Never driven a Persona before, but I think the M3's NVH is super.

Do note that road/tyre noise has a lot to do with choice of tyres as well.

My previous car, I changed from the stock RE050A to F1 A2, my word what a world of difference.

QUOTE(Aizat2402 @ Nov 7 2015, 11:54 PM)
Is it the same as current fc? Cause the SA did explain to me one is current fc that depends on how hard we hit the gas. The figures change all the time. But the other one is average fc which is the 6L/100km, but it is showing 25.5L/100km. Now im confused tongue.gif
*
2 FC readings are shown in the info screen - Current and Average.

Current shows your immediate FC - it'll be --- when coasting with 0% throttle, it'll be double-digits when accelerating hard.

Average shows the average FC from the last reset, and this is the number you should be paying more attention to.
As it shows the average FC, the more you drive it from the last reset, the more accurate it'll be.
If you've just reset it and get stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic immediately, then you'll hit double-digits FC.
But after 50-100kms, it'll normalize and show more realistic numbers.

Guys, I need some advice. I got my M3 HS for a few weeks now. Due for the 1k service.

My complains is that I'm not getting the FC that I read on here. My avg is still 10.0L/100km and for some reason I cant get the blindspot alert to work.

Is this something to look into because I'm abit worried.
*
10L is on the high side but not unusual. Take it for one tank of highway cruising, if you're still getting 10, then something is likely wrong.

QUOTE(dogdog133 @ Nov 17 2015, 08:51 PM)
may I ask 1000km service will have change the engine oil?

I'm driving gl spec may I ask anyone change to hid light?and anyone have install uv headlamp protector?
*
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the manual might say not to change oil at 1000km?
Either way, my oil wasn't changed at 1000km - only changed at 10000km.

Some quarters say not to change oil so early because at the factory, they put some additives into the engine oil to help with the break-in.
By flushing the engine oil at 1000km, you flush out the additives too.
But this story is as debatable as the whole concept of breaking in.
Personally, I'd go back to the manual to see what the manufacturer recommends.

Not recommended as the Navi sucks. hahaha... While apps such as Google Maps or Waze allows you to key in "Sunway Pyramid", the Navi in Mazda requires you to enter full address, in eg as below.
*
I'm sure you can search via POI, if it's a significant landmark?

QUOTE(black_Zer0 @ Nov 19 2015, 04:29 PM)
I find it cool that it actually pairs with the HUD. Wasn't expecting to see the arrows & what not there.

But map wise, definitely can't beat google maps. It won't be as updated. I was heading to KLIA 2, and it wasn't in the map.
*
I like the distance countdown on the HUD as you approach a turn laugh.gif

Re: changing engine oil at 1000km, which I touched on a few pages back, this is what I was referring to about the additives.

Granted it's not a Mazda 3, but it's still the same SA-G engine.

So the skyactiv thingie nothing to shout about. FC seems very normal. If can get 5-6L /100km city drive then its great
*
We had a Prius in KL, used to do around 5.5L/100km mostly city driving. Driving that car for extended periods of time was depressing though laugh.gif

Regarding your attached image, where do you get it from? If from europe/america, different story as their first fill will be probably different from ours.

*
I see. That's good to know. I've always assumed that it'd be standard across all markets.

too bad it doesn't have dual zone air con. for me its an important feature because I am not cold tolerant

Do cars in that price range typically have dual zone air con anyway?

Hi guys,

After a month having the car, yet everyday I enjoy my driving and learning new trickes everyday. I have few queries see if anyone can help me out

1) I have this thinkin running in my mind all the time when I-stop kicks in. Is turning off the engine and starting back does it bring any harm to the car in the long run. Bcoz since young we are tought that off ur aircond, ur lights before turning on/off the engine, so I am abit sceptical on the long run. I did find a petition on Malaysia Mazda 3 CBU owners where they claim it has damaged their car.

2) the radio, how do we set it to show the name of the station ie. Hitz or Mix FM. mine just show the numbers.

3) The I-stop at times do not blink green or show up. Is that normal?

4) I will share few tricks I learn, you could click the voice command and say 'DIM THE SCREEN' and the screen goes off completely! Or you can say 'DIM THE SCREEN AND SHOW THE CLOCK' it goes off but only the clock appears. I find that cool.

Hope you guys could share a few tricks here too. Thanks!
*
1) I would like to think that Mazda has done sufficient engineering to ensure robust performance from its engines over the course of 100,000kms at least. I do wonder how people in Malaysia use i-stop when they have their A/C on almost permanently.

