No test drive nvm la. I assure you it drives very well. Let me put it this way, I'm on the wrong side of 50 and driving the Mazda 3 makes me feel young again.  biggrin.gif

Nice to know that there are others on the wrong side of 50 driving the Mazda 3.
Makes me feel half my age.

Would feel even younger if they had offered the Mazda 3 CKD in soul red cool2.gif

The SCBS kicked-in and for the first time I'm frighten due to weird noise and strange vibration, as the ABS and Brake was activated. A few incidents such as other vehicles or motorcycles cut lane and distance is too close, the SCBS also kicked-in. Freaked out my colleagues.. LOL..

*
Can confirm it worked for me too, three days after I got my car. Had just turned right into a road when a motorcycle cut across in front of the car, from left to right. No way I could see it coming. The strange vibration startled me too....I thought the brakes on my new 'wife' had given in sweat.gif

Mine kicked in when I was too close to the toll gate. I have a bad habit of going quickly on the smart tag lane.

Wouldn't have bang it, but I guess it was too close for the sensor's comfort. A little annoying. Gave my passenger's a scare too.

I have seen plenty of Mazdas on the road with a special font for the number plate. Do new Mazda cars now come with the special font by default? Or can get the font outside at car accessories shop? Thanks.
*
I think many do that, not just Mazda owners. Usually at car accessory shops as I think they're not really legal?

Even when i requested for my number plate to stick the alphabets & number closer together, they say can't because it isn't legal. Have to do it outside.

Just got to know got new reason for suspension with kruk kruk noise, the technician say strut bearing issue. But doesn't seem logical as the strut bearing is there to smooth the steering when the wheels turn rclxub.gif

u sendiri go Toyota website see. the Hybrid's 2.5l petrol engine makes 160 PS, the 2.0NA Camry makes 167 PS.

Before you go "it makes 205 PS with the Hybrid system", let me just remind you that you are the one who highlighted it is has 2.5l engine when another member said it is a Hybrid powertrain.

1) I wonder is it hard to move mazda 3 front number plate placement similar to mazda 6? hmm.gif I feel the plate placement on mazda 3 spoil the design of the front yawn.gif

2) What type of security did you guys buy for your car? Is steering and pedal lock effective at all or doesn't really make a difference. Hope can recommend some good security, I don't want to lose my car after few months of getting it cry.gif

You can probably get accessory shop to change for you but may not be easy as I don't see any flat surface there.

Steering lock not very safe as steering wheel can easily be cut with hacksaw. Pedal lock is safer but not foolproof also. I heard Locktech type pedal lock has been compromised. Installing an aftermarket alarm will void electrical warranty.

No lock is foolproof but any lock will slow down the thief and hopefully make him go for an easier target. Fortunately Mazda cars are not hot cars for thieves.

dude, HYBRID meant for less fc. thus score more fuel economy than non hybrid car.
nothing to do with capacity. to say larger 2.5L engine for hybrid car can save more fuel than 2.0L non hybrid car is plain joke.
and hybrid never produce more hp than normal car. again hybrid mean for fuel saving not generate more power.
HYBRID not TURBO.

Why don't you enlighten me instead of resorting to insults?

Why does the Hybrid 2.5l petrol engine produce less power than the 2.0l?

Ppl say it's a hybrid of coz save fuel, u sendiri yang bring up it has a larger engine than Mazda3.

Stewpid, its detuned to a lower HP since there is a electric motor to support it. Hybrid is all about saving fuel, surely they will detune the engine to a lower hp to save fuel and put more of the load on the electric motor.

Common sense. U want to compare u go and see the old camry 2.5 produce how much HP.

Exactly, it is downtuned for fuel economy. So why you mentioned the fact that it is 2.5l in the first place when it is not producing 2.5l power? Why you go and compare a Hybrid system to a conventional 2.0NA?

So does the old 2.5l Camry have better FC than the Skyactiv 2.0?

Are you driving HS or GL? Just wondering if the difference in FC with toonny could be due to difference specs.
*
I dont think there is difference between HS and GL since its the same engine.
Im driving the HS btw.

Hi guys,

After a month having the car, yet everyday I enjoy my driving and learning new trickes everyday. I have few queries see if anyone can help me out

1) I have this thinkin running in my mind all the time when I-stop kicks in. Is turning off the engine and starting back does it bring any harm to the car in the long run. Bcoz since young we are tought that off ur aircond, ur lights before turning on/off the engine, so I am abit sceptical on the long run. I did find a petition on Malaysia Mazda 3 CBU owners where they claim it has damaged their car.

2) the radio, how do we set it to show the name of the station ie. Hitz or Mix FM. mine just show the numbers.

3) The I-stop at times do not blink green or show up. Is that normal?

4) I will share few tricks I learn, you could click the voice command and say 'DIM THE SCREEN' and the screen goes off completely! Or you can say 'DIM THE SCREEN AND SHOW THE CLOCK' it goes off but only the clock appears. I find that cool.

Hope you guys could share a few tricks here too. Thanks!
