Thanks for your feedback and experience. I've pick and choose certain appliances and it works. So far my LG DD Inverter front load washer is doing great, recommend my friend to get it, she's happy too. And my Samsung fridge, 2 units of dual door (top freezer) and 1 side by side also going strong. That being said, a property I take care of has the Samsung front load washer/dryer combo is total thrash.. haha.. and when I search.. it is common issue that plagues the Samsung.

Given your feedback, and what ALL several air con technician tell me, avoid Korean a/c is confirmsureplusstampandchop.

That's nice of you. But yeah, try and salvage since already paid for it, but unless he DIY, its not worth the manpower to fix it. These days I just suggest throw it out the window and buy a China TCL a/c cause it's dirt cheap. I gotten 3 units of it earlier this year.. see it tahan lasak or not.

honestly, just ordered two tcl today, my concern is if its silent enough to my standards. on paper, the decibel specs dont look nice, lowest being 27dB. silent for me means, inaudible. the only one that met that tier of silence is mitsubishi first generation, advertised at 19dB. its truly quiet. however, that silence didn't last long, over time you hear the mechanical wear. and for its price, not worth it. my hitachi was actually perfect if it didnt have a fatal flaw. the hitachi never had any mechanical noise, or tic tic tic sorta sounds. but it had an annoying high pitch whine. replacing motor didn't help. otherwise, i'd not ever buy anything else.

ive given enough chances to korean brands (LG, samsung mainly) over the years, across many products. china -- i believe they will focus on improving their products than improving their marketing. samsung is already a renowned scandalous capitalist company in korea as it is, and so, i wouldn't be surprised if they'd pull off marketing gimmicks to sell their bs. ngl, i am a victim of it, i believe they started this "windfree" aircon trend. its a complete scam. the gotcha is, you cannot put it on quiet mode if you want windfree. the controller logic is also buggy, its unheard of for me. logical flaws 100%. if they take this path with ac, wouldn't it make sense that this applies to their other products too?

I have been using Samsung and LG air-conditioning for years. Heck, I'm not even saying they are better than Japanese but I haven't had any major problem with any ac unit that I have been using for the past 20 years.

LoL... 20 years ago Japanese product would last your lifetime. Where are they now? Made in China...

It's easy to see what problem you have with all these brands.

I won't bet my money on TCL being quiet, considered it's the cheapest 1HP a/c in the entire market. Panasonic deluxe inverter with aero wings is the quietest A/C I experienced. But don't get me started on the cooling power, I get mad talking about it because the stupid thing ignores your remote and just wants to save power. It CAN be cold AF, but it refuses to do so. A/C like York and Hisense just gives you whatever you command is.

Lucky you. All a/c technicians I met with told me Korean a/c can't get spare parts (I always ask them about a/c brands because I bought quite a lot), so back to the manufacturer you go to get slaughtered. Recently I had a Haier blower fan rosak, I just ordered on Shopee for less than RM100, original part as well. That being said Haier also not very lasak for me. I've got 4 units used since 2013... 1 failed, 1 blower rosak. Replaced the failed one with a Hisense inverter cause it was cheap.

Hisense seems to be going strong for me. York cooling king... since 2009 still refuse to die and cold AF.

My moms Haeir Inverter also very problematic. Already twice the board on the outdoor unit fried. Then the blower started to slow down alot. Highest speed was like speed 1, got that replaced too. All this was done under the 3 year warranty but right after the warranty, not working again. This time we got fed up, thinking of changing to Daikin.

Not sure about Samsung but LG could be problematic when it comes to parts.

I had an experience trying to diy repair an old fridge (not LG but Haier iirc). Somehow it had an LG compressor. Starter broke and trying to source the starter is so troublesome. Was told I had to take pictures of the compressor model and order the part which could take weeks.

Luckily I googled and found that I can just about use imitation part which work just fine. Managed to find a shop with an old uncle who have experience and he told me what to do with the imitation part. It only cost a few bucks.

It's about finding the right people most of the time.

If I had all the money in the world, I’ll probably buy an Acson. Because I know it’ll be supported longer than the imports in terms of spare parts, and definitely got expertise in Malaysia to fix it. They are after all the original Cooling King ma… and yes I am ancient

Otherwise I just get the cheapest China major brand, other than Haier. AUX pushing their inverters aggressively. Can try.

York cooling king and current York Johnson control is totally different. I have both. York cooling king back then was made by OYL in Malaysia. York Johnson control made in panda land -- they are not top tier like Gree, Midea, Haier, Hisense, TCL, Aux. Gree is the terpaling agung in panda land.

My AC remote isn’t working. I tested the remote with another AC unit, and it works fine, so it’s not a remote issue. The problem is likely with the AC’s infrared sensor. Do you know if this is repairable? I currently have to turn it on manually using the switch.

My AC is a Panasonic.

My personal review on Acsonman Premier Plus Service from Acson.

For 2x wall-mounted indoor and outdoor units, the original cost was RM500, but with promotional discount and redeemed points through the app, it came down to RM290.

The service was excellent and the team called ahead before arriving to my house. The technicans carried out thorough cleaning - remove the blower wheel fan and power washed it. They cleaned up everything before leaving and even helped tidy up my external wiring for one of the outdoor units.

It’s on the pricier side but the package also includes a 60 days workmanship guarantee, which gives me the extra peace of mind.
