Yea i think i got a little excited and pushed a little to far yesterday. Legs are extreme wobbly and the butt sore was terrible. Was planning for a night ride but have to cancel cause it stings!
Today i tested to ride and the sore was lesser so went on a leisure ride at desa park. Just got back but the pain didnt get worse. So i think you are rite..wasnt really the saddle but the intensity Also the terain today is less bumpy. Thanks for the tip etigge! I ride on a d16 btw biggrin.gif

I changed my saddle to a Selle Royal Gel and it still didn't help much. Finally added an "el cheapo" gel padded cover which I transferred fr an old MTB and I cud ride for an hr without much problemo biggrin.gif

You can reduce some weights by replacing the wheel spokes to double butted, carbon fork, pedal with titanium spindles etc.... But sure the wallet gonna be ligther.

The date chosen is quite busy. I mean the roads. Please be extra careful, especially on the Batu Feringghi stretch which is narrow and heavy traffic. Enjoy your round island thumbup.gif

Haha..i was very reluctant to change saddle cuz its expensive and reluctant to wear tights cuz i just dont like it tongue.gif
As for me, like what etigge said, its about getting used to the ride. Ive been riding everyday since i gotten my bike and the pain is gradually going away. No pain no gain

I was riding yesterday on rainy weather and my bike is dirty and sandy. Some of those sands got to my seat post so when i lowered it the sands got inbetween the seat post, clamp and are grinding it. Need to wash it.

So i am planning to get wax and lube today. Any suggestion on the brand and where to get it? I read in v2 some saying the singer lube is too thin and wont work properly. What should i get instead? Also for the wax, i checked bbs and those wax machiam expensive. They look like pomade wax for hair.

Also..can i use wd40 to clean the chain cogs and cranks?

Planning to get a folding bike

1. TRS 20-25 - RM450
2. Nakxus 20" Alloy - RM550 (Free Helmet)

Which one better in terms of performance?
Both also made in Alloy

I cant find Nakxus 6 speed specification

Never use WD-40 for cleaning the drive train components. If there's rust on static components , like screws or folding mechanisms, it is OK but not on the chains, cassettes and RD. It will wash off every bit of lube and makes fresh lube cannot adhere to the components. Singer oil is too fluid and after a few kilometers it will thin out and dissappear and if you put more, the lube will attract more grit and also splash the lube all over the chain stay, especially the hard to wash part. tongue.gif

I usually use kerosene. Can be bought in Ace Hardware. What I usually do is, put the bike on a rear stand. Then with a brush, I dipped it in kerosene and wash the chain rings, cassette and chain. If the RD and FD are dirty I brush them too. Keep brushing till the old lube comes off. Then hose off gently with water. Then only the soap and brush comes in. Clean the whole bike and then dry it. Only then a fresh lube (I use Finish Line) and dab it link by link. icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry guys noob question.
I read in forums where people advise to grease your joints, or bearings or between the shim and seat tube.
Do we use chain lube or something else?
Do they mean the thick gooey stuff when they say grease?

I kinda have problems with the seat post sliding down after riding for awhile unless I tighten the seat post clamp like hell. Which I feel I shouldn't have to cause never had this problem before.

Thanks sifu etigge. Saved your tips on how to clean the drive train. I just went to ace hardware and bought a white lithium spray grease and a spray on chain lube by qplus. Didnt see any finish line brand lube until i went to rodalink after that sweat.gif
Gona try with the spray lube 1st and see how it goes.
I think you can start your own bike upgrade and service center ady ettige..you are too good. Just do it from home and via pm here in forum haha