For me, i-stop works well when I have the A/C turned off. I can keep the engine off for a good 2-3 minutes.
When it is on, I find that my engine only cuts off for less than a minute. Then it restarts itself when the compressor kicks in.

2) Not sure.

3) Normal in my experience. Usually happens when the system has not charged up enough.

4) That's good to know. I normally do it manually if I have to smile.gif

Not really a trick, but holding the Nav+Back+Mute buttons will reset your MZD. Had to do it on a couple of occasions when the Nav absolutely refused to start (just showed me a compass).

7) Just follow the recommended 10K service. In Australia the interval for Mazda 3 is 20K km/ 1year
*
Incorrect. Our interval here is 10k or 1 year.

Our 3s are also tuned to run on RON91.

Hey guys, any of you used the Mazda wifi function before?? what does it do, i tried using with my phone tethering but can't connect, some other forums i read said it needs some special structure of passcode to work(bug)? anybody actually tried it out??

And any of you updated your mazda MMS before?? north america site but it updates the mazda system supposedly, gonna try it out soon

Update MMS or navigation maps? If it's the latter, I've done it on mine. Just unplug the SD card from the car, plug it into my laptop and launch the Toolbox.

Sales assistant told me the same thing when i got my car, can surf FB.
GPS got 1 show traffic option, i think its show where got jam so if connect wifi, you can see like google or waze which road is jam etc... if got show which road got speed cam then best hahaha, they sales fella told me DIY update via SD card found in your arm rest compartment
*
Be careful what you wish for. Our maps come with camera info.
About 1 junction away, it'll prompt you about the camera. Half a junction away another prompt. One last prompt just before you pass the junction.
Sometimes it spams you with a lot of information laugh.gif

"Red light and speed camera ahead."
"You are over the speed limit. Reduce your speed."

Hey bros. can somebody tell me how does the computer calculate the range everytime we refuel?
*
I think it's based on quantity of fuel in tank measured against your average FC.

WOW you guys share alots .. haha

Oh ya, the spare for the M3 is space saver, not full size.
So please  don't high speed with it. Or should I say, please don't high speed on any type of spare tyre, as I would say most of the tyre pressure will be not enough.
*
I believe all space saver spares come with a warning to not drive above a certain speed (80km/h I think?).

Plus, good habit to check your spare's tyre pressure every month.

Hi, Just to share issue encountered yesterday.
In sudden MZD screen cannot read USB & also GPS, only show compass. Try to plug/unplug USB stick & GPS SD card few time also can't help. Issue resolve after reset the MZD by pressing mute+GPS+Back button. So far running fine.
Anyone facing this issue before?
*
QUOTE(ahnicnic @ Feb 1 2016, 01:20 PM)
I experience once wif MZD restart itself while driving  sweat.gif
*
Both issues faced before. I've also experienced the following:
- MZD screen completely down. Needed a reset to fix it.
- MZD restarted midway through a call.
- USB music went back to track #1 when starting the car (usually happens after 5-10 starts).

I think it's a software issue. Mine's still on the original V27 when I got my car in 2014.

My MX-5 running V56 or whatever's newest never had any of these problems.

QUOTE(keropi88 @ Feb 2 2016, 11:00 AM)
Can u show us ur cars photo of the cut hole ? Sorry this is my first time hearing ppl cut hole for the smart tag I can't imagine how it looks like ... So it only interfere with smart tag la ? GPS ok ?
Btw how come they still interfere one , tot in 3M website , they stated non metal based , won't interfere with GPS and tag . Can I claim warranty or even more extreme, a refund if I can't get what they promised ?

Another questions is ... Let's say the tint is good for smart tag , so u guys stick the smart tag on the windscreen ? The sticker won't damage the tint ?
*
Smart tag uses infrared to communicate. 3M Crystalline has very good IR rejection.
When I put on my 3M tints in 2011, I was hoping for smart tag to switch to RFID to eliminate the interference. Until today, still waiting sweat.gif

QUOTE(keropi88 @ Feb 2 2016, 01:52 PM)
If it happened that someone with itchy hand slammed the smart tag , will the sticker pull the tint film out as well ? Haha
*
I once used cello tape to hold my road tax to the windscreen (it was peeling at the edges).
When I tried to remove it to slap on a new road tax, the adhesive peeled out the tint with it as well.
So I guess it is likely that the sticker will pull the tint film out as well.
