Jobstreet didnt work for me either. What I did was I came up with a good cover letter and send it together with my resume to HR emails. Different cover letter for different organization/job.
You can get the emails through company websites under career/vacancy section or give them a call and ask to speak to any HR personnel.

PR & Singaporeans have this medishield life insurance that you cannot opt out right. It is a compulsory thing right?

Does it mean that they dont need to buy any hospitalisation & medical insurance from private companies such as Prudential, Great Eastern and etc?

Is deducted from your CPF (EPF) , it covers a minimum plan you can opt to upgrade but not out.

Suggestion is max out the premium on this insurance plan , then only think of buying another one in SG .

As for me,

They found my profile thru Monster and give me a call. I am currently earning MYR 3700, but they just offered me SGD 2600. I am satisfied with that. I didnt really mind the gap because all my commitments were in MYR and I'm earning SGD. After all the calculation, I bet I can save alot more...

Now currently waiting for my S-Pass approval. Might stay around Bedok later on. My workplace is at Changi South Lane...

After waiting for 2 weeks to advertise in SG job bank, my EP application is approved today. Applied on 30/10, so I am very happy with the efficiency.

So fast, I submitted my EP application form to SG company on 24th Oct and until today i did not get any news, checked with employer but they did not receive any update from MOM yet. sad.gif

Depends if your role is short-term only (e.g. they only hiring you for a year to fill in for a lady on maternity), or if it is memang long term just that they want flexibility of hiring contract vs hiring perm.

Banking line: Contract is the first to go whenever there is any cost cutting exercise, or if your role getting outsourced to KL or China or India.

Having said that I guess local SG banks are slightly more stable in this aspect.

thanks for the advise..

I will go for it and maybe try my best to find another job when the contract is nearing its end smile.gif

So if my friend has an existing plan in life insurance and hospitalisation & medical insurance? So he should just drop the H&S plan from Prudential and max out the Medishield premium?

Just continue if can afford , the catch in these insurance is about age you won't be able to get the cheaper tier if you buy later and alot of clause maybe excluded situation such as :
- Border line issue with blood pressure -> Heart related and stroke have limited or coverage with loading
- Border line issue with Blood sugar -> Sugar related treatment not cover eg: Diabetes
- Unhealthy BMI - > medical re-examination , healt reassessment loading will incur
- Smokers -> Lungs & heart may not be cover or limited coverage
- Drinkers -> liver & kidney related wouldn't or limited be covered

idea is take up young when you are healthy

Ì think H&S plan is fixed as in depends on age. For instance, age 20-30 fixed price, 30-40 fixed price. So even if drop and buy again also no difference in cost. Subject to underwriting.

But one mistake he made is that he bought life insurance coverage about 100k and premium per year is about SGD3k. He said he is very tight month to month. Asking me whether should he drop the current one and buy those cheapper term insurance.

What you guys think?

Dont worry just stay positive. BTW, what is the size of the company? Small / Big? I heard small companies will be scrutinized more.
Other reasons could be your degree / salary / experience. I believe the delay depends on which checks MoM is investigating.
