Would like to know this too. Am using maxis fiber grouped with my mobile data plan - unlimited

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Oct 21 2022, 11:00 AM)
So it's not really unlimited then?
After reaching 300gb shared across 4 family members, it's back to snail speed?

For the moment, switched to digi postpaid 200 with 4 sublines for rm290 from unifi mobile because the line was just terribad.
Just the hotspot limited to 10gb/line

Digi fiber offers seems gooding for the rm100/300mbps or the rm130/500mbps

i went to check in maxis centre after waiting past 1mth with nothing transpiring apart from getting line upgrade; apparently CS didn't create order that he promised to create "later".
few days after he confirmed to create the zerolution order on-the-spot, i got call from maxis' appointed agent to deliver.
ypu can check in bill if you are getting charged for the zerolution. if not inside bill, you can go maxis centre to check if you are even signed up for the tv in the first place; then you can decide whether to (re)sign-up or not. unfortunately if you had (re)contracted the fibre in order to get the tv, you can't back out without penalty, but do check so.

(but you said had recently switched from unifi to maxis, so i guess you really are contracted.)

Using your own router or Maxis router? The Maxis fibre is contracted for 2 years same like Unifi. As for the TV you have to check whether can cancel or not.

doesn't matter. it's the fibre line itself contracted, not the router that comes with it. unless, you bought additional mesh router units under zerolution as well.

pictured below: my 36mth zerolution tv add-on.
you should see similar in your bill if you have zerolution contract under fibre. of course cannot cancel without penalty.

Where got cooling period. Even Unifi also the same. Once sign up, the fibre contract for 24 months. What mesh are you using, if the mesh can configure as router, try to swap it as main router and see if still encounter the same problem.
Also, can always lodge report if speed is not up to par.

I was using Maxis in 2020, but terminated it and switched to Unifi in Oct 2020. However, even after receiving my first Unifi bill, Maxis was still sending me another last bill.

I told Maxis local shopping mall branch, when I request to jump ship, I had to contact Maxis and settle everything before getting their consent for the switch. So I did exactly that, and therefore they release my account and that is how I managed to sign up with Unifi. So why after the cancellation I get another bill?

After few working days, the branch whatsapp me saying all they can do is reduce the total by RM60. But why should I pay the balance, whatever the amount be, since it is practically impossible to subscribe to both maxis and unifi at the same time (in my case).

Tried contact Maxis HQ via customer service but cannot get hold of anyone. Anyone can provide some advice? I have unifi bill to show Maxis, both charging me for the same period!

IIRC, the day you request to jump ship, you will pay the latest available bill for Maxis to release your line. In a few days or max 2 weeks time, Unifi will come and do the installation. So while waiting for Unifi to be ready, your Maxis fibre line is still active. The line will only terminate officially few days after Unifi is running. Therefore technically you can run both Maxis and Unifi for the first few days or even up to a week.
From the day you made request to Maxis and pay the bill, your internet still run until it is terminated weeks later. Hence you have the final bill to pay. As for my experience switch out from Unifi, TM charges one month advance. Any remaining balance will be refunded through cheque.

It's the same for telco postpaid line, if you switch out there will always be a final bill.
Hope my explanation helps.

Thanks. If that is the case, I'll just confirm with Maxis.

I am new to Maxis Fibre and just completed the installation today in my new house. Previously was using Unifi in my old house.

I subscribed to 300Mbps with WiFi 6 router. My question, is Maxis Fibre actually cap the download speed for downloading files from file hosting website or cloud service, such as OneDrive, GDrive?

I am downloading files through GDrive but I just unable to get max speed. Others like 1fichier and etc also cannot get full speed. Downloading games from Steam can get myself full download speed as allocated for 300Mnps. Speed test I can get 300Mbps as well. And I am connecting using LAN cable to my PC.

Or this is some sort of certain hour FUP limitations again?

Hi there is IPv6 working for you guys? I noticed my Asus router failed to connect up to ipv6, not sure if it's my problem or maxis's. Got a friend of mine to try to load ipv6.google.com and it also failed for him

hi sifus here,

i am new to maxis fibre, previously using unifi
just get maxis fibre installed today, the question is the installer didnt give me PPPOE username and password sweat.gif

plan to change my own router, is it i need to get from them? thanks.

another doubts, the VOIP port is from router instead of BTU (unifi)
if i change to my own router, i will lose VOIP? sweat.gif
