QUOTE(dEviLs @ Jun 17 2015, 06:23 PM) Received a call from pbb setapak branch. They told me this coming Saturday they are having some sort of appreciation event and is offering 4.38% 12m fd promo. No casa requirement and min fund only 10. Anyone get similar offer from other branch ? its "up to" 4.38% p.a, or flat rate 4.38% pa?

Sorry noob question here, 1st time fixed deposit user here, what is per annum means? For CIMB latest fixed deposit 3.9% 3 months thingy, it stated 3.9% 3 months per annum. So eg: if I put RM50k in it for 3 months, after 3 months I would get extra of 50x0.039= RM1950 right? And after 3 months I can withdraw all of it out right?

QUOTE(nitehawk @ Jun 17 2015, 08:12 AM) In your case, did you withdraw cash from the saving account and open the FD or did the bank made transfer from your saving and open the FD? Bank cant make the transfer without account holder approval or signature. I withdrew from my saving account.

can someone explain in greater detail what does fresh fund typically mean? lets say i have 2 bank accounts - mbb and uob. i do an online transfer of $ from mbb to uob and get uob to issue me a banker's cheque and which i go present to mbb. all this done in a span of 3 days. will mbb consider it as fresh fund or certain amount of time needs to lapse first? if so, how long usually?
does it make a difference if instead of banker's cheque - i re-transfer online to maybank after a week from uob. and then go to counter to use it as fresh fund for fd placement. would this also work?
thanks!
