I got an offer via email from ringgitplus on having a high chance to apply HSBC Amanah MPower Platinum Credit Card-i.

Will get guarantee gift of RM700 Lazada e-wallet and also win a chance to win Ipad Air 4 64Gb Wifi.

So my questions:

1) i don’t have HSCB bank account. Am i still eligible for this offer? Do i need to open a savings account first?
2) got annual Fees of RM240 per year. Said to waive it if i swipe the card 12 times per year. So swipe here means, if let say i go spend on Shopee, reloading e-wallets, buying groceries, etc, it is counted? Also, is it GUARANTEED to be AUTO waived or i need to contact customer service EVERY YEAR?
3) i gotta spend minimum RM1000 within 60 days for me to get that RM700 lazada e-wallet.

Appreciate if sifus here could share some input. Thanks! notworthy.gif

1) Yes you are eligible if you do not own any HSCB CC. You do not have to open a savings account.
2) Yes. Annual fee will not auto waived , if not you can contact them to reverse the charge.
3) Yes

How if let say i want to pay my HSBC card if i don’t have account with them?

QUOTE(Darren @ Sep 17 2021, 08:14 PM)
make sure ur (1) is not holding HSBC CC for more than 6month......
just incase u previously cancel ur hsbc card

hsbc normally is 6month from last credit card cancellation / fail application
but do give extra cooldown time incase of previous card cancellation take some extra time....so call processing time ......

normally i will wait 1-2month extra from my last cancellation period....

Thanks for the info.

you can just instant transfer to your card from any bank. just enter your credit card number

A question: how to know HOW MUCH i have spent on the card?
How much to pay for minimum payment, balance statement or full outstanding?

Can view on HSBC online banking website but not having savings account with them, only credit card account? Possible?

Its a good deal. Take it.

I just applied mine with offer RM600 duitnow cash. Never had hsbc saving account. You can apply online banking once you get your card and view your card spending and balance via online banking. You can pay your card spending from other bank to your cc, the 16 digits is your cc card account number.

Spending RM1000, make sure its not ewallet or and spending listed on the exclusion list.  Enjoy.

Thank so much for your feedback.

Guess no harm trying to apply. nod.gif

I join the one in aug. Total points 49k. So news on winning the ipad.

I join coz aim for the macbook top spender. Total spend is 135k throughout the campaign, also no news on winning the macbook. Top 10 spender throughout the campaign.

Even tho didnt manage to win macbook, but i believe got 1 week i spend about 74k (all out on the campaign), still no news on winning the weekly ipad prize.

Unless they really not yet contact any of the winners

I think these kind of contests are scam.
Either they give out to their crony friends or it’s just pure luck LOL

I tried to enter similar contests in the past; hope to win iphone la, honda city la, etc

But i guess no harm in trying ya?

Just got a call from hsbc offering me cash advance & also supplementary card that will share the existing main card limit.

I declined it politely to the Sales advisor.

Does this has to do with my habit of always paying balance statement for nearly 3 months?

I was looking forward for them to offer me limit increment from rm10k to rm15k though. 😄

Beware of Ringgitplus scammers. More often than not, they will buat bodoh and not give you what you're entitled to unless you bamboo them about it. Must call/email and chase them, then only susah susah dapat. Padahal, should be given automatically lah upon fulfilment of T&C. I myself last year have to chase them, same with other people I know.

I don't understand why/how banks work with scummy Ringgitplus to be honest. But if you can fight for your rights, not too bad. You can easily get RM500 to RM800 vouchers. Just don't go for those where you can win iPad/iPhone all...that one very hard to percaya.

Someone told me that they count on people forgetting/not reaching out, and they pocket that for themselves.

True this!

Last time i signed up to get hsbc amanah platinum card and will get RM700 Lazada ewallet.
After spending >rm2k & after a month, i got an offer to receive a stupid dyson knockoff vacuum cleaner instead.
I emailed them back and gave peace of my mind, asked them to honor the RM700 lazada ewallet. 2 weeks after that, i finally got it.

So yes, you gotta keep on pressing them.

Just keep holding. I once was on hold for 45 minutes, so burned my whole morning. From ny personal experience, it takes the CS about 30 minutes to pick-up. Most probably flooded with fraud reports following the iPay88 data breach.

i waited for 1 HOUR also they never responded.

anyhow, i've sent email to them. hopefully they can rectify the situation soon.

Aduh...all the best. Worse come to worse, go to the nearest HSBC branch and bang table.

finally got hold of a CS after 45 minutes of waiting just now. rclxub.gif

Blocked the card, and they will send replacement within 7 days.
also, i need to fill up the dispute form and they will refund back the unauthorized transaction charges within 2 weeks.

another tip given from CS is to fill up your cc details when buying online MANUALLY (visually see your cc and fill up) and not saving them in the website/platform database for speedy payment.

example like Shopee.
i immediately removed all my ccs there.
will manually enter the details if i want to buy something/topup ShopeePay.

Shopee = ipay88, so go figure doh.gif

Try again on working days bro.

I tried calling on last thursday night near midnite, waited for 1 hour like you, then i gave up.
The next day, tried morning around 9am, 945am a CS responded.

Good luck to you and others too.

PS - my CIMB mastercard CC also kana this morning. doh.gif But i was amazed with CIMB CS hotline, waited only 5 minutes then they responded. Immediately blocked my cimb cc card and they will send a replacement within 7-14 working days.

i wonder, does all these related to the recent news that ipay88 platform is compromised?  hmm.gif

as seem recently it is multiple bank different cards affected.

and most transaction is small amount ie RM5 or USD1 or so.
*
Yes it is.

But when i told them about it, they kinda blurred and just gave few precautions on doing online transactions next time.

Just got my new HSBC card after i requested the old one to be blocked.

So guys, please be extra vigilant on your cc.
No more auto saving your cc details on websites/platforms especially Shopee/Lazada.
Then double triple check on which online web you going to pay.
Then remember which hypermarket/shop you use to paywave on the POS terminal.

Yes i know for the sake of speedy payment & convenience , but trust me, that convenience will be the trouble to you later on. icon_rolleyes.gif

Wish HSBC can use with Apple Pay Malaysia right now. yawn.gif
