Received an early birthday gift from Citibank, first time ever. What a surprise!

I'm Citibank's card holder since 2008. I had Choice and Clear cards (already cancelled) and now am holding its Rewards Platinum. IMHO, it may have something to do with the time/period you attach to the bank.

Of course, "giving business" to them is important too. I did balance transfer for a total of about RM10k to Citibank and now I need to pay back the principle+interest on monthly basis to them in 3 years.

Just found out from Citibank official website that, they have abolished the maximum liability of RM250 bore by the card holder due to the loss/theft/unauthorised use of your card, effective 9 March 2017.

This implies that, the unfortunate card holder may have to pay 100% of the total expenses charged to the card due to loss/theft/unauthorised use.

In such case, we citibank card holder must exercise 100% due diligence in keeping our cards safe from loss/theft/unauthorised use. Else, change to another bank that is still practicing "the maximum liability of RM250".
