im new to this world.it is not almost a year i can finally hold a cat but even before i can feed them only putting the food on the floor.well i got 2 cats from my uncle..the first cat that my family get ,gave birth to 2 kiitens and the other was adopted by us last august.the problem is one of the kittens was diagnosed to have sporo fungal.the kitten name was Lulu
FEBRUARY:I went to government veterinar to treat her ears.the wound on her ear keep getting smaller . SUNDAY MARCH 1: LULU was seem to be inactive and keep hiding around the corner and vomitting,I brought her to government vet because i cant afford because i am fresh graduates who still looking for a job..but officer said that LULU got feline but they didnt know which one .i was confused as they didnt state which feline virus LULU was diagnosed.but they saw the bruise hidden under her fur on her upper back and said let delay the bruise for later treatment.so as they prescribe antibiotic and antibody but LULU seems to be still weak and have some bad odour on her wound.one week passed the fur on bump kept fall off and the wound seems to be worsen so i thought it is one after effect of the antibiotics. 8 march yesterday:in the afternoon i saw LULU back got worsen so i quickly when to nearest private vet, the doctor diagnosed LULU and said she got sporo ,she asked me to let LULU with her (forever).my mother seems to agree with her as my parents still have 4 children who still in school, college and university, and they cant afford the sporo treatment no more. i cried and begged my mom to let me take care of LULU as i still available right now.from what i have read the treatment may cost a lot.my mom only gave me two weeks to see how LULU was progressing and it has cost rm175 already and my mom said she can only afford it for two weeks.im desperate right now. the vet said it is going to cost more after this and my mother said she dont any money to spend on this treatment anymore.should i gave up?this is the first time i ever love a cat and this happen.and i also staying with my grandparents.i afraid it will affect other cat and my family member i read some of cats who survived sporo but it is going to cost money.Help |

In many situations, outpatient therapy may be a consideration. Several antifungal drugs are available for treatment of this infection. Your veterinarian will choose the type that is best suited to your cat. The treatment generally takes some time; at least several weeks after the initial treatment before the patient is considered recovered. While your cat is being treated, you will need to protect yourself from infection. Gloves and face masks are suggested, but your veterinarian will instruct you on the best methods for minimizing risk of transmission"FEBRUARY:I went to government veterinar to treat her ears.the wound on her ear keep getting smaller . My best advice, learn to let go, cats are not human, your money has more importance towards your livelihood, same with your moms, she made the right choice. Last time my family cat was diagnosed with leukemia, My aunt spent close to 5k to try to keep her alive in a hospital. I find this stupid, Cats are not human, They are family, but not human. You just need to learn to let go when its not viable anymore. Truthfully if my cat got a disease that i know after some research can be fully cured..i would even swipe 10k of my card. But if i dont have the money, or the disease is like cancer or leukimia, i would let go. Your money has more importance to your livelihood. This is my humble advice. Look on the bright side, the cat can get proper treatment now & the chance to recover is much better.FEBRUARY:I went to government veterinar to treat her ears.the wound on her ear keep getting smaller . QUOTE(jessteong @ Mar 9 2015, 10:44 AM) it doesn't have to be finger snap. it can be any distinctive sound u want the cat to recognize. i use snapping to signal she has done something that i approved / well behavior. i started by every time its time for feeding time, i would ask them to sit if they sit i would snap my finger then give them their food. you have to keep doing this until they know what it means. always end the click/snapping with a reward/treats during training. the whole objective of clicking/snapping is to make training other stuff easier. once they know the click/snap = good behavior, kitty training becomes easier. same as positive behavior sounds, u can also enforce negative behavior sounds. some of my friend do PSSST sound. for me, i will sternly say NO ... and if they continue i will leash them to their cat furniture or lock them in the cage... after a while they get the idea NO = unacceptable behavior click/snap = good behavior both my cats are train to recognize there commands: sit = sit up = come up my lap inside = go into the cage and they seem to come to me every time i snap my finger, wherever they are in the house. but from what i read, you have to click/snap training your kitties when they are kittens still. they tend to me a tad more stubborn when they are full grown cats This post has been edited by splatzkill: Mar 10 2015, 10:11 PM |

QUOTE(Seager @ Mar 10 2015, 01:48 PM) indoor cats are less likely to have worm problems. you can deworm 6 mths once or 1 year once its up to you. cats who are free to roam outside needs to be deworm more often. its up to you how often you want to deworm an outdoor cat, but i recommend not longer than 6 months once. my friends do it once every 2 months. |

anyone got info on this shop?
tnt pet shop in bayan baru, penang. located next to young ones boarded my cat there for about 2 weeks for cny we got him back and found the belly fur have been shaved, but no questions asked as he was taken quickly to the car (he is timid and uncomfortable in an environment he is not comfy with), and we were just too happy to see him... he looked unhappy and lethargic for the first week at first we thought he just miss us for too long then recently we found him with 2 (just now suspect third) spot of bald skin, we found that he pulled the fur off with his teeth made some research and among the causes could be psychological, but could also be medical condition. we will get our cat to the vet this coming weekend in the mean time, googled and found that the shop got bad reputation... so anyone else got info about this shop? i will drop by there soon to confront the owner about this... You should confront the boarding house anyway, but not because they shaved your cat, but because they clearly were not doing anything to reduce stress on your cat. |
