Hi All,
I have a question for you guys. How did you guys manage to secure a job in Singapore? Mostly using agent, or directly hired by the company?

I just received an interview invitation on 27th evening at Changi. I have some question to ask,
1.I am from Seremban. Issit easier for me to go on my own transport, or using public transport (bus, flight, etc...) 2. Do I need a pasport, bcoz its just 1 day. Bcoz I heard there is special pass for Malaysians, if they go there just for a day. Thats all, thank you... |

QUOTE(deodorant @ Oct 22 2015, 09:44 AM) ghodul Yes you most certainly need passport. Last time donkey years ago can apply for some sort of limited travel doc valid only for SG but no no more d. QUOTE(yrh0413 @ Oct 22 2015, 09:47 AM) 1. Take KTM from Seremban to Woodlands SG in the morning, you should reach SG in the afternoon. From Woodlands to Changi you can take the MRT red line from Woodlands to City Hall, then switch to green line continue from City Hall to Changi. Book same day train tickets for night train back to Seremban to save on accomodation. Flight is possible too but it should be more expensive. 2. Definitely need a passport. QUOTE(crazy25kid @ Oct 22 2015, 10:53 AM) Thanks for the swift response. I have new question.1. The train system at Sg (MRT) is using cash, or some kind of card like Touch n Go? 2. What is the room rent rate for that place? |

QUOTE(almeizer @ Oct 23 2015, 10:59 AM) 1. You can use cash but a lot more expensive than card. The card is call EzLink. You can use for MRT, Bus, LRT and Taxi. Even pay for food also can for certain merchandise only. Noted on that. Thanks for the response.2. Depend on location, condition/type of the room, package (i.e. include aircond and utilities). It could be from 600 to 1200 per room. I will go there by plane, from KLIA2 to Changi Airport. The interview location is at Changi South Lane.... |

Hi all,
Just finish my 2nd iv around 12pm. The boss said to me that will proceed my hiring process after I manage to secure an accomodation in sg. My working location would be at Changi South Lane. Could yoy guys suggest me a good place to rent around that area. My budget is around 600 SGD/mth... Thanks... |

QUOTE(deodorant @ Oct 30 2015, 03:36 PM) Something wrong here. You can't rent any long term accommodation without proper immigration status (i.e., you need to get a work permit of some sort, otherwise you're not allowed to rent room or hdb). So your hiring formalities including application of the work permit must be done first. Will get back to the HR on this. I think my future boss just wanted my commitment to stay sg. Not janji kosong then stay at JB... |

I just emailed my HR regarding issue above. Below are her reply,
QUOTE Hi Ghodul, Any comment guys? You can proceed to hunt for a suitable accommodation and inform the landlord on the start date. Once your work pass is approve, we will send you the IPA, this act as proof of your immigration status. Update your landlord with your Work pass card once the registration is finalise. |

As for me,
They found my profile thru Monster and give me a call. I am currently earning MYR 3700, but they just offered me SGD 2600. I am satisfied with that. I didnt really mind the gap because all my commitments were in MYR and I'm earning SGD. After all the calculation, I bet I can save alot more... Now currently waiting for my S-Pass approval. Might stay around Bedok later on. My workplace is at Changi South Lane... |
