Can. 4Mbps. at 480kb/s. Some others here can proven it as well.
*
torrenting without VPN sometimes can hit 400kB/s. is this because I disabled all firewall/security settings in the modem?

so today my 4mbps line went crazy and I got this:
[attachmentid=5771699]

Been clicking retrain multiple times but still same and some time worse like 640kbps downstream. what to do icon_question.gif
*
I experienced this long time ago on our 20 years old house. What I did, you take out the RJ11 wire from the splitter, then try to touch/short the 2 black telekom lines till you see some sparks. if I'm not mistaken the voltage is low power DC 48V, so it is harmless.

the result, I get a normal attainable speed, normal downstream again. if still not ok, try other modem, if it is still bad then u need to report to TM and show this status to them.

just to compare. TM installer generously spare those thick RM 5/m black line cable right to my splitter which is located 7-8 meters away. normally the indoor cable is much thinner using the grey insulated type. this might improve the overall SNR and reduce the attenuation.

How much did your attenuation drop after changing indoor cable to the TM black cable?
*
I don't know, I don't have the indoor cable, so the TM guy, simply connect those black thick telephone line directly to our spliter inside. but judging from the attenuation level in dB. I can say it is low

My sis from Melaka was telling me that she was offered "Tawaran Streamyx 4Mbps dgn tablet percuma" for rm88/month + "Call Plan Voice 10" for additional rm10. With GST total is rm103.90.

But when I checked TM website, the BB deals 4Mbps @ rm148.40, a diff of rm44.50. Why the diff?
*
It is legit deal strictly on selected area. I'm using it now and yes it is cheap RM 88 @ 4mbps

My brother in Melaka recently signed up the special package of Streamyx Home (Device) 4.0M RM88+Pakej Voice RM28. After using for a few months and with the launching of Webe, he found that Webe suits him better. But then the streamyx came with a contract of 24 months. I am a longtime user of 1Mbps Streamyx(rm60+10) in JB.

What about:
1. Transfer his 4MB Streamyx plan to me then I sign up WEBE but use by him.
2. He will signed up TM for voice plan ONLY.
Can these be done while keeping our TM fixedline numbers?
*
ask your brother to change address to JB (your location) using his account. if your location in JB got 4mb, i think should not be a problem.

now i think the voice package RM 28 is a must on top of the RM 88. mine last year RM 88 only, no need voice can sign up
