Lol bro.. I am thinking are you joking here? This figure is somehow comparing with the Axia.. Even the City also cannot achieve this FC.

Btw, pure city driving here too.. 20km distance (daily would be 40+ km), from Puchong to TTDI, extremely heavy traffic. crawling with average speed 25km/h, 1 hr drive to reach destination. Each refuel around rm 80, last me for +- 500km..

Dude go and check the average FC of the 2.5 Camry Hybrid. That is what i call good la.

Share your research with us. What made you choose Mazda 3? Getting the GL or HS?

Have you considered about the new 2016 Civic?

I am actually quite firmed to place order for the new M3 HS, until I saw the new Civic. It looks equally sporty with good features as well.

Having this dilemma now, both are too good.
*
The reason why i choose Mazda - Design / Safety feature / The feel of driving ( Test drive 3 times from CBU to CKD ) / most important thing is my partner like it thumbup.gif nod.gif

The car i compare with is Cerato & Civic.

Cerato - Test drive but never like it and the dashboard design really not up to my expectation ( my own opinion ), out after first test drive.

Civic( current version ) - Test Drive, I like the feeling of driving which is very comfortable & more space compare to Mazda3 but i really dont like the design and the price is around 136K for HS hmm.gif, at the same time my partner said she dont like this Civic.

at the end i choose Mazda 3 HS laugh.gif

Side note : Yes, i do some research on Civic 2016 but my heart tell me Mazda 3 nod.gif

Yes you are right. You should go get the Toyota Camry Hybrid. As I said only a hybrid will meet your expectation.

cant get a definte answer for this

personally i did not do coating, cause it doesnt protect from stone chips (anyone claim it does is either cheating or bluffing)
i would suggest to coat your car if it is arctic white for PAINT PROTECTION & minor scratches

i've heard review for all 3 coatings, they are all not too bad
not sure what is the package u mentioned above

other options u can consider is Sierra Blue Flame treatment (1600-1800) last time i heard

Because I want the car easy to maintain and won't build any water mark and minor scratches on the body and keep the color as shine as after 3 or 5 years. brows.gif

So want to seek anyone has done coating or not and comment on their coat.

Thanks.

Granted it's not a Mazda 3, but it's still the same SA-G engine.

Regarding your attached image, where do you get it from? If from europe/america, different story as their first fill will be probably different from ours.

I've asked someone in the industry from car detailing. His advise is to do a good coat preferably ceramic type as longer lasting.

If you're concerned about minor scratches and small dots caused by flying debris, just do a partial transparent wrap at the front fenders, bumpers and headlights as these are the places where 90% of the scratches will accumulate from on road driving. The bonnet is not really necessary, but if you're paranoid, can do a half wrap. Good quality clear wrap with good workmanship will hide the wrap edges really well that can be difficult to spot.

Go ask around the shops for their advice. See their work procedures. But no point paying more than RM2500 just for the sake of coat as they'll deteriorate from the sun and normal wear/tear from driving down the years.

So the skyactiv thingie nothing to shout about. FC seems very normal. If can get 5-6L /100km city drive then its great

We had a Prius in KL, used to do around 5.5L/100km mostly city driving. Driving that car for extended periods of time was depressing though laugh.gif

I see. That's good to know. I've always assumed that it'd be standard across all markets.

Hey all!

I've finally decided to go with Mazda 3! rclxms.gif

I got a couple of questions

1) Is the HS spec really worth it? Any GL owners got regret? tongue.gif

2) There is optional accs which is SkyTint Film for RM1900.00, is this a good tint and worth it or should I go outside to do tinted?

3) Are there any special offers/gifts from your SA, especially right now is year-end. I asked at Johor bahru showroom (permas branch), no rebate or anything sweat.gif , only thing they offer is free leather seat upgrades if I'm buying GL

Thanks guys, hope to join your club soon!! flex.gif

Congrats on your decision. Yes, HS spec is really worth it. See this list:

Addition for HS over GL.
1 Larger 215/45R18 UHP tyres vs 205/60R16
2 Auto climate single zone aircond
3 Cruise Control
4 Auto dimming rear view mirror
5 Auto Windshield wiper
6 Full Leather
7 Power seat for driver
8 Navigation system
9 Paddle Shifters
10 Auto Headlights
11 Bi-Xenon , auto Levelling
12 LED tail lamp
13 Smart Keyless entry
14 Head up display
15 Adaptive Front-Lighting System(AFS)
16 High Beam Control System (HBC)
17 Smart City Brake System (SCBS)
18 Rear Vehicle Monitoring System (RVM)
19 Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
20 Leather wrap Steering wheel
21 Daytime running LED lights
22 Better looking control knobs
23 Beep sound when locking/unlocking

Got any GL owner regret? Sure I'm one of them. Everyday!

From what I heard the Skytint film is nothing special. Better get your own tint outside.

There isn't much rebate for Mazda 3 as it is already competitively priced. If you press hard you may get RM500-RM1K rebate from some SA.

Well look at it this way. The GL is the same engine and same body as the HS. All the important safety features including reverse camera and USB/bluetooth entertainment/telephony system are included in the GL. The extra gadgets are nice but not necessary for you to enjoy your car. Besides you should get slightly better performance and FC than the HS due to lighter rims and lighter body (due to less gadgets). And don't forget you saved RM15K.

You mentioned 500km.. is that from full tank until refuel lights turn on?
Im also on pure city driving, 20km per day with medium to high traffic. Avg speed is 21km/h... im getting 9.5 - 10.8l/100km avg FC.

Thanks but the RM15K saved did not give me any satisfaction. I'll rather have all the HS gadgets. Now I find that it is impossible or prohibitively expensive to add back any HS feature. I still encourage anybody who can afford the HS to go for it and forget about saving RM15K or you'll end up like me. sad.gif

Thank you for your reply! notworthy.gif

Yes all those items listed are quite fancy but I can live without fancy such as cruise control, auto windshield wiper, powerseat, paddle shifters etc.

What really caught my eye and make me consider the HS is the safety features such as Smart City Brake System (SCBS), Rear Vehicle Monitoring System (RVM), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS). These are quite useful features,. especially the SCBS. Has anyone tried SCBS and how well it works? hmm.gif

Crawled through the forum and google can't get much info on the SkyTint film that Mazda is offering for RM1900, any members here installed Skytint for their Mazda? How is it?

Very hard to get a test drive in Johor bahru, the branch at permas jaya (Azam Motors) only got 1 test car and the other branch Rias Auto don't even have a test car. yawn.gif

Are you driving HS or GL? Just wondering if the difference in FC with toonny could be due to difference specs.
