I see.. we stay in apartment and we put net on all windows to prevent our cat.
So basically our apartment is a big cage for the cat lol.

Is there any discharge on the red eyes?

If there's discharge then it's not normal. Your vet likely suspect Conjunctivitis which is what the prescribed ointment are for. Is there any discharge from the nose? I wonder why your vet doesn't give your cat antibiotic to helps the cat fight the infection (don't quote me because this is just based on my experience, I'm not trained vet). When my cats got cat flu, the left eye was swollen, always the left eye. Discharge from both eyes. I read vaccination doesn't prevent the disease completely but it does reduced severity of the disease. Depends on the virus, your cat may not sneeze but you should see discharge from the nose. This is if your cat got feline upper respiratory disease. If your kitten doesn't get better after a week like your vet said, bring your cat back to the clinic.

For now, always wipe your cat eyes with a clean cloth. Keep your cat warm & provide a lot of love to your cat. Hope your cat get better soon.

is it a clumping type?
i'm in penang, currently using clumping type wood litter.

i'm using the Oko Plus clumping wood litter.
i put the old car mat at the entrance/exit of the litter box
the car mat will trap the cat litter

thanks kizwan ... the 5 mth old is the one having diarrhea and i always change their water everyday with clean filtered water. they are house cats (condo) and only roam in a relatively clean house.
her diarrhea has subside now and i cant figure out what caused the diarrhea but i am glad its no longer happening.

Did your cat have diarrhea with friskies or whiskas? I don't have experience with Eureka. What is the ingredients? If your kitten have good bowel movement with whiskas or friskies, go back feeding with it & slowly change to new food. Example; 1st day 90% whiskas/friskies + 10% & slowly reduced the old food and increase the new food ratio over the next 7 days.

If your kitten also have diarrhea with friskies & whiskas, you might want hold food for 24 hours. 5 months old is old enough for this. Make sure your kitten always have access to clean drinking water. Then give your cat boiled chicken. You may need to feed your kitten with boiled chicken a couple of times until diarrhea subside. Then slowly feed your cat Eureka.

Coincidently I did read an article this afternoon about Probiotics. It can be given to cats with diarrhea to introduce helpful bacteria into the digestive tract. I can see why you want to try Eureka.

Mother cat's milk always the best. When the mother cat breast feeding her other kittens, you can try slowly put the kitten near the mother cat so that it can breast feed too. Usually when breast feeding, the mother cat won't mind. Don't leave the kitten unattended because you may need to take the kitten away when the mother cat get angry.

i suspect that mine was having diarrhea because she has been licking the clumping litter from her paws. the problem seems to go away after changing litter.
i'm no expert, i'm just suspecting that to be the case.

Well, there's a lot of ways. Just you need to figure out what works for your cat. Did your cat poop in the litter box but pee on the bed? Did your cat neutered/spayed? Preventing your cat from getting in the bedroom is one way.
