what is the benefit difference between Crystal Eco and solo? my apartment has a master filter from the management (by bactfree) and the water quality is quite ok. Will the solo alone ok for me as drinking water?

Master Filters are mainly to reduce sediments and rust only upto 5 micron (for sand type)

However, there are other chemicals and heavy metals in our water that a regular POE cant filter. No filter is able to claim 100% removal of heavy metals and chemicals, most only claim able to REDUCE upto 80-99%, so the difference between a cheap and expensive filter is that the percentage of reduction is higher and also the number of contaminants that it is able to reduce.

A master filter is only able to pro-long the life of the drinking filter (prevent it from clogging fast) and is unable to improve water quality significantly.

difference between a branded and a cheap filter

From my survey previously on deciding what filter to sell in my shop

1) Reliability
As posted previously, some cheap filters label how good they are but in fact they are not.
Example : Labeled carbon block but it is actually granular carbon only


2) Filtration Quality
Big companies do invest on R & D to produce good filters but OEM brand they just make it cheap, filter cartridge could look big but inside is hollow.

3) After Sales Service
Most OEM products do not have onsite service, warranty is given by the seller not importer. After few years, may be no parts or they discontinued the model, u have to buy new filter

The difference is not direct sell or non direct sell or OEM or what ever.
The important things are the quality, technology & reliability.
If 1 cost RM100 & 1 cost RM1000, there will be reason behind it. Technology research, scientists research all need money.

what other brand like coway or cukcoo in the market.. can suggest me?

I checked on the brand, claim from korea filter using nano positive filter similar to cuckoo, not some cheap product from CHINA i guess, hence selling at a high price. However, if the price is RM 4999 why not just get cuckoo instead

In KL the brand is OWNER not sure whether it is the same as in east malaysia, it is OEM product hence could have different brands

Anyone using buffalo brand water purifier?

Hi guys,

Need some help here. I am currently staying in a condo using an old Amway water filter (the one with UV light and coming to end of life). I will need to buy a completely new if I need to change. There is a cheap external filter that's installed to the meter outside my unit.

1. Is the external filter (small cheap one attached to the input) useless? Personally I think it is useless because I am staying in a condo. Need expert opinion here.

2. Have you guys heard of the Intact brand? Saw it in one of the Juscos, but I have not seen the review of it in this thread.

Edited thread due to just realized eSpring is Amway... my bad...

Need to look for a water filter system (internal) that's good for condo use. Any good advises welcomed! Thanks.
