Your choice mentioned are almost all on the same specs. Performance wise is probably similar as well. Dahon Speed P8 is reliable and an old horse. SO far no Speed users have complains, including myself. It's easy to upgrade later as well. Now with SRAM components, it's better than the Neos used last time. Probably the only needed upgrade is the shifter as Dahon propriety shifter is lousy! Anyway, it's less than 100 bucks for both left and right thumb shifters. As for Vigor and MU , these are faster models (so they say lah

) but usually a rider is as fast as the slowest rider in a group. Hahaaa

When you ride with your kids, you have to wait for them too, right? You are not wrong either in choosing either one of the mentioned. I preferred Speed for the chromoly frame which is not as harsh when riding as the aluminium frames. That's because I sometimes ride long distance.
As for Tern models, they also have the same specs but Tern seems to be trapped in a time zone. There are no new models from them. The Link and the Verge are the only 2 frame patterns for 20 inch models. In fact, the Verge is actually the Dahon Vector and the new Dahon Vector are now the Vigor similar like frames now. The performance is almost similar to the Dahon aluminium models but it loses out in the handlebar design. That's why Dahon patented it. It's OK if you like Tern designs, but for the higher price paid for it, I see no distinct advantages over the Dahons.
Happy Riding. Nice to see riders riding with the family.

Gonna vouch for the Speed P8, a fellow happy owner here as well. Chromoly steel ftw! it's a bit on the heavy side but it rides soooo awesome over rough roads. Not to mention also abundant accessories parts from taobao haha
Still prefer it over Mu though because of the triagle frame design that's easier to carry around when folded (one more bar to hold on to) and also putting it on bicycle stand for maintenance.
My P8 is still stock with the crappy Dahon's shifter and Neos RD but give due credit, I have only adjusted it once after I got the bike and have never experience any bad shifting (crunching, not shifting up/down etc) even after 500km of riding. No doubt though that the SRAM will be better.
Another thing that may be worth changing for P8 would be the brake levers. Didn't really like the original ones and feels much better after I changed it to the Avid FR5
