so if eat rice everyday means end up eating sugar everyday huh? would u mind explain more about protein based foods?
*
rice contain mostly starch. Starch broke down to glucose in our body. So, it's more or less the same.
Protein-based food I was mentioning are like eggs, chicken, meat and so on.
I eat at least an egg everyday. I don't do much workout right now cuz busy with study, but can still maintain my V-shaped chest smile.gif

sigh... my phone was sent to SC. Dunno when can I get it back. Everything is erased. I'm not lying. You can go and see at HTC One thread in Android sub-topic if you don't believe me. Now using cheapo 3310 only. How to take picture... sweat.gif

my experience:

170cm height and used to weight 50kg. This was during uni days.

Currently weights 62kg.

I make sure i must eat every 3 hours...i even get used to it during office hours, example:

8.30am breakfast before start works at 8.45am...sometimes i only ate half of it and the other half at 9.30am if its abig portion...

10.30am 15  mins break light brunch at cafe upstairs...if im not taking food i order milo ais kaw...at least make sure ur drinks got calories, n protein

12.30pm lunch

3.30pm 15mins break again at cafe upstair sometimes cheesecake sometimes kuih muih n more

5.30pm or 6pm+ burger in front of my office if really hungry(not recommended...should change to healthy diet)

7.30pm-9pm dinner

mine diet is low quality food sometimes so if u can fit those schedule during ur working hours n good nutritious food is even better. n i oso go to gym casual weight training 15-20mins daily or alternate days). my office have gym. i dont really drink mass gainer so far just normal food....but i make sure my stomach never really feel really2 hungry until like pain2 a bit... so i check my watch once 2.5 hours until last meal then im ready to have my meal already...pratice this habit if u going to gain weight naturally...i notice my skinny frens have eating probs....they eat a lot but very long time in between meals....very hard to gain weight if like that...if can gain oso ur tummy buncit but body maintain small frame n skinny....not good

oh yeah just to add....before puasa this year my weight usually ard 58-59kg...during puasa my weight drops to 55-56kg....then once raya until now with consistent meal plan as previously it shoots up to 62kg...im guessing prolly during puasa month my body mechanism metabolism took a shock n it become lower to adapt to lower food intake n longer interval between meals....

so just a tips if eating a lot n consistently really not doing anything to ur body can consider puasa for 1 month n then continue ur normal diet see if ur weight shoot up or not...coz giving shock to ur body sometimes helps to reduce ur metabolism rate smile.gif
*
Just an update on 11/10/2013 i measure my latest weight and im hitting 64.3kg on a digital scale...no protein powder supplement, no pills...just maintain my usual diet and hitting the gym every day (but its only 15-20 mins session of bench press, back row, shoulder press)

My progress quite rapid and very simple...i will eat...but never make myself too full....so the next meal 3 hours later i can have the same portion i eat earlier(i notice my body absorb nutrition more effective compared to eat only 3 times a day but gungho mode)...drinking fair amount of water in between meals and some small dessert/choclate/ice cream/buns etc... since i change my eating habits i notice remarkable improvement in such short period of time smile.gif..hope any of u guys used to have same issue as me can try...

So is it better to eat 3 big meals you mean? I'm eating 4. each aroud 500 kcl, do you think that is okay with my high metabolism?
*
it depends on ur situation sis....im no expert but rationally i think what would be the point if u eat 1 super big meal during lunch for 1000kcal and more and makes u feel bloated thorughout the day and only be able to eat small meal during dinner or u totally skip dinner and just eat some fruits/junkfood or small buns?

means u consume 1000kcal but no appetite to eat any more for the next 6-8 hours...of which during that period ur high body metabolism might burn the same 1000kcal energy...end up still no gain or very little...its better u eat small meal 300-400kcal every 2-3hours and maybe per 2-3hour ur body burns150kcal-200kcal?(as example only)...so means by every meal u are gaining smile.gif if u able to eat in excess the amount ur body will burns every period... this will result in weight gain in the long run...

you're right. I've tried both methods lately, and the one you suggested worked better.
Thank you.

Whey protein shake is nowaday the best product to gain weight or lose weight. If you guy heard of Genetically modified organism(GMO). 90% of the soy are went thru GMO nowadays which will cause death to human being...Most of the product nowadays are still using soy protein for people to gain weight or lose weight...which is very dangerous...& of course not every whey protein shake are from new zealand Happy Cow....you can go google this - "Isalean Shake – The Best Meal Replacement For Weight Loss". This is one of the whey protein shake I use to lose weight & it being certified^^

more food? do you mean , High amount of food per meal or high amount of meal per day? If it is the first option, i eat quite alot until my friend call me as "tanker"
*
my advise...jot down throughout the day at what time u eat n what do u eat? even small2 thing like a pack of biscuit, kuih, ice cream, burgers....try to jot down ur eating habit for the next 1 week...i suspect u do eat a lot per meal but very long time interval between meals or u hav 1 super big meal on lunch and barely nothing else for bfast and dinner...end up ur total calorie prolly even lose to a small portion eater but eat 5-6 times a day consistently every 3 hours...

just my 2 cents as i was once a skinny person too....and age sometimes play a big factor too....the older u are the lower u metabolism rate is...

For about one month ago, i gained about 6 kgs and my muscle is growing. I notice my limit for my weight is about 60kg. Idk why cannot increase anymore . But having muscle and bigger body boost my confidence for my presentation in class. but nowadays my weight is decreasing about 2kg due to stress environment and no time to eat. Gain weight and building muscle is not easy for medical student. I only manage to go gym every weekend instead of every 2 days. Imagine your class start at 8 and finish at 7+ and only have a break from 1pm to 2pm and everyday you have 3 lab reports to be done. But i take it as challenge and will never give !

my target for the next 3 months : 65kgs and much bigger muscle

If you still eating the same amount of food while you were below 60kg, surely you cannot gain weight.

The science behind it is that, your BMR increased as your muscle do. Simple meaning is that, if you need to eat 2500kcal to gain muscle mass by 3kg, to gain another 3kg of muscle mass, you need to eat more than 2500kcal a day as your BMR will increase.

That is why pro bodybuilders need to eat a lot of food (more than 5000kcal a day) due to amount of muscle mass the body have.
