Guys, is there any reason why my cat meow so frequent? He can meow for like 10 min non stop, stop a while, then continue. It's a bit noisy especially he likes to meow in the morning (5-6am) /late night after I off the lights. It's a siamese mixed btw.

boredom has been bothering me for quite some time now. i scare my cat is bored since nobody is at home with him during working hours. been thinking of getting a companion for him (a kitten maybe)

yes i suspect he still tries to do the teddy bear coz the bear is often "taken" to different spots in the house and showed signs of something heavy been put on it (ie penyek)...

Yeah, probably he is boring. A companion sound like good idea.

Try put away the teddy bear & replace with something else. hmm.gif

My cats really love playing with small balls like the ones for the kids. Maybe you can try this.

The best toys for cats are interactive toys .. the ones where you hold a stick and there's a toy at the end. The most highly recommended one is Da Bird - it's feathers at the end of a stick. My girls like that, but they really like the one with the mouse.

Da Bird: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/shopping...zDrzlk&usqp=CAY

The mouse: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/shopping...UlWxSQ&usqp=CAY

A cheap toy is milk rings .. you know, the plastic ring around bottlenecks after you take the bottlecap off? The milk jug ones are quite big, and my cats really like that. Another option is pompoms. I have a bag of 40 that I got for Christmas because I found out that my cats LOVE the pompoms. Kinda like pingpong balls, but smaller, lighter, and furrier.

some cats are just more vocal compared to others. i hear siamese can be very vocal though. as for the bear humping, that may not necessary be the case. my kitten takes my socks to a corner and thai kickboxing with it. bite, 2 front paws holding the socks and 2 hind legs repeatedly kicking it.
they do that sometimes. sometimes they are just playing or maybe just gigi gatal + geram?

one of mine did that too! she once take my smelly worn sock back to her box.
when they were little, they fight with stuff rats until one day, they found one real rat stealing their food, and she caught it.

they hate rats to their core, fight and chew the stuff rat's tail away.

I would pickup bird's feather and tie it on a string as a DIY cat teaser.
laser is good too but they lost their interest fast
boxes is good as well as they tore a hole or two on the box and starts to play Jack-In-The-Box game where they sneak attack each other tru the hole.
mineral water cap is good cheap toy too.

Hey guys,

My cat (DMH or perhaps DLH) just over a year old still sheds her fur. Started 3-4 months back and I assumed it was due to change of food brand. But I switched back to Orijen, and her fur still sheds - and it's quite a lot.

She's healthy, eats well and plays actively.
The amount of fur shed is becoming quite a problem lol

How do I go about this? Any vitamins? Should I bring her to the vet? Her next vaccination is due end of July.

Just want to clarify. In the span of only one day, your cat shed a lot of fur? If it's clumping of fur, then it's quite a lot though.

Yes even in one day she sheds a lot of fur.
She sleeps on my bed too so every morning I have to wipe it clean and believe me, there's quite a lot of it.

Ok, that's pretty bad. Your cat not in stress & I'm pretty sure you checked tick/flea, so can rule these out. I think it's food though. I know that you already change back to the regular food but it probably take a while before the problem stop. My cats also sometime have fur shedding problem too but usually there's always underlying causes like irritating from mosquito bite or tick/flea bite. In my case certain places, especially near the tail and anus, will go bald. In your case, I think the underlying cause is diet. I believe you probably already give it some time to settle down but it's not happening. All I can suggest, try change to more common food brand like Blackwood or Royal Canin. If the problem settle down, I think then you can go back to Orijen & the problem hopefully won't come back.

I've reverted back to using Orijen from Nutrience, almost 2-3 weeks back.
But nothing has changed.

My cat is an indoor cat, clean. She's active and plays a lot when we play with her.
I'm not too sure what other causes might be, besides food though. She was fine when fed with Orijen since the beginning, but her fur started dropping when I changed to Nutrience. And now having changed back to Orijen, the problem still persists hmm.gif

I'm not sure if cats in Malaysia shed in seasons, since there's only one season in Malaysia = hot, but it is possible. It's currently shedding season for my cats, so I've been brushing them a lot more.

It has been months now that the weather hotter than usual but I do not noticed any difference on shedding on my cats though, even with DMH cats.

EDIT: Writing in forum can cause confusion sometime. When I read my post again today, it seems like I am disagreeing that cat can shedding more in certain seasons. Actually no though. Basically it just my observation on my cats. However, actually I do noticed that fur on my DMH cats are slightly less "thicker" than before though, if you know what I mean, especially around the head, neck & tail. My DMH cats a bit sensitive with the weather than other cats though.

speaking of shedding, recently from early May I do notice that my cats shed quite an amount of fur. the volume of the fur caught on their brush has been doubled. not sure if it's seasonal as i changed their diet 3 mths ago from Eureka to Britcare Missy
