please dont subscribe to this lousy bank credit card
I have a HSBC credit card
received unauthorised transaction sms
immediately called customer service
waited 30 minutes, no answer
called again, waited another 30 minutes, no answer too

called second day, already waited almost 30 minutes again no answer, only listening to stupid recorded message

now I dont know what to do, on one hand my card had unauthorised transaction, means fraud transaction, afraid they will try and continue till credit limit burst, but at the other hand, the bank is not able to help me.

if the service is so poor, better close the credit card department, no need to find any new customers.

Just keep holding. I once was on hold for 45 minutes, so burned my whole morning. From ny personal experience, it takes the CS about 30 minutes to pick-up. Most probably flooded with fraud reports following the iPay88 data breach.

after putting in complaint thru email yesterday morning, someone called me at night 9+, claiming to be from HSBC.
explained the whole scenario to her, she then said want to verify me, started asking those questions such as my ic number etc. I answered 2 and felt weird, ask how many questions are there, she said need to answer 6-7 questions.
I was angry and told her, instead of reporting a fraud case, I am going through another potential fraud now because they called me, and I do not know who she is. She told me this is the only way to proceed else I will have to call their CS hotline (it is 9+ and over their working hours)
after raising more questions to her, she ask me to go to their branches to lodge a fraud complaint. I was like WTF. wasted all my time

If I need to go to the bank, I intend to make a scene and cut both my credit card in front of their teller and close the account. fortunately I do not have any owing to HSBC.

What an experience with a MNC (overseas) bank, which was really suprising to me, all this while I thought this banks offer much better service compared to local banks, and I was wrong.

Once upon a time, overseas bank was good. Nowadays, no different from local banks like BSN.

You should go to a branch and flip table.

Speaking of going to a branch, I would also probably need to go to one soon, sigh.

finally got hold of a CS after 45 minutes of waiting just now. rclxub.gif

Blocked the card, and they will send replacement within 7 days.
also, i need to fill up the dispute form and they will refund back the unauthorized transaction charges within 2 weeks.

another tip given from CS is to fill up your cc details when buying online MANUALLY (visually see your cc and fill up) and not saving them in the website/platform database for speedy payment.

example like Shopee.
i immediately removed all my ccs there.
will manually enter the details if i want to buy something/topup ShopeePay.

Shopee = ipay88, so go figure doh.gif

so far my longest record was 1hour, literally leave my phone aside to wait for CS to attend to me. When that CS picked up my call. another time I waited for 30mins, ended up that CS recorded my number and told me the traffic of calls was super heavy, will ask respective CS to call me back. so frustrated with the recent CS quality.

Companies, including banks, are cutting costs, and hiring less CS.

And on top of that, have to hear people rant and get screwed up down left right, because of the Bank's fault.

Try again on working days bro.

I tried calling on last thursday night near midnite, waited for 1 hour like you, then i gave up.
The next day, tried morning around 9am, 945am a CS responded.

Good luck to you and others too.

PS - my CIMB mastercard CC also kana this morning. doh.gif But i was amazed with CIMB CS hotline, waited only 5 minutes then they responded. Immediately blocked my cimb cc card and they will send a replacement within 7-14 working days.

i wonder, does all these related to the recent news that ipay88 platform is compromised? hmm.gif

as seem recently it is multiple bank different cards affected.

and most transaction is small amount ie RM5 or USD1 or so.

Yes it is.

But when i told them about it, they kinda blurred and just gave few precautions on doing online transactions next time.
