Thank you very much for the prompt response, some technician say only need 4 cables can install, or it is better to go for 7 cables? Thank you.

if you pull power from DB to outdoor unit then you only need 4 cables from outdoor to indoor. If the power supply pulled to indoor then you need 7 cables.

Hi all sifus, recently I want to install a Panasonic 4 way 3HP inverter cassette at my living room. My question is, is it true that the power source need to be at the outdoor unit instead of indoor unit? As the installer ask me to pull another 3 cable to outdoor (Total become 7 cables).

NX series? is power to ODU, see the 3-wire section diagram https://www.panasonic.com/my/air-solutions/...s-standard.html

Hi guys,

Need opinion for 1hp aircond for under Rm800. Will just install in guest room so rarely use

TCL 1hp inverter elite series TAC-09CSD/XA81I 5stars
vs
Aux 1hp inverter c series 4 stars

Which one more worth it? Not that much review for TCL but it has a 5 stars rating

Seldom use no need inverter just get normal standard aircon.

Don’t think got non inverter AUX
Just get the basic TCL ~600 bucks
I’ve got 3 of those TCL working well and cool.

I was considering the TCL Fresh Air series but the price is on the high side.

1) ability to remove odor in the room
- Logically I don't see how this would work. You want a closed system where the air in the room stays the same while being purified by charcoal filter either from your aircond or a purifier unit. Everytime you introduce fresh air in, the air will be sucked into the aircond unit and needs to be purified by the charcoal filter which does not guarantee odour free air. It is much better to let the air in the room stay constant without "fresh" air and let the charcoal filters do their work.

2) maintain the humidity level of the room (because suck moisture fresh air outside the room)
- Might be better to have humidifier device in your room or some airconds may have humidifying function?

3) power consumption of the aircon (since this aircon suck and exhaust air, will it consume more power to maintain cool air)?
- Definitely will consume more power. You want your room to stay at constant temperature so that the inverter unit will slow down the compressor just enough to maintain temperature. If you introduce fresh air, the hot air now needs to be cooled down which then makes the compressor works harder......you get the idea smile.gif

The plus point I see with such designs is that if you have health conditions such as asthma or difficulty breathing in a small space for long hours (you hardly open close doors) or if your house ventillation is really terrible that you would need "fresh" air in the room.

Hi, not sure if u still interested with this TCL Fresh In AC,
I notice there is a sales of TCL Fresh In 2.0 when pass by TCL Sunway Pyramid store last week.

RM1399 for 1 HP

So far, I only see similar pricing on Lazada/Shopee for this model during big sales like 6.6

You are comparing based on what reasons ? Price ? Performance ? Energy consumption ? Quality ?

If you understood how inverter works then you will know the only difference is only when inverter kicked in.

For normal usage between 1-2hours daily, inverter and non inverter probably yeild very minimal difference.

Hi Sifu, I need some advice. Currently, I’m using a Daikin non-inverter 2.5HP aircon for the living room. It worked fine for the first year, but starting from the second year, it keeps breaking down. I’ve already repaired it three times, and more than RM1000 has flown away. Now it’s broken again.

I’m thinking of changing to a new unit. Should I go for 2.0HP, or stick with 2.5HP? The 2.5HP is cold enough for the living room, but my electricity bill shoots up fast. My house is a standard double-storey terrace with an open dry kitchen concept.

Normally, I only turn it on for about 2 to 4 hours per day during weekends. Also, which brand would you recommend? I’m really not happy with Daikin — the unit im using keeps giving me problems, and the design seems faulty. Some plastic parts inside even melted.

I'm not an expert but just sharing my experience. Got myself Panasonic Inverter 5-star energy rating air-conds for my whole apartment.

Reliability so far so good going on for 3 years, just normal servicing. More importantly are the savings on electricity bills.

if you go for a 2.0HP unit in an open space like living room, the AC still have to work harder, and you cannot experience as much energy saving benefit. If currently 2.5HP provide just the right cooling, maintain it.
I suggest you do calculation base on your living room size to determine how much HP is needed to cool the area effectively. Also, set the temperature just enough to feel comfortable, if constantly set to lower temp it surely eat up electricity.

Guys how do u clean those dust stuck at the at the compressor? I tried using vacuum but the vacuum head bent a bit of the fins. Brush with hard bristles also bent the fins a bit. A bit inconvenient to use water to jet spray it due to being located at balcony.
