos/videos from my i6.

Yeah, the MYR drop more than 20% against the USD compared to last year so price increase is in tandem with that. Sigh... the woes of us here in Bolehland, heh heh...

Hah!! Won't happen. Since I was a kid, I've observed the ringgit deteriorate and stabilize, but never return to past values against most of the major currencies. The best we can hope for is for 4.0, and even that is probably wishful thinking. I won't ever go back down to less than 3.8.

3.6 - 3.8 is possible, but maybe not in the near future. It was pegged at 3.8 back in 97/98 and eventually came back down to 3.2 - 3.3. Unfortunately it's not going to take months. It'll take years.

Guys, a few users here (and non-users) are facing problems downloading/updating apps in the App Store via Unifi. Can you guys try it out and see if you guys can download an app? You guys can start off by trying to download a small app/game (2mb-10mb) and see if it downloads. If it does, try downloading a larger app/game (500mb-1gb). Please report your finding in this thread. Please provide as much information as possible. The very least you guys can do is provide your findings as such;

Small app: Successful (fast, average speed, really slow) / Fail (Stuck at waiting, keeps circling, etc)

Big app: Successful (fast, average speed, really slow) / Fail (Stuck at waiting, keeps circling, etc)

ISP : Streamyx, Maxis Fibre, Unifi, etc

If Unifi is the culprit (the slow one), please report via their Twitter account at @TMConnects. We have to report simultaneously. They will actually read our Twitter posts so just decribe to them the problem. Thanks

they are aware i mean TM, just haven't resolve...

it is not always slow, sometime ok, sometime not ok, you may try in different time

News app is back.... After i change region back to malaysia... If still in us it will prompt mag say app not available atm

Things i like after ios9

1. No customized shortcut for pull up control center but can customize the assistive touch.... Ok laaaa
2. Multitasking cards so much faster to switch to diff app amd faster to close all the app as well... But lag in open the multitask though

Things i dont like
1. Notification settings where last time those got notification is grouped so mich easier to see which is on and which is not. Now all categorized into 1 long list....

Ps: should this be in ios9 discussion thread or here as i uaing ip6+ .... Dilemma 😅

U just gonna need a nano sim, apple id (remember to register first time on your iPhone if u plan on using without credit card option), and a good combination of tempered glass + casing then you're good to go. thumbup.gif

I wasted sooo much on my iPhone 5s accessories and im not wasting any for my iPhone 6 Plus. tongue.gif

Currently im just using MR.DIY RM8.90 tempered glass, and used Spigen Neo Hybrid & Spigen Ultra Hybrid cases which i bought from forumer for quite a good price. nod.gif

so suddenly my phone does not vibrate after updated to ios9....

ios9 has any new settings on vibrating??

I think this depend individual...

I used iPhone 4 for 3 years and last year I changed to Samsung Note 3 due to big screen as what I looking for. During that time, iPhone is still yet to be release for iPhone 6 plus.

After 1 year for N3, I'm personally more prefer to IOS instead of Android, probably due to easy to use, and I'm still not familiar with N3 some of functions, sometime make me headache such as Contacts

Encounter issued where some of my contacts has disappear or name is not correct that what I saved, I totally no idea where/how it go and unable to find it out (maybe my phone got problem) hmm.gif

Again, I need to re-save for those number. Even some contacts numbers saved by Gmail/SIM card/Whatapps/Wechat.... when making call, I need to select which apps to call... more headache doh.gif (maybe I dont know how to use)

Above mentioned only for my individual opinion smile.gif

after 2 days of ios9... i don see any battery save diff... same usage pattern same % drop for me... think positively at least not getting worse smile.gif

text font diff... ok for me,

colourful siri..well i didnt use it much anyway, by the way, i just change it to brithish female sound, it sound more "sexy" for me.

Assistive touch now enable me to customize the number of function to add. a welcome feature

I dont know whether it can be trusted or not, but this is the battery life of my 6+ on iOS 9. 100% low power mode. I think can safely squeezed up to 3 to 4 hours usage or more. sweat.gif thumbup.gif

p/s: i dont see any difference in terms low power on / off. I still got all notification, etc. sweat.gif

Don't think it's possible unless u enabled the backup to icloud feature. If u have enabled that feature earlier on, what you can do is to restore the chat history for the settings of whatsapp.

It's a hit and miss, different people have different experiences with the shops. I guess that depends on what problem you have and who you engage with.

However, if you bought it from Apple online store, log a ticket with Apple online first, they will route the request for either collection from post or head to Apple authorized service center.

