QUOTE(spunkberry @ Mar 11 2015, 12:10 AM) There are a lot of tutorials online, but it only really works well if your cat is very food driven. My black cat is not, though my white cat is, so I think clicker training would work well for her and not her black sister. vets close at 530 so i think i will drop by on saturday...Call the vet. We are not vets. he has stopped and i hope there will be no more thanks |

anyone got info on this shop?
tnt pet shop in bayan baru, penang. located next to young ones boarded my cat there for about 2 weeks for cny we got him back and found the belly fur have been shaved, but no questions asked as he was taken quickly to the car (he is timid and uncomfortable in an environment he is not comfy with), and we were just too happy to see him... he looked unhappy and lethargic for the first week at first we thought he just miss us for too long then recently we found him with 2 (just now suspect third) spot of bald skin, we found that he pulled the fur off with his teeth made some research and among the causes could be psychological, but could also be medical condition. we will get our cat to the vet this coming weekend in the mean time, googled and found that the shop got bad reputation... so anyone else got info about this shop? i will drop by there soon to confront the owner about this... QUOTE(splatzkill @ Mar 13 2015, 12:38 AM) i have heard some bad rumors about that shop tho i have no idea how true they. a friend told me the animals in that shop is always sleeping no matter how many times he goes there and he suspects misconduct. thanks for sharing. i also was introduced the shop at oneworld and went there yesterday. they have a number of kittens for adoption and the person seems nice (dont know her name though)anyway its just a suspicion and i don't want to smear the shop owners reputation with mere rumors. though you have every right to be cautious. i do know a decent place to board your cat tho. its at one world, bayan baru. owner of that shop is alexis. https://www.facebook.com/OnePetzPetStore edit: i did some search as well and found this on TNT. http://forums.petfinder.my/showthread.php?t=5403 https://foursquare.com/v/tt-pet-shop/4d1831...c216ea85aa074d3 QUOTE(spunkberry @ Mar 13 2015, 12:40 AM) Personally, I prefer keeping my cats at home and having a cat sitter come every day to take care of them. Keeps them in their own environment, so it doesn't stress them out. never thought of that, thanks might try that in the future... |

QUOTE(splatzkill @ Mar 13 2015, 11:48 AM) young chinese indian mix girl? yeah she's alexis. yup i was told so. she was nice but the shop is quite hidden i got my 2nd kitten from her. she takes in almost all stray puppies and kittens and feed/tend to them at her own expense until someone adopts them. her only condition is u must bring them back to spay/neuter. QUOTE(Seager @ Mar 13 2015, 02:31 PM) People should adopt rather than buying indeed. but maitaining so many cats is not cheapShe's doing a very noble thing, in fact there are quite a number of people doing the same |

QUOTE(kizwan @ Apr 9 2015, 12:14 PM) I've never done this before for newly adopt stray cat/kitten but you can try bring your cat for checkup. It may cost you some. I usually quarantine them separately from my other cats & if they didn't show any symptoms, then I would start introducing them to other cats. If the cat is a carrier for a disease like cat flu, then the cat won't show any symptoms. So, there's risk of course. Then again if the stray kitten did got cat flu before it's hard for them to survive living outdoor. So if the stray cat is kitten, then you can rule out cat flu, that's for sure. Also if your cat already vaccinated, your cat should already protected. thanks for your reply...Basically what you can do is bring the kitten for checkup & vaccination. i never bring my current cat for any vaccination. he was adopted from a construction site, i think a lost kitten... if i do decide to vaccinate my cat... what kind of vaccination is adequate? the reason i did not do it before this is because i am very budget constraint now that i am very bonded with my current cat, i think its for his best interest i give him some medical care... but i scare all this will cost me hundreds... |

QUOTE(babybb @ Apr 28 2015, 10:56 AM) Okay guys i have a huge problem here. I'm a cat lover but i dont own any cats because my mum wouldn't allow. I fed stray cats in my housing area and also my office area whenever i see any. Lately this stray cat at office i fed her for few days now. She often get bullied by the stray pack at there, i will chase them away then problem starting. This cat start following and chasing my legs wherever i go. She keep rubbing her head on my legs. When i enter office she will follow into my office and never leave even i shoo her away. Luckily my boss didn't notice if not i probably will get a warning letter. ask your mum. tell her nicely. she may change her mind. i assume you live in a landed house. should be no problem right? But she will wait me at outside office by sleeping or sitting. Whenever i go out for lunch she will again keep following and rubbing her head on my legs. I can't walk when she was doing that. Guys what should i do? It's been everyday. Now i was afraid to go out even to tarpau my lunch ah... terharu that was about how i got my current cat... |

hi all
may i ask if you ever encounter this my cat litterbox is outside and the door is usually closed. i am using clumping litter type, which looks like small small pebbles that will clump once in touch with liquid and i clean the box daily situation: so my cat recently will meow meow a lot demanding to access the box... then he will strike the pee post and sometimes only very little pee... in 5 mins he can do it 4 times... question: 1- is my cat just bored because we live in an apartment and he got nothing to do? 2- i suspect maybe its the litterbox problem? because i saw my cat moving the pebbles immediately after i exchange the latest batch of pebbles. FYI i use 2 litterbox in alternate - current one will be washed when changing litter so the other one will be used in turn 3- when cleaning everyday i can scoop out clumps of ping pong ball size so there is no suspicion of blockage... recently i open the door at night so that he can access the litterbox whenever he wants since he likes to access it around 4-5am in the morning. previously i had to wake up to open the door for him... what i know: - no blood in the clumps. healthy amount of poop. ping pong size clumps (urine) every morning (means he still pees) thanks for your reply |

