Always leaking water and not functioning after installation.

My house was wired is such way using earth as signal.. Too bad i didnt check during reno time. It is close to 7 years but so fsr nothing happene.

Between ODU to IDU will have 4 wires. Ask the installer to show you since you pulling new cables. Earth hijacked as signal is bad practice.

DB to IDU 3 wires.

Motors in metal box (like AC ODU) are best grounded, if they short out and you happen to touch it at that moment

It is good to have earth for safety. For my case i only discovered after 1 year and cannot do anything. Aircond still working without earth. So if u havent done, pls make sure it is 4 wire

Just for reference, my small living room now with 2hp Mitsubishi inverter, now I set 30c fan speed 1 only is cool enough.

On hot day compressor will run at normal consuming 4A. At night with Windows showing temperature 27-28c, compressor usually run 3A initially, then gradually reduce to 2A. So there's still power saving compare to fixed speed running non speed. Used to have fixed speed compressor, my father cannot tolerate the hotness with compressor stop, so we never let the compressor stop. With inverter, he's the one setting the higher temperature to enjoy cool breeze air instead of chilling cold

I installed midea 1.0hp easypro for 3 months now and bought it about 1.1k after discount at shopee. Very satisfied with its performance. I tested 3 month comparing sharp 1hp and midea both 5 star inverter. Surprisingly my bill drops by using midea (i didnt turn on sharp inverter for 3 months ady). And midea is colder... No regret to try midea.

Suspected pinhole leak along the return line.. just like blood in human, it never leak in a closed system but if u have a papercut or similar there goes the blood/refrigerant, contaminated w moisture. When refrigerant contaminated then it affect its gaseous point (it supposed to deliver cold LIQUID to IDU then collect heat and draw it away via suction line in the form of GAS/VAPOUR back to ODU)

FYI, I'm renting the unit to the tenant, not for self-use.

The average cost difference between an inverter and a non-inverter aircon is about RM500. Why would I pay more to get an inverter aircon for my tenant? Furthermore, the cost of repair (spare parts) is higher as compared to a non-inverter aircon. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Personally, I have been using Panasonic, Daikin and Mitsubishi inverter aircon at my home for more than 10 years. They are very reliable and seldom give me problems, but the price is on the high side for these well-known brands.

I’m looking at the China aircon brands since they are cheaper, but I wouldn't know if they are reliable as I have never used them before, so I need some feedback from existing users.

I'm open to any brands or models that are cheap and reliable. You may also PM me if you know of any shops or contractors who are selling aircon in the KL area. Thanks!

Hi I have this more than 10 years old Daikin, i have been DIY cleaning the coil, so everytime cleaned the coil the Aircon works like normal, still blowing cold air. But after 1 month then water start dripping, then no more cold air. I think it is clogged or something. Is it worth to overhaul it or replace it? Thanks

hi all, wondering if anyone has experience with a faulty ionizer unit? my panasonic xpu started making high pitch sounds since a few weeks back, and it stops only when i turn of the ionizer.

not sure what is the issue as it's been used less than 2yrs @ ~8hrs/day. if anyone here knows if it can be replaced or need to contact panasonic, do share. thank you!

yeah wanted to go for Panasonic or Daikin but they were around 1.1k so asked for cheaper models and got quoted Haier,

Usage will be mostly in hot weather + nightly usage 

Trying to claim SAVE 4.0 for aircon, I see only Midea, Hisense, Haier.

Looking for 1k and below (before discount). Any recommended model?

Nobody said that Panasonic is a good aircon brand, except those saleman.
1hp Panasonic model, inverter or non, can skip it.
Go for daikin or Mitsubishi electric.

Inverter aircon can use in cold rains or hot weather.
Nothing to worried about on and off to make you feel uncomfortable.

Can easily search my posts in this thread, all the way I am recommended inverter unit. But nobody wanna try to install inverter, most of Malaysian go for cheaper model, got cold air good than enough.

That is why R32 non inverter model still alive in year 2024 Malaysia.
Singapore non inverter model, discontinued in 10 years ago 😂

Mitsubishi electric aircon have easy cleaning feature in some models.
How come there are no new aircon model launched since year 2019?