Almost a year of usage or already past a year? If it's still under warranty and you gotten it on contract from a telco, then you need to go back to the telco, which can also be a pain. If it's not under warranty, then yea, you can send it to whichever authorized shop most convenient to you.

Camera autofocus failed? I heard the camera is still under warranty even if the warranty for the phone expires because Apple acknowledge that the camera for certain batches are faulty.

Less than 1 year. Around 10 months.

Guess 6s is out. So they give new unit cheaper than all the shipping and repair cost from Singapore. Furthermore all waiting 6s, 6+ no sales.

anyone else experienced auto shut down when weather is too cold?

went to melbourne last week and was at this twelve apostle, not sure if it's because of the weather (it was around 6 deg iinm, and very windy) but my phone straight turned off when it had 4x% battery.

tried turning on with power button, tried both power and home button. both can't.

but once i plug in charger, it turned on. no prob until now already.

what could be the problem?

don't think cold weather is a problem.

try to calibrate your battery. charge to full and do hard reset.

yeah can still downgrade. just download the iOS 8.4.1 firmware, go to iTunes, hold 'Shift' (Windows) and click on 'Restore'. then choose the firmware you downloaded. can only choose the last previous firmware which is iOS 8.4.1, cannot choose previous versions. and have to act quick; once the signing window close on Apple's side, then you cannot downgrade anymore. and i don't think they update out of the box yet, my bet is they're still on iOS 8.4 or 8.4.1

The only thing I'm noticing is when the weather is hot, the phone gets hot easily and drains more battery.

Lithium ion batteries I think quite temperamental haha. In colder condition, charge capacity is slightly reduced. (I found out when the Tesla Model S battery was like that) But I don't really get why charge capacity is reduced if the phone is warm though.

There are some iPhone 6 64GB going for about RM2600 now which I believe should be about 1k cheaper than the 6s. I wonder if it's still worth it especially considering the bump from 1GB to 2GB of RAM in the 6s. Such dilemma. hmm.gif

that's just their selling price. buyers won't pay that much.

i'm guessing 2.7~2.9 since buyers are willing to offer 2.3~2.5 for 64gb with half year warranty left.

then the warranty will continue your old phone's warranty.

Interesting read about the effects of cold and hot weather on battery. Quite sure there is eventually some side effect, probably too minimal to notice. Used my 6 plus in Seoul earlier this year and it was around 5 degrees Celsius in the evenings, no problems whatsoever, didn't notice any drops in battery performance. Not sure about below zero. But isn't heat the one factor which could affect battery life? Anyone tried using the 6 in Dubai during summer?

Your device is designed to perform well in a wide range of ambient temperatures, with 62° to 72° F (16° to 22° C) as the ideal comfort zone. OTA 9.0.2 crashed my Ip6+ and i have to use itunes to update it with a download file of 2.13 GB. Same thing happened to my previous 9.0 update. Anybody else facing the same problem?

put the phone through airplane mode last night with 40% batery and today wake up with zero battery..

If you're asking about iPhone 6 to 6 Plus, then yes, I have an office mate who regretted coz he wanted the size, but thereafter he claimed the 6 Plus performance is marginally slower and difficult to handle single-handed. He did like the screen though. So it depends on individual preference and what you're looking for.

Then given the reviews I doubt anyone would regret upgrading from the 6 Plus to 6S Plus. The 2GB RAM and A9 chip is chewing up benchmarks like nobody's business..

Hey guys I got myself a set of iphone 6+ 64gb version. I check online its eligible for isight camera replacement. Anyway so far i never encounter blur symptom, so will they accept my phone or need wait till it blur only can replace?? May i know it is anywhere Mac city or Machines can replace instantly or need to wait? They replace new set or refurbished ?

PS: I bought my iphone when i was studying in Australia. But i check local malaysia apple store website its eligible. So everything is good to go? TQVM

If it's AU set then nope the replacement won't work if you're in Malaysia. You need to send it back to any Apple Store or Genius Bar back in AU. Warranty only applies in the country where the phone is bought.

Or you can try asking QCD at berjaya Times Square see if they accept AU set. I remember once I claim my iPod touch there but that was years ago.

Just went machines 1U to check about the isight replacement program. They accept any phone as long as its fall under the isight replacement program serial number batch. However, they will need to check if ur camera really got issue, like mine although its eligible and fall under the batch of serial number but mine was lucky doesnt have any blur issue so they say no need replace. Hope it helps

My wife's iPhone 6 was sent yesterday to Apple Service in KL for warranty claim. The microphone was found to be problematic. Quite lucky though as the warranty will end by next month..

