they have not enough bandwidth
yet they introduce 2mbps package... yes, 2mbps, for web browisng and chatting.... chat till u drop dead
Sometimes I wonder what happened to the logical processor in their heads

there really is no point in getting anything more than a basic RM66 package.

sabarlah , bro ... don't put too much hope toward TM.
maybe we should lower our expectation ... TM is providing its' best efford. Even though, TM's service is BAD. But, at least we still can access internet.

anyway I still look forward to see more attached reply from cfm. keep on complaints will be the only method to release customers' anger.
*
hehe, thats a positive way to look at it though biggrin.gif

indeed we can access internet, but i'll be very unfair to those who pays more for the faster package. The only practical thing that need anything faster than a basic 512k package is p2p activities, so all these user pays 22 bucks more than others in believes that it will meet their p2p requirement, but now TmNet is killing off the only application which moves user to get the faster package

It's like they gives us faster bandwidth, but they tell us how to use it

u know, it all just sounds to me like they rather sit back and watch the line idle rather than have it fully utillize, really.. look, they did NOT mention any traffic congestion, all they say is its not fairly distributed and maximum utilization.

1. what is wrong with full utilization of our country bandwidth?

2. Would they rather distribute it evenly and have a load of bandwidth idling because of the difference usage (INEFFECTIVE UTILIZATION) or let this extra, idling bandwidth serve those who need it more (EFFECTIVE UTILIZATION) ?

Clearly it isnt about congestion, but they WANTS the line to be idle, for whatever reason. My guess, reduce international bandwidth usage to save cost. The bandwidth is there, they just didnt want to pay for it.

These ppl are a horrible bunch of cynics..

just my 2 cent though

this few days , melaka speed only ~10-30kb/s !!

if comfirm throttling P2P ,  I want cancel two 1mb adsl line..
*
heheh, u can break pass the 10kbps barrier
mine cant even reach 10kbps..

but mine already basic RM66 package already, so cant do anything, though its a waste pay RM66 but my line is close to idle all the time..

i called their tech support line, they said they're not doing any p2p blocking.

I think the only thing TmNet is better at compare to other ISP around the world is how they cover up all their sinister activity

HK line, the other side slow... the lamest one was we are not throttling, just bandwidth shaping laugh.gif

sue TM =  sue government of Malaysia.
r you thinking of revolution ? I actually had asking for consultant from my lawyer regarding BT throttle Issue.  Actually, TM got it right to throttle BT because BT is 99.9% violate terms and conditions in the contract. It is nothing to do with the content of download but the usage of BT will engage other users's bandwidth, causing "traffic jam" situation.
*
AFAIK, the terms didnt mention anything about how much share of international bandwidth are we suppose to have.

All that is there is that it defines us getting 512k dl speed for example. and using BT certainly doesnt make our line run faster than 512k

they also did not define the amount of data we can transfer and so many other thing....

As far as the contract signed goes, we get that 512k bandwidth at best effort. so as long as we're not using more than 512k, we're not violating an terms, isnt it....

But thing is, the hold market share (insert number) of Malaysia. Forgive me for my ignorance but can't we do something like sue them for abusing monopoly or something?
*
In europe there's those antitrust law
Microsoft gets alot of pain from them tongue.gif

too bad i dont think our country have any law to prevent monopoly. heck there are so many monopoly companies here, which explains all the bad service we're getting laugh.gif

Weird.. I was able to connect to the trackers, just no transfers.. doh.gif

QUOTE(nairud @ Nov 4 2006, 09:23 AM)
same here. but after a while, the tracker will be offline.
*
trackers no problem for me...
can even connect to peers but cant dl anything except from local peers of course..
so without local peers, my speed is effectively 0kbps shakehead.gif

I sent TMNet an email regarding this issue on Thursday, and a couple more issues raised recently (possible implementation of download quotas, future bandwidth issues).

I received an email (not an automated one) from TMNet yesterday promising a 'thorough response' to my queries by the end of next week.  I will publish their response verbatim on our front page [http://www.lowyat.net] when I do get it.
*
did u mention to them that ur representing lowyat.net here or something...
probably they entertained knowing that it will be read by many users lol laugh.gif

either that or the rest of us is sending mail to the wrong mailbox all this while

QUOTE(work_tgr @ Nov 4 2006, 05:15 PM)
yes ... hope a good answer such as unthrottle BT by next week  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif
*
but i hope they wont give answer such as " will do so and so in the future"... they always give a statement that isnt well defined like in the future, best effort... who knows when their future will be... tongue.gif

anyway thanks alot to badawi rocks... looking foward to their reply smile.gif

The speed I think is fast but the thing is the TMpricks KacaU the P2P programs~  vmad.gif

Then again, if they do improve the speed but still kacau P2P = Useless laaa

I am downloading some H-stuff (since I've nothing else to download) from Gigeshare.com at max speed (at 58-60KBps / 512kbps package), but when it comes to torrent = 0.00KBps DL/UPL  vmad.gif
*
yes indeed its just p2p connection only

from website all normal speed, and quite good actually..

Will that make a difference in terms of P2P ?
*
If it means more bandwidth at lower cost, then it does means alot since they might ease up on p2p throttling... no one knows. we'll have to wait and see...

right now they are doing this to reduce the cost of international line usage. its not like they dont have the bandwidth to allow p2p, more like they doesnt want to pay for the usage cost
