Plan to put on affin 4.3% fd ...

Affin accepts IBG from other banks.

i did this before...Affin defines "fresh" as long as the fund is not "older" than 3 days after IBG from Maybank SA -> Affin SA.

of course you need to have Affin SA (savings account) before IBG can be done. thumbup.gif

OCBC also same, "fresh"-ness no longer than 3 days.

Today went to HSBC to enquire on the HSBC 5% promo. Was told that I must maintain RM10 in their "saving" account n if I close the account, I need to request banker cheque to get back the RM10 as they won't refund through cash. N I will charged for the banker cheque RM5 + GST. So, means no matter how I will need to pay them the "admin fee" (my balance in the Acc) to close the account.

really?

in the Kota Kemuning branch, whenever i ask if 1 day old money in savings account can be considered fresh funds, the staff macam dont want to answer directly. When i keep persisting for an answer, she asked, "why not you use banker's cheque?"

I said banker's cheque ma fan, have to line up in other banks... then she replied "If the money enters the account today, it's only considered fresh funds today. Tomorrow cannot"

So I said "I'll use RENTAS then" she terus diam

Dont know why they dont want to treat IBG money as "fresh". Only want banker's cheque

When the FD matures, you can request to put the FD's money (withdraw FD), and saving account's money (close
saving account) on a banker's check.

Actually it is a current account, not saving account. The minimum balance in current account is RM 5.00.

If your FD deposit is less than RM 30K, a monthly charge RM 10 will apply.

Hope this helps..

Haha, bcoz of the RM10 monthly charges if balance less than RM30k. N I don drink coffee. Hehe.. N the interest rate offer by HSBC not worth to keep RM30k in there if other bank can offer better rate. If without the monthly fee, I'm willing to keep it..

RM250k in 11 mths FD @3.8% pa will make you RM8707 end of tenure, while RM250k in 1year OCBC 4.2%pa FD minus 1 month will make you RM9625, the difference is RM918, and the current 999 gold price is RM180/g at Poh Kong, 3g is only worth RM540.

You will trade RM918 lesser interest for a 3g gold worth RM540, your call brows.gif

My card application alone is still pending since 4 June...the balance transfer plan itself requires another application...
