Hi usually how much salary can afford a HDB?
*
QUOTE(megadisc @ Oct 27 2015, 07:11 AM)
Yeah me want to know too

Especially if your are a foreigner

QUOTE(deodorant @ Oct 27 2015, 07:19 AM)
Not sinkie? The key stumbling block is saving up cash + cpf for the down payment. If you can save up enough for down payment then you can easily afford the monthly installments. As general guide, you need 30% of the hdb price in cash + cpf (i.e. 400k hdb need 120k up front).

1 month save sgd$4 can already. Save for 3 years since new PR also have to wait 3 years before can purchase HDB apartment. Total sgd$144 should be enough with some inflation.

Hi... Newbies here...

I just wanna check anyone working in StarHub as Telesales Exec? How is the pay and environment like?

Saw from jobstreet website http://www.jobstreet.com.my/en/job/4906880/origin/sg?fr=21

This recruitment firm is hiring people to work in Starhub, near Tai Seng.

They write like the comm + basic like not bad... can get up to 3K SGD... is about RM9K already...

I currently have offer to progress my career as Telesales Manager in KL. Don't know to accept or go SG StarHub?
*
don't convert la.. you working and living in SG.. unless you intend to stay in Jb, no point compare..

3k sgd is abit hard to live.. your rental alone is 1k+. It will be enough to cover, but no savings built, which is your intention if moving to SG to work right?

I guess the income is referring to household income. 1 person only need 3-4k per month. Which i think you still can having a very comfort life for your entire 'grace period' of 3 yrs before you apply for HDB.

1k is just their local benchmark , for True Breed Singaporean , those from another country still have their own home land to fall back to.

you'll be amaze there's still poverty in Singapore ( These are the people may have fall out from the rat race very badly , some are neglected/con/cheated by fam , some are too old , some are handicap ) . You can take a stroll around Beach Road's HDB , then you'll understand why.

For lower income group of Malaysian in SG will likely travel back to get a home , imagine earning 2k SGD travel in and out of JB easily more than 5k to spend .

Whether worth anot it's very individual, as of current situation in Malaysia can see that alot of people willing to give up the citizenship and take up Singapore Citizenship, reasons are very simple :
1) Housing benefits
2) Medical Benefits
3) Education Benefits
- more of a $$ factor

Other Push factor are :
1) Safety
2) Earning power
3) Lost sense of direction in home country
( career development , family development ) - working in an MNC will it move out the next instance ? Down Size ? , Is there still opportunity or even fair opportunity for next generation ?

4) Lost of confidence in home country/Gov
( This would hit anyone who feels that things arn't heading the right direction and you can't do anything to steer it around , in fact some have contributed but after years looking at it still nothing had improve infact became worst , the lost feeling is quite hollow )

5) Freedom of travelling - you'll appreciate the Freedom of oversea visit without limitation on Visa

There's only 1 big factor to make someone stay put in Malaysia - your friends and family.

Don't be tempted by the 9k Ringgit , calculate living cost base on SGD then convert only the balance, then compare it to your career advancement.

I estimate the saving build up is around 2-3k Ringgit , in return major sacrifice is :
No Car
Staying in Rented Room
Things will get little boring in SG -> need to find activity to do and at times requires $$

So you are making a decision due to peer pressure ? good luck to you then.

I would say try it out if you can, and if you can't handle/ don't like the lifestyle here, balik. Is not a bed of roses here in SG, and SG has its own set of problems as well smile.gif

Just go ahead , as a citizen u can take hdb loan at 90% .

As of now your CPF should be able to pay the stamp duty and other processing fees .

As of now if you have around 50-60k , actually u can scout for house d .