That's precisely what stopped me from going for the 6 Plus, back in December - because it was just too big and long for me to use, compared with the more perfectly-sized iPhone 6. ohmy.gif

Not forgetting the fact that the 6 Plus can be a problem for us guys who like to place our phones in the pocket. Unlike ladies (my wife wants to go for the 6S Plus, btw), who at least have the option to have the phone kept in their handbag! laugh.gif

I send it to machine mid valley branch, it is at outside of mid valley another building can say. They say fastest one week slowest 2 week. And since my phone warranty expire at 19/10/2015. So I guess I entitled to another extra 3 month warranty when I go collect it then. Anyway , it's replace under iSight camera replacement program. Hope the refurnished set are in good condition.

is related to the wallpaper, apparently the new wallpaper that came with IOS9 had issue with the latest iTunes.

after i change to the default or my own personal picture as wallpaper...voila....iTunes able to detect my apps from my Iphone.

Dunno why recently my 6plus have been acting weirdly. Constant screen freeze, whatsapp lags like frame by frame, data suddenly can't connect although showing 4G and phone heating up interminently.

I did OTA update to 9.0.1. Maybe should consider a clean restore.

hi guys,

encountered serious problem here. I cant find the phone icon in the itunes, im 100% sure that I already select Trust when plug into the USB.

also my itunes is the latest version.

how i did was uninstall everything about apple (itunes, quicktime, bonjour, etc)

then install the latest itunes, then its fine icon_idea.gif

Same issue as mine. Keep auto toggle. Must be sensor inside rosak.
I claim it together with my camera issue. Got a new unit after 2 working days.

It wasn't the case of the 6 Plus when I was still using it in iOS 9.0.2. I found that the battery usage was about the same.

i bought 6s(64GB) and 6s+(16GB) last saturday (17 Oct). detected one problem. tested on both iphone that i have and also tested on iphone 6s in the phone shops. two three shop

the problem is when going to magnification slider thru the setting , i can move the magnifying slider, but when i exit, then press the button to show recent runing apps and go to the magnifying slider from there, the slider wont move.

The iPhone 6 actually has better and more stable performance than the 6 Plus, truth be told. Just that you'll miss out on optical image stabilization, bigger screen and better battery life.

To be honest, Apple screwed us... The 6 and 6 Plus should already come with 2GB of RAM... using the 6 Plus was a bit of a bother coz it lags and wasn't smooth... The 6S feels more like it - though for now I would agree with you that the added features are a bit more gimmicky than useful...

6 plus masuk ICU...i sight camera lens replacement programme, take me 14 working days...

saw a remark there: replacement if possible...as it is, no box, no accessories, phone only...warranty will continue from original date of purchase of 90 days (whichever is longer)

not sure the replacement is referring to the i sight lense or the phone?

after 7 months of using iphone 6, today 1 realize my phone have bendgate issue, I thought it doesn't happen to iphone 6.

I'm using silicone casing for my iphone 6 since day 1 so I never realize when the phone bent.

any idea if it's fixable?

2.does 2 dead pixel on screen covers by warranty?

3.where is nearest apple service center in klang valley? (unit from apple online store msia)

4.do i need to call in before i send the phone for warranty?

If it's obvious you can see the dead pixel then it should be covered.

There are various reasons for the flare.
1) Your friend's lens have better coating to reduce the flare (I think this would be the more unlikely than other reasons)
2) What same light source? If it's the sun, the intensity of the glare each hour/day is different. Clouds movement/shade affects as well.
3) A slight variance in angle can also affect/produce/reduce the flare
4) Camera settings/white balance/exposure/focal length/etc is different?

Yeah, the Machines in KLCC also has an in-house Service Provider for you to send your iPhone to. And what happened until your phone actually bent like that, by the way? shocking.gif

Go for official service centers. Last time i went to those shops offering repair services in digital mall to fix my home button, they unscrupulously swapped my iPhone 4 screen for some cheap quality China made one...

coating? you mean the manufacturing process coating? if yes then its purely luck then...as i googled many have this lens flare issue but definitely not the other ip6 i tried on. its like perfect, even i point it directly at a spotlight, no lens flare!

i pointed it near a spot light. candle light produce lens flare too. but it does not happen to fluorescent light though. the light must be intense.

