Hi guys, need some help here. My iPhone has some loud rattling noise coming from the back of the iPhone, like really loud. Also, the Touch ID seems to fail most of the time after almost a year of usage. The coating on it must have been worn off.

Thus, I'm thinking of sending it back to Apple Authorized Shop to service my phone. Any shop to recommend?

Thank you!
*
Check here. You got choices of Machines, QCD, Maccity..etc
https://locate.apple.com/my/en/

It's a hit and miss, different people have different experiences with the shops. I guess that depends on what problem you have and who you engage with.

However, if you bought it from Apple online store, log a ticket with Apple online first, they will route the request for either collection from post or head to Apple authorized service center.

Hmmm pretty sad. My iphone 6 plus started to feel slow with the latest 9.2, fresh clean wipe. After I disable all the Siri Search. Sluggish performance is gone.

I guess iphone 6 plus is under-powered. Even Iphone 6 was having this slowness but not as noticeable compared with 6 plus.

Seeing 6s/6s plus, Antutu benchmark showing it's wayyyy above the rest.

how to disable the siri search?

Whoops.. It's Spotlight search. Apologies. doh.gif My brain somehow remembers it as Siri search.

General -> Spotlight search (under Search results) once you disable, the search won't display any result. Which I don't use anyway.

Anyone update to 9.3? How's the performance so far?

Somehow it feels much snappier. It was laggy 9.2.1.

Need to use longer to be certain.

Is there any performance difference for iOS 9.3.1 for 6 plus
Currently still in 9.0.2 wink.gif

Facebook and google map load / app start time quite slow.

9.3.1 looks ok for me. I disabled the spotlight search, maybe that helps.

QUOTE(LovelyPotato @ Apr 8 2016, 09:20 AM)
My iPhone 6 battery percentage seemed to have some issue, it turn off by itself before reaching 0%, sometime at 30+% turn off already. Plugging into charger turn on with 19% most of the time, then in 1 min become 26% and then charge normally up to 100%.

I tried restoring the phone to default iOS without beta but doesn't seemed to have helped. However I did a battery capacity check with some software and found that the battery capacity is now at 1700 from 1751 original capacity. (Which I think is extremely healthy, but calibration issue, problem begin after one of the beta update for 9.3)

Is there any solution to fix this? Or do I have to replace the battery with a new one?

My iPhone warranty has expired on February, roughly how much if  I were to replace it in original Apple service center in Mid Valley? I quoted from outside shop for around 150~250.
*
Refer here. It says RM492 for battery replacement. I think it's including 6% GST

Will try it later and see
My last gen 6 plus is sluggish especially in loading / starting apps as others before me have pointed out

My 6s+ npo. Super smooth
*
Forgot, I did two things when things slow down for me using iphone 6+

1) Settings -> General -> Spotlight search (turn off everything even Siri suggestions)

2) Settings -> General -> Background app refresh off
What I believe is, save battery usage since apps doesn't work background and memory/CPU usage while another app gets open.
Downside is you lose "background app refresh" capability.

Let me know if it helps for you. It did for me. I nearly wanted to upgrade to 6s + when 6+ got sluggish.

Just did the 2 suggestions you mentioned. And rebooted the phone just in case.
Starting the FB app (for the 1st time) still takes a good 7 secs.
How about you?
*
Uhm... sorry if you had an impression it helps speed things up. It doesn't.

It helps in minimizing slowness & sluggishness.

i'll go for the 6+ 64, as i dun need that extras by the 'S'.. smile.gif

From an iPhone 6+ user. unless you are getting some wide gaps in prices. Go for iPhone 6s+. It's not just because of the features of 3D touch, faster touchID.

It's the larger memory (and speed) that is very important. Despite iOS getting updated, can feel the lagginess and slowness issue for iPhone 6+.

The "iPhone smoothness" feel just isn't there. It's pretty much from day one.

For non-plus iPhone, it's okay to take S or non S versions.

Quite true as the ip6+ only running on 1gb ram for a 5.5 inch screen.

If not lagging now, it will start to lag in future updates. The ip6s+ has 2gb ram, so quite future proof for future updates
*
Not future proofing also. now itself a bit laggy (not the iPhone smoothness) and loading memory intensive website, Safari/Chrome browser will crash. (remedy is reload again, or start closing the other apps via multitask window which I think system does it when it's reloading, I'm probably doing it manually).

Just want to share my personal experience, it's not widely mentioned by others. I seen couple of forumers mention slowness before and some moved to ip6s+.

Oh you mean the ip6s+ also facing lag issues?

Apologies if it was confusing. Everything was only referring to ip6+. ip6s+ is a beast. Seriously avoid ip6+, that's my summary.

Do you guys have this "square frame" after installing a fully cover tempered glass on? **this only happens for black iphone and not visible on white..

this must be due to design of tempered glass...if your screen dont have this square frame please share brand and model of your tempered glass...
*
6s using hoda, installed in macstudio. 6+ using IMOS (can get the forumers here to install). Both full tempered glass, 2.5D / 3D respectively.

Just bought from Epicentre RM1469 for iPhone 6 32GB Gold for my mum. I guess pretty good price for it. Cheaper RM30 from Machines and Switch, hmm funny.

She is not going to use much features anyway. Cant find a decent Android phone at around the same price.

Her older Android phone was Samsung Ace3 I think, with that screen it was wow for her. Hahah rclxms.gif

So is it still worth buying the Iphone 6 32GB @ RM1499?
*
to me, it's matter whether you are okay with the features. Like my mum wanted a bigger screen, smooth animations, came from a 4GB Android phone. iphone 6 32GB was a massive upgrade to her.

At the same time, at RM1499, you don't really have much other options. (not I found any when I was searching for alternative)

Lifespan, iOS going to be supported for couple of years, anywhere 3 years from now, is good in my books.

my mom is the one using it .. her current phone was iphone 4 ... thinking to upgrade it ( budget RM1.7k or less would be nice ) , after a while done some survey , the best candidate was iphone 6 .. the most important thing to her is bigger screen size , bigger storage , good camera for photo and video , video call , 4g connection and whatsapp .. not even a facebook apps or games  laugh.gif  .. just a basic things anyway

she planned to get it before 18th september 2017 ( her birthday )

Same same, bought my mum the phone. I think don't need to wait cause it's always a waiting game. Yes the prices will go down, but not immediately after a new iPhone is released. You probably have to wait a little while more to the less than RM1.7k sweet spot.

Furthermore, don't need the latest and greatest, so long a few apps which my mum only uses is still working. Good enough.

Don't compare newer iPhones, compare at that price given (< RM1.7k) that you need it within the next few months and options available in the market. I didn't dive into Android cause that probably got like 2-3 years lifespan which I think 6 will be longer and smoother experience.