QUOTE(kizwan @ May 6 2015, 02:45 PM) Did you neutered your cat yet? If not this is normal to some cats when they mature. It doesn't sound like your cat having problem peeing. If your cat stay in the litter box too long & he only peed a little, then he likely have problem urinating. Also if he is not in pain there's nothing you should worry about. first of all thanks a lot for your replyI have one un-neutered male cat when he matured, he peed quite frequently. Whenever I scooped out clumps from the litter box, he will come to the litter box to pee afterward. And if I scooped that clumps, he will come & pee again. It's like he is marking his territory in the litter box. He doesn't do this anymore. I'm planning to neutered him soon. Not all un-neutered male cats behave like this though, only some I believe. If you see anything out of the ordinary in his behavior, it's probably good idea to bring the cat to vet for checkup. Neutering for male cats. Spaying for female cats. The idea for both are for population control. Female cats that already spayed will no longer able to get pregnant or get aroused (heat). sorry forgot to mention he is neutered well, he doesnt stay longer than he need to. he will just dig dig, adjust himself, do the pose, and finish within no more than 10 seconds... he also drink many times a day, and is on a dry kibble diet |

QUOTE(kizwan @ May 10 2015, 01:52 PM) This article may be able to answer the question. thanks Kizwan for the link. good to hear its not abnormal... now i can have a laugh everytime he tries to do it http://pets.thenest.com/cats-hump-theyre-neutered-9963.html It mentioned there, neutered cat can get female cat pregnant around 6 weeks after neutering. Yours already 8 months, hormones should already exit his body. Probably the neutering process not complete? I was going to bring my male cat next for neutering. If this is the case, I might bring my female cat for spaying instead. At least spaying is permanent. |

my cat swallows rubber bands, and previously managed to chew off a fabric string from the bolster case, also caught ribbon in his poop, and two large strings too...
is this behavior = eating grass? so far no problem but i have taken precaution by putting away these kind of things and be aware of what he catches |

QUOTE(kizwan @ May 27 2015, 03:53 PM) I don't think so. It kinda odd that your cat swallow the rubber bands. I also always throw away any objects including rubber bands, plastic bags, etc that I think that can attract the cats. Maybe your cat need new toys. boredom has been bothering me for quite some time now. i scare my cat is bored since nobody is at home with him during working hours. been thinking of getting a companion for him (a kitten maybe)How is your cat by the way? Is he still trying to mount his toy? yes i suspect he still tries to do the teddy bear coz the bear is often "taken" to different spots in the house and showed signs of something heavy been put on it (ie penyek)... |

QUOTE(Candlenie @ May 27 2015, 04:51 PM) Guys, is there any reason why my cat meow so frequent? He can meow for like 10 min non stop, stop a while, then continue. It's a bit noisy especially he likes to meow in the morning (5-6am) /late night after I off the lights. It's a siamese mixed btw. same case with mine loli threw pillow at him... i think your cat lonely after finish everything it wants to do at night and now demand you play or feed it |

QUOTE(Candlenie @ May 27 2015, 05:25 PM) lol sometime I open door and let him come in to my room but it doesnt help. Continue to meow in my room Is there any recommended toys for cat? As far as I know my cat is not interested in anything QUOTE(kizwan @ May 27 2015, 05:43 PM) Yeah, probably he is boring. A companion sound like good idea. i got my cat some ping pong balls... they are light and can "fly" around, good toy for a cat Try put away the teddy bear & replace with something else. I don't have Siamese but I read they're very vocal. My cats really love playing with small balls like the ones for the kids. Maybe you can try this. |

QUOTE(kizwan @ Jun 19 2015, 04:01 PM) You need to ask them of course. Go to your district veterinary office. They have cats/dogs clinic there, so any checkup required can be done there. I don't know the procedure for pet export but I would think they're the one that have the authority to produce certificate to allow you for pet export. yes need cert... to prove they are healthy and some other things. evaluated by their vet or something |

QUOTE(anti-informatic @ Jun 23 2015, 10:17 AM) Oh I don't think they will give something like sleeping pill. the info i have last time is you can check in the pet (malaysia airline), buy tic for the pet (charges may apply like normal tic price)Most probably they will just gather all pets in one place and send into the flight. I'm not so sure what is the procedure thou. I only know you need to have all medical report, import permit, and any related doc to be prepared before that. If possible, look for an agent that cover sending pet for flight so they can settle everything once and for all. Good luck mate animal must be caged properly by sender then get necessary permit/letter from relevant gov dept i also hope to know more, hope sender will update us all ya |
