Hi M3 CKD owners. After getting my M3 HS for 3 months, i have been monitoring my FC everytime i repump full tank.

I am averaging 9.7l per 100km for purely city driving only.. Drive slowly, minimum load (driver only), hardly rev RPM high, and normal city drive with minor traffic.. not really major traffic and even use ISTOP everytime.

Based on full tank there are 4 quarters in total in the fuel gauge. I realise im always getting on average:
Q4 = 150km
Q3 = 75 km
Q2 = 75km
Q1 = 75km

Hence i usually get less than 400km on a full tank of petrol @ 9.7l per 100km which is not what i expected.

Currently at 2700 km mileage already.

Any owners can comment on my FC or share similar stats for same city driving exp?
Im quite dissapointed with the FC and want to know if its normal or something not right with my ride.

I can't comment much since I only get my car for a month and only pump 3 times but definitely your fc is very high.

I always pump the petrol when it drop to Q1 (when I still have the full bar at Q1 level). With that I clocked at about 450km and refill to full at about 35 litters of petrol

Did you set the setting of sync the average fuel consumption with trip A? You can then track your fc per tank. It reset together when you reset your trip A. I averagely get 8.1 - 8.3 l/100km from the reading
*
how i track is whenever i pump full tank.. i will reset trip A and Trip B.
Trip A to measure total KM for 1 tank.
Trip B to measure every Q1/2/3/4.
I also reset the FC info.
I will reset all together once fuel tank is pumped and ready to leave the petrol station.
Is this method accurate or Is there a better way to track using the monitoring feature at the MZD center console?
Whenever i see the info for balance KM to go before petrol is ZERO, it goes down faster than the total KM in Trip A. (EG: after full tank it says i can go 580km) but Trip A will show 380 km total when close to ZERO fuel left).

Yes im thinking my FC is too high given my driving style and road conditions.

How many litre normally you pump to full?
*
Based on balance in the tank, i pump around 38 liters to full tank.

Friend, full tank have 51 litre.
So you judge your FC base on 38 litre only.
*
yes im judging on roughly 38L only... but its still calcualted as average FC which is 9.7l per 100km..
Whether its 38L or 51L petrol used, the calcualtion is the same because im not comparing distance travelled.
Of course 51L will bring me further than 38L, but im talking about FC.

xxAriesxx , average of 9.7 km per liter for pure city driving is consider not too bad. I give u 2 tips:

1. try to brake less by anticipating the traffic ahead of u.
2. increase your tyre pressure to at least 230 kpa.
*
thanks aimeh and sootienann.
I was looking through the fuel consumption monitoring and when car is moving consumption is <9l/100km.. but when its on standstill or stopped.. consumption shoots up around 20+l/100km. i use ISTOP.

So of course the more stops and brakes, fuel consumption will go up.. since on idle mode the FC is high then i guess it brings up the total FC average to 9.7l/100km for me.

Lol bro.. I am thinking are you joking here? This figure is somehow comparing with the Axia.. Even the City also cannot achieve this FC.

Btw, pure city driving here too.. 20km distance (daily would be 40+ km), from Puchong to TTDI, extremely heavy traffic. crawling with average speed 25km/h, 1 hr drive to reach destination. Each refuel around rm 80, last me for +- 500km..
*
You mentioned 500km.. is that from full tank until refuel lights turn on?
Im also on pure city driving, 20km per day with medium to high traffic. Avg speed is 21km/h... im getting 9.5 - 10.8l/100km avg FC.

Are you driving HS or GL? Just wondering if the difference in FC with toonny could be due to difference specs.
*
I dont think there is difference between HS and GL since its the same engine.
Im driving the HS btw.

Also, the DRL's go off when the gear selector is in "park". smile.gif

speaking of lights, does anyones headlights flutter when going through rough roads? i.e giving the impression that the projector lamps are loose?

I believe its due to the AFS but just wanna check if this is normal. smile.gif

I experience it too when go on bumpy roads or when turning.. can see the light beam not steady. but still not sure if its the AFS you mentioned.
