I'm Citibank's card holder since 2008. I had Choice and Clear cards (already cancelled) and now am holding its Rewards Platinum. IMHO, it may have something to do with the time/period you attach to the bank.

Of course, "giving business" to them is important too. I did balance transfer for a total of about RM10k to Citibank and now I need to pay back the principle+interest on monthly basis to them in 3 years.

if it makes you feel any better, these kind of 'gifts' aren't really 'gifts' as well.

places like these give complimentary trial as part of their 'marketing'. i once signed up for complimentary facial trial through maybank...

Make sure you are holding CTB VS and not AMEX as CTB have revoked the free limousine ride for AMEX.

The redemption counter is after you clear the custom before arrival gate. I doubt that the guard will allow you to enter the gate but you could try and feedback here.

Hi guys.. I want to ask.. It is possible to downgrade the credit card.. I was tricked to upgrade my credit card last time, when I'm actually rarely use the credit card. Now, I'm feel regret because the annual fee is a lot more expensive and I can't cancel the credit card either because there're still many debt in it..

saw annual fee rm150 charged, called up, waived.

was told i qualified with current promo with x spending in y months...

happy enough.

Yup. I said I cant spend that much, then CS passed me to waiver department, then just said they will waive out of good will.

Good deal. Seems like its kinda difficult to obtain a waiver from CiTi though.

When I cancelled a couple of months ago, the CS keep saying mine is not entitled for waiver, its a Cash Back Plat.

When I asked what is the criteria, was just told they have a system to analyze and says system shows not eligible, asks to take personal loan or downgrade

call in to request for a waiver, I wouldn't use the card after the annual fee has been charged as it signals that you've accepted this term and as such may be liable to pay a pro rated annual fee even if you proceed with cancellation

ask them to fly kite.

that's what I did bro, cancelled and not a peep from them haha.

But more like I went and fly kite instead since the sole purpose of the card was to utilize 5% cashback on petrol

Citi is full of crap now. Just found out that if the redeemed item need to be sent to Sabah/Sarawak, you'll be charged with postage fees.

called hotline number.. customer service call me back and can waive rm636 annual fees.. phew.. if not i gonna cancel liao i told them