I'm using the Spigen silicone case since day 1, suddenly realize my phone was bent when I'm buying new casing. It's not visible when I'm using the casing so I never realize it happened sweat.gif

brought my iphone to mac city service center in 1utama for warranty. after signing the papers, got a shocked at the terms and conditions. since when they charge Rm50-Rm100 even for in warranty unit? ohmy.gif

please look for point no 4.

shouldn't have charged you for that money except when it's a out of warranty service.

for the 6, so far it still feels new and great. can't say the same for my 3 year old 4S though haha. coming in the third year the power button got stuck and random scuffs appear around the body (can blame the casing for that though, now more careful with the casing i use). if i'm getting the 7 or 7S, i may just go to Taiwan for the wrapping service that i've always wanted to try. combo that with IMOS glass SP, home button ring and voila.

i think mainly because i'm still at ios 8, the same iOS that it came with from factory. Had lots of friends on iOS 9 with problems.

from what i gathered from the forumers here, there used to be one in Sg Wang, but it's closed already. other than that there's no shop that has been personally tested by any forumer here..

The latest ultra thin TPU is considered as a good alternative for wrapping already. Got naked feeling.
360 degree protection, thin and light weight besides being transparent and cheap.
Wrapping service, they install the wrapping material and then directly use a pen knife to cut the material on the phone. Unless they are really careful there is a risk there.

There is a wrapping service which look very professional in pavilion. In front of Harvey Norman.
But seriously in the life of me, I do not see the benefit of wrapping. It doesn't provide any knock and drop protection. Might as well get a thin air casing.

Wrapping your iPhone definitely doesn't seem like a good idea to me too. Eye candy maybe, but it really can't protect much for an occasionally-careless person like myself who tends to drop the phone just like that (happened in the office yesterday!). rclxub.gif

There is a wrapping service which look very professional in pavilion. In front of Harvey Norman.
But seriously in the life of me, I do not see the benefit of wrapping. It doesn't provide any knock and drop protection. Might as well get a thin air casing.

planning on using long term bro, i would use my phones for 2-3 years before changing as the changes in features and technology should be significant enough with that kind of gap. and i will try to keep it in the best shape possible for the next owner to enjoy. so yeah must take good care of it until 7 or 7S (most likely 7S) comes along

it depends, some people careless worry of phone drop

for me, i never drop my iphone since iphone 4/4S/5/5S/6 and now 6S biggrin.gif but i still use thin case... sometime prevent is better than cure, i use old iphone naked, because i dont care much anymore biggrin.gif

or some people maybe dont really bother or sad when phone drop, then is ok to go naked...

is more to personal preference, not really spoil the fun or not

I did clear wrapping, covering my sides, top and bottom. They got other designs too like football, cars, movies etc. water resistant? I can't guarantee u that bro. It's just covering ur phone.

Yup same here, from 3GS never drop my phone ever except on the bed 😜 But it's not wrong to be protective. So that when we sell it, the buyer will be happy to see the phone in such condition.

not sure actually as i got this info based on the accessory thread. so the wrapping shop is still there? when was the last time you went and how is the quality of the wrapping? are you using a 6/6+/6S/6S+? if you are, how did they cover the corners?

hmm seems alright, though the one in Taiwan (Mos Coat) looks much nicer.. may try it out in the future. yeah planning on using a case on it so i don't mind if it peels on expected parts. how much did it cost?

but if u use rubber or tpu case then its ok to use, but if its tight then it will start peeling off. 6s i did for rm60 and 6s+ for rm70.

Er...what kinda of glass did you get for your phone? Normal and even cheap glass screen protectors wont make the left and right side screen less responsive.

Oh.. I did post this type of screen protector on the 6s /6s+ thread but didnt try it out myself. If it affects the sensitivify of the touch screen, then there is no point using it.

If bring to outside repairman, it will void warranty and you might not know whether in the future u are "lucky enough" that another part spoil (eg. home button)

So might as well just go to Digi and top up to get a refurbished set from them and your warranty is still valid

Just to share the manufacturing defect i encountered with my ip6s weeks ago. The circle mark underneath the screen display. It can't be wipe off and appear to be a perfect round circle underneath the screen.

So, i just sent in to Machines & got it replaced within 5 days with a brand new set. Anyone else encounter the same or am the only 'lucky' one?

The button does work, it just that the left and right of the screen will be less responsive. It is useful, the button, but it is freaking annoyed the hell out of my wife. lol.

does ur iphone 6+ freezess on and off at ios 9.1 ?

i was wondering if it's ios 9.1 problem or my phone problem. i had to reset (home + power) quite often.

hope someone can advise.

Did u jailbreak before? Maybe u can put ur phone into dfu mode and restore again.

i have one more question .. is there any app that let us edit document (word/pdf ) and import to iphone mail ? ..

i have few doc at my flash drive evo , connect with iphone and use ms word/excel iphone app to edit .. but i cant import it to iphone mail to send .. is there any way ?

you'll have to put the pdf in iCloud drive / dropbox / google drive. then you can hold in the compose email window and tap 'add attachments'.
