dont worry your 290xs will be reliable for at least 2 generation gap (but on your reso, 4gb vram is a bit worrying).. nvm ill showcase to you my 390x later   

It has always been like that. Only the top-tier cards would be something new.

Like HD 7790 to R7 260X, the only difference is R7 260X has TrueAudio and consumes a little more power.

When you introduce a whole new line-up at once, there's bound to be old stuff being renamed.

Nvidia's done that before as well, renamed / rebadged like silly before.

390x alone is cost near to RM2k, which should be rivaling 980 instead.

I've not come by many people, other than empire23 and myself, that's capable of (or more like INTENTIONALLY)  generating more than 200W per second power draw.

You look at most people's usage, they'll probably game.

Gaming for 5 hours? pfftt, that barely loads the CPU and GPU to reach the full power draw of each, to the power draw fluctuates.

To give you an idea, my Core i5-4670K without GPU idles at 40w power draw, on 100% processor load (video encoding) it draws 125w from the wall. Running cards like say the Fury X or Radeon R9 390X on Furmark stress test drains some 360w from the wall. If you add Full CPU load to it it'll probably reach 420w on the wall.

Again that 420w is from extreme circumstances where all items are stressed.

LOL if people think that putting 4 high-end graphic cards and 1200w PSU immediately raises your electricity bill to the roof. It doesn't.

If you see your electricity bill raised - monitor your air cond usage perhaps?

AMD just taped out their first FinFet chips recently and that is most likely for their Zen lineup. There's no information on which process node though, 16nm/14nm.

Hopefully they can bring back the old days of Phenom II - a competitive CPU for a non-wallet breaking price tag.

bro, just wanna say if you are planning to upgrade your fx8350 to 4770k/4790k, the performance jump is just not worth it.. wait for newer processor from both camp. trust me ive been through it and in gaming, i dont really feel the upgrade.. just 5-10fps more in heavy cpu games..

I donno what's this AMP stuff (first time hearing) but I'm set XMP profile on my ASUS A88X-Pro so yeah, I think it'll work just fine with XMP.

What about the FPS? Unchanged?

If we do a direct conversion, the 380x should be priced around 900++ to 1100, but we know that won't happen because that's the price of 380 in local stores currently
