After reading this thread, I decide to stop my stupid action to write and complain to customer support from TMnut! I really really really sicked and frustrated with their stupid either idiot CS asked me to do troubleshooting chores and test the speedmeter. What's use for that! I am complaining on low even no speed for p2p clients instead FTP and HTTP, but gave those funny dumb answers...

I honestly think that we need to remind TMnet, P2P has brought tremendous impact towards the subscription each and the coming year.... Do we need 1MB to reply mails and load www.lowyat.net?

Do we need 1MB to reply mails and load www.lowyat.net? of course we don't need 1MB for surfing and emails. like my good friend soulxtc said, it's because of P2P we are using the speed for.

No point to use 2M which already applied in some place if can't p2p.

" Don't wear such a big hat if your head isn't big enough" As usual, $$ > Quality. That's what they always doing, since they monopolized it.

Wow! I don't need astro. Too bad it lags on my 512kbps connection. Hmmm, I bet if I were to stream this everyday to watch. TM Net would say I am abusing their services and a part of the 20% using 80% of bandwidth. It's not even p2p. This post has been edited by TC_Boy: Oct 25 2006, 03:50 AM

I mean, everyone of us still using TM nut's line, no matter how we protest, TM nut still cap BT and never announce about this issue or apology officially to the public. TM nut is really irresponsible to customers most of the time.

I was thinking may redeem n recover in this year ended as TMnut didn't release any official announcement to throttle P2P forever. If they do so without any official announcement, this is against what morphware had said in this link http://digg.com/tech_news/Malaysian_ISP_Th...P_Traffic_by_90We could even sue the TMnut!

I actually had asking for consultant from my lawyer regarding BT throttle Issue. Actually, TM got it right to throttle BT because BT is 99.9% violate terms and conditions in the contract. It is nothing to do with the content of download but the usage of BT will engage other users's bandwidth, causing "traffic jam" situation.

AFAIK, the terms didnt mention anything about how much share of international bandwidth are we suppose to have. All that is there is that it defines us getting 512k dl speed for example. and using BT certainly doesnt make our line run faster than 512k they also did not define the amount of data we can transfer and so many other thing.... As far as the contract signed goes, we get that 512k bandwidth at best effort. so as long as we're not using more than 512k, we're not violating an terms, isnt it....

But thing is, the hold market share (insert number) of Malaysia. Forgive me for my ignorance but can't we do something like sue them for abusing monopoly or something? By the way, could anyone, when called by the upper level ask them about p2p throttling, rmake them admit TMnut does do that and ecord the whole conversation and send it to the media? I'm sure somehow, hopefully, Tmnut will kena kau kau or something, perhaps? This post has been edited by kaiserreich: Oct 25 2006, 12:34 PM

In europe there's those antitrust law Microsoft gets alot of pain from them too bad i dont think our country have any law to prevent monopoly. heck there are so many monopoly companies here, which explains all the bad service we're getting
