Very unlikely as ADSL 'package' itself is cash cow to TM.
I agree ADSL eventually be decommissioned one day, but the same speed/price/package will remain same.

Something like RM 140 4Mbps.......with fiber.....instead of copper........ laugh.gif

because of coverage. For those who has no unifi coverage, obviously they need to stuck on streamyx plan. So TM has no need to worry that no one is using this old infra. while tm progressively extend the coverage and ports availability for unifi. They do not really need to take care of the streamyx users at all as the ports availability will only be more and more given the fact that ppl are going for unifi as long as it is covered.

From the regularly update on price, package, u can easily tell that the focus now is unifi and not streamyx.

Obviously tm won't be bother to upgrade the infra for existing streamyx customers and the limitation of ADSL technology.

over time, the price per GB between unifi and streamyx will become bigger and bigger gap, not to mention abut the totally significant big big big gap in upload speed.

Nope, there will be no upgrade for faster speed with same price in year 2017.
TM already said it clearly, there will be value package (marketing jargon decrypted ---> Mean price reduction for existing subscribers only) for streamyx.

Oh ya, did I mention my inside source say TM will NAT 4Mbps subscribers behind private IP address soon?

-.-....

This is normal stuff when your adsl/router got assigned with private IP range. Can easily open port/port forward/DMZ etc.

Attached Image
This is double NAT scenario......if you need some port to be opened or traffic on certain port to be forward to your own adsl/router........do you think TM will do that at their exchange for you? mega_shok.gif

I think I oversimplify it.....

Staying with Streamyx because it is cheap (below RM100/month)
of course I would like to have UniFi speed, but UniFi package is expensive

When I was on 1mbps and 4mbps, i often torrented at the full speed of my connect, when condition were right.
Don't confuse lack of seeders or many seeders who throttled their upload rate, with ISP throttling.
And I am a light user, so am probably not targeted for throttling by TM. YMMV.

Nothing to deal, it is your problem not TM's problem so you must pay the termination fee. If you report up to CFM they wont help you also.
