QUOTE(qiuweng @ Apr 28 2017, 09:46 AM) Things to compare when you shop for a water filter 1) technology it uses for filtration -> what contaminats it can remove? 2) methods to kill off bacteria & viruses 3) does the water still contain beneficial minerals 4) company background 5) maintenance for company background....example: panasonic, elba more more trustly compare to others??like cuckoo, coway.....etc may i right??

QUOTE(Terbulance @ May 2 2017, 11:26 AM) For alkaline water filter, they are not focused on filtering the contaminants, but focusing on 'alkaline is good for health'. All alkaline water filters will have a carbon filter to filter the contaminants, however it is a very inefficient carbon filter. Hence it is very bad at removing contaminants, bacteria and viruses. 3M, eSpring or other cheap, not certified water filter. ok....tq tq tq if espring...need to boil our-self....

another question is espring... http://www.amway.com/at-home/eSpring/technologycompare to others brand....espring technology only have ULTRAVIOLET TECHNOLOGY and CARBON FILTER TECHNOLOGY ULTRAVIOLET TECHNOLOGY ---The eSpring® Water Purifier is unique when compared to other in-home purifiers because it contains an all-in-one cartridge with an ultraviolet (UV) lamp inside a carbon-block filter* to treat water without chemicals. The UV bulb exposes water to powerful UV doses up 80 millijoules (units of measure) per square centimeter. The Water Purifier also reduces more than 140 potential health-effect contaminants that may be present in drinking water with its multistage, pressed carbon-block filter. CARBON FILTER TECHNOLOGY --The eSpring® System uses a patented, multi-stage carbon block that: Reduces chlorine taste and odor Traps particulates to boost water clarity Effectively reduces over 140 possible health-effect contaminants **how can it reduces over 140 possible health-effect contaminants only using CARBON FILTER TECHNOLOGY????

QUOTE(Terbulance @ May 4 2017, 04:39 PM) The technology developed by Amway is different from others. Hence one carbon filter is enough while other makers need few filters, and still not able to filter 140 contaminants. I do not know in details how it can filter the contaminants other than what I have explained to you, but the important thing is it is proven and certified by NSF (3rd party non-profit organisation) that it can filter the stated 140 contaminants effectively. How the technology was developed? Sorry to say I am not one of the scientists who made it. If you are still skeptical, please find more information on the internet.

QUOTE(oyching88 @ May 4 2017, 05:07 PM) 140 contaminants removals include the UV light to kill bacteria and virus. This is a very good question, why need 3 or 6 filters if only 1 can do the job? Many RO or alkaline water system have many filters, but the only real filter that remove contaminants is only 1,and it's rather very small filter. The others filters have other functions like adding minerals, add alkaline levels, ionising and etc... [attachmentid=8784951] This is comparison of eSpring cartridge with another X brand Cxxxx filter which used to remove contaminants, the size tells all the stories. tq tq tq
