The seller sells those at RM300 and 1 year warranty. Well there still time before Xmas so I can still look around. laugh.gif

tried to find this liteon cv1-cc256-11 on the net but the one that always pop up are this liteon cv1-cc256-01. the difference is between eleven and one.
judging from the spec of the latter, the seq write comes close to what you estimates at around 335 MB/s. I guess it is not bad at all
might be better than kingston v300 and definitely better than my old intel 330. laugh.gif
*
not sure, because i never owned these drives before. however, i think it's fair to say that their performance are sufficient for common usage.

v300 and intel 330 uses the same sandforce sf-2281 controller. it's an old controller but it has been used in previous high performance consumer grade ssds, like intel l 520. (the details are in the firmware)

Baru terima Liteon L9S 256GB from Athlon888. Migrate dari hdd ke ssd, semua berjalan lancar. Benchmarks seperti lain2 Liteon L9S SSD.

Is it still reliable/worth to have RAID0 SSD nowadays? Or have single SSD that saturated SATA3 full speed out there?

Thinking to have 2x120GB cheapo SSD..like L9S or M6S.

in term of raw performance, RAID 0 are awesome. but for general usage/gaming, performance different is negligible. if you already have 2 identical ssd, for the sake of science no prob go with RAID 0. indeed RAID 0 will increase risk of data losses, but it still far less compared to standard HDD.

however, 2x120GB SSD in RAID 0 are not recommended IMO. might as well go with single 256GB SSD. will give you better price/size.

imo it really depends.

1. in terms of costs, while m.2 pcie ssds are still expensive, you can opt for much cheaper raid0 to achieve better speeds.
2. in terms of reliability, it's a give-and-take. raid0 always have risks. previously i used raid0 for os/app/game drive, and store data else where. the risks of data loss is really relative and subjective. i had zero issue.
3. in terms of performance, if a single sata ssd is more than enough, you probably can just stick to that. depending on usage, the difference might not be significant.

edit: my point is, find balance of the above based on your needs. for instance, in my case, i have removed all hdds from my gaming rig. i find the speed of sata ssds alone is damn great for me already.

on a side note: i really suggest everyone get the cheapest ssd that one can afford, at least for os and common software. recently i had a chance to configure some laptops with stock hdd. man, things that i can do in minutes or under an hour, had become hours. many long hours. although hdd is still good for light common usage, once you go beyond that, your machine is seriously bottle necked.

Thanks guys for your thoughts notworthy.gif . Lately feel like my aging OCZ Agility performance is decreasing...like going to retire soon. Too bad my mobo doesn't have M.2 slot. Yes, i'm aware bout risks of RAID0 & i've got no problem with that. But from term of price/size ratio, I'll take your advice to get decent 256GB SSD... Got any fastest model recommended?

i still prefer to use m.2 ssd with a pcie adapter with heat sink. (read about why here)

for consumer sata ssds, my personal favorite is samsung 850 pro. it's a solid drive with 10-year warranty.

Still haven't bought that cv1-cc256-11, thinking about its 1 year only warranty.
Browsing through techview at lelong
Saw them selling Liteon MUII (RM399) and 900S (RM409) with full 3 year warranty
what is the difference between both of those?

the main difference is the controller, maybe the nand flash chips too. the controller in mu ii should be phison controller. 900s use marvel controller. 900s is positioned as mainstream, while mu ii is entry-level.

for MYR10 difference, i think it's a no-brainer.

yes. at least to me, i call it best bang for bucks for many reasons.

however, i do hope all users to do their own research too. like any other review sites, don't just take our words for it. this is because we all have different needs, budgets, and expectations. to me, most mainstream sata ssds are good for common usage, for work, i prefer performance ssds. some others might think otherwise.

I have read whatever reviews available for the 900s and other SSD and decided to get the 900s due to mostly positive feedback I read in the internet. Plus the pricing is still affordable. smile.gif

Even with SATA 2, you will see a lot of improvement going from HDD to SSD. For boot drive of course.

I agree. I also prefer performance too. That's why instead of single SSD, I go for two SSDs for RAID0 setup. smile.gif I got two Plextor M5S that time because single 256GB cost more that time.

I got Kingston Hyperx Fury 120GB for my laptop. Even with SATA 2 only, SSD is a loooot faster than HDD.
