RE: HSBC Visa Signature

I searched through their website, do they offer travel insurance benefits for card holders? They didn't mention it

I personally feel like HSBC is the hardest to get approval. Try to apply for Amanah Platinum Card twice got rejected, try to increase credit limit but got rejected also. So far SC and Citi (before UOB takeover) is the easiest for me.

RM told me that if I upgrade to HSBC Advance, the chances are higher or almost guaranteed to get approval.

To be honest, travel insurance that's attached to the credit card normally is quite meh. The coverage are very basic.

It's better off to buy external travel insurance than rely on the one with the cc

I saw other top-tier credit cards like Maybank, CIMB, and RHB, they offer between 1mil-2mil travel accident coverage, quite good eh.

those are benefits you wont be able to use. i think the medical coverage is quite low. not to mention the travel delays and inconvenience don't even exist on some

Anyone has had their card suspended recently without any explanation, sms or email or call or anything?

I am in the USA, using HSBC credit cards for subway and everything else payment using apple pay

Suddenly all of got notification from apple that says card has been suspended, and then removed from apple wallet.

I called hsbc and they said it was suspended because my credit card details have been compromised, but there have been no suspicious transactions according to them. it was a proactive suspension, without informing me.

just imagine if i was overseas and hsbc is the only card i have, zero alert is what pisses me off the most

before leaving for the usa i told them already we as a family will be there, and all actively using the card

3 cards from same account, all supplementary hsbc premier cards were suspended

so weird, just wish cimb will enable apple pay soon, they have never declined a purchase of mine anywhere in the world

did u inform hsbc that you will travel to US on the app? I have tested also after informed travel on these date to end date. Really cannot use the card except travel to that country.
i learned lesson when travel oversea. better to have 2-3 card with u. my friend got mbb cc, cannot use at hotel verification and payment (even try few days). end up, we swipe for him.
Another trick is prefer use oversea brand cc rather than local bank cc.
Sometimes, when fail to use that card, i can use another card for purchase. experience few times on this event.

Regarding the travel notification thingy on the hsbc app, i had set once before prior to my travel. Unfortunately, sometime the transaction failed even after setting the travel notification to the particular country that i was travelling in.

For alternative options oversea brand cc, there arent much foreign CC bank issuer in msia right? SCB, uob, ocbc are the only one i can think of other than hsbc.

Yes I did inform them 🥲🥲 I used the app and I even called just to make them make sure

As we were using public transport, I wanted to use apple’s express travel feature in Washington and New York, didn’t want to keep taking out wallets and credit cards in middle of crowded and scary looking subway stations

Ended up needed to do that only with CIMB preferred that never once got blocked 😂😂

This is the notification we got when landed in New York. Apple integration is wild

They're getting Apple to do that because many just jump over the turnstile or use the emergency exit to enter sweat.gif

Hey! Good day!
Does anyone know how to upgrade from HSBC Platinum Visa to Signature Visa?

Actually, I travel overseas quite often & would like to enjoy this Signature card benefit > access to the airport Premium Lounge. But during my last 2 months' application, I clicked wrongly & applied for Platinum (instead of Signature).

According to HSBC, I can only re-apply for a new HSBC card 6 months later. Is anyone know any method to upgrade the existing Platinum Visa card?

hi would like to know, at the end HSBC has allowed u upgrade Visa Signature or not?
*
No, HSBC asked to wait 6 months.
Since I have to travel (use airport premium lounge facilities) in less than 2 months, I applied AmBank Visa Signature & got approval the next month.
