Guys I've never been to SG so I need help with my travel plans.
I need to find a way to get to International Business Park. I believe the nearest MRT to IBP is Jurong East but I still need to take a 10 mins cab ride or walk for 30mins.
Any suggestion?

Anyone has any idea how long it takes for HR to produce the offer letter based on the new hiring policy for foreigner?
I have other offers to respond to and I'm not so sure if I get the job in SG.

QUOTE(knwong @ Oct 15 2015, 07:20 AM) To get offer letter doesn't have anything to do with government at all. If the HR is focus in their work, within a day you can receive it To get Emplyment Pass that depends a lot on MOM. You are right. thanks. Just received the offer today. Have to wait 14 days before application of EP. Wonder why they didnt provide me with the offer letter to sign, instead straight away apply for EP.

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Oct 15 2015, 11:19 PM) Hmm... That's quite common I think. Coz EP takes time to process but they do include one clause in the offer letter saying that the job offer will be invalid if the work pass application got rejected. Ohh okay. well what are the chances of EP getting rejected nowadays? Its a junior position if you're wondering. This post has been edited by Dagger69: Oct 15 2015, 11:31 PM

QUOTE(the99percent1 @ Oct 16 2015, 07:41 AM) Are you earning minimum 3.3k? If no, high chance. 3.3k? No, slightly lesser than that. Even though I believe I deserve more since I have a couple of years in the industry. Cant complain much with the current economic downturn. I take what I can get. Appreciate the feedback. Hope everything goes well

QUOTE(JohnJon82 @ Oct 16 2015, 11:10 AM) If they think you don't qualify for EP, they will change you to S-Pass automatically. If your company still have the quota then you are ok. I guess so too. Even the form that I am filling in is the EP / SP Application Form. Yeap keeping my fingers crossed!

My medical report for MOM had already pass and taken, but the eyes checkup for my company 1 need to re-test with spec. Seem like I need to spend a bit more to go Singapore for the spec and eyes checkup, and then come back KL for notice period. lol, just crab abit and really appreciate for the helpful info at here... how much your rental near Yew Tee? I'm interested in that area too because there is a nearby gym few minutes from the MRT.

After waiting for 2 weeks to advertise in SG job bank, my EP application is approved today. Applied on 30/10, so I am very happy with the efficiency.

QUOTE(BacktoBasics @ Nov 3 2015, 03:07 PM) I tried applying in SG through jobstreet and such. Not many get back to me. Is the jobs in SG very competitive? Jobstreet didnt work for me either. What I did was I came up with a good cover letter and send it together with my resume to HR emails. Different cover letter for different organization/job. You can get the emails through company websites under career/vacancy section or give them a call and ask to speak to any HR personnel.

QUOTE(BacktoBasics @ Nov 3 2015, 03:47 PM) Noted with thanks. They always tend to say they prefer PR & Singaporeans. If everyone applying is PR, how do malaysians get chances to work at SG holding work passes? LOL Yes they do because less hassle. I contacted almost 20 employers in Singapore and most of them do prefer PR/SGporeans. Only 2 to 3 of them willing to consider me which is great because I dont need 20 offers, I only need 1. I'm not too sure about the number of people getting PR each year but they are not fighting for the same job. There are many new vacancies every week, keep trying. Alternative take IBP's shuttle bus, schedule and bus fare here: IBP Shuttle Bus ServiceMy company shifted out from IBP 5 years ago. Do you still remember where is the waiting/drop off/pick up area for the IBP's shuttle bus at Jurong East?

QUOTE(j3Vils @ Nov 5 2015, 09:51 AM) So fast, I submitted my EP application form to SG company on 24th Oct and until today i did not get any news, checked with employer but they did not receive any update from MOM yet. Dont worry just stay positive. BTW, what is the size of the company? Small / Big? I heard small companies will be scrutinized more. Other reasons could be your degree / salary / experience. I believe the delay depends on which checks MoM is investigating.
