wah suddenly thread exploded with RYZEN in here it seems laugh.gif rclxms.gif

I know, but last time we have the cheapest highest end at RM999. Sad. I thought when I start to work, this things becomes more approachable, but now seems like it's getting further and further away. T.T
Yeah, definitely they need to show their best for the mainstream first. They said they're returning to compete Intel at the top of the crop level, it would not make such a bang to see the Ryzen 3 series beat Core i3 with 10% more performance at 30% lower price. Hehe. I'm really eager too to see what they bring to the table this time, planning for an AMD system this year. smile.gif

haha glad i took my intel while slightly increase over 1099 back in 2015 laugh.gif rclxms.gif

Ya I know. Me too tongue.gif. But at least from Ryzen 7 official benchmark, we can see how it perform in games compared to skylake. If the R7 performance difference compared to skylake, then you can decide since R5 is just the lower part of the SKUs.

eh, after searching around. Ryzen 3 1200x is rm779 ( usd 149) and its actually the same spec as i5 7500 rm900. Amd is actually cheaper and extra 2mb L3 cache. drool.gif

If your machine is for both work and play, Ryzen helps heaps.

For gaming - both will run quite similarly.

Yes, but the progress is just too slow. We've been saying that for more than 5 years.

Not sure but I blame Intel ( also AMD ) dominance, quad core been mainstream for too many years.

That was due to poor Bulldozer single threaded performance, it is even worse than the old K10. sweat.gif By having just 80% of Kaby Lake's single threaded performance, the processor should deal with games that requires single threaded performance no longer an issue, and now it comes with more cores, making it more usable now.

Pretty sure that is done with a hefty overclock and probably with water cooling if not better solution. If Ryzen beat Kaby in single threaded with slight overclock we probably see AMD slide about that. tongue.gif

7700k at 5.2 get 2.5k+ single threaded score.
