anybody who are using iPhone having shitty connection updating apps or downloading apps from the apps store when connecting to steamyx this few days ? mine's like not moving at all while browser, fb, instagram are fast. i switch to cellular network the update straight become fast. strange

something wrong with my stock combo modem-router provided by TM. sometimes if i connect internet using LAN, internet will get disconnected and unable to login. i have to remove the LAN cable and restart the combo modem-router to get internet back. i thinking of changing it. i currently on 4mpbs. any good brand/model you all can recommend? budget RM300 (sorry i didn manage to run through all the post in this forum, i not sure anybody has posted this question before)

Why u said his adsl stats are bad? From what I see, those are very good adsl stats.

6dB or below	Bad and will encounter frequent disconnection and ADSL sync problem.
7dB-10dB	Acceptable but could have disconnecting issue.
11dB-20dB	Good with no sync problem.
20dB-28dB	Excellent.
29dB or above	Outstanding

20dB and below is outstanding
20dB-30dB is excellent
30dB-40dB is very good
40dB-50dB is good
50dB-60dB is poor and may experience connectivity issues
60dB or above is bad and will experience connectivity issues

With his stats, I believe he can maxed out adsl2+ speed. Not stuck at 12mbps..

Normally for 4mbps package, if ur dsl modulation are set to auto sync , it will select adsl2+.

Theoretically around 24mbps iinm.

i tried direct phone line to modem, same prob still persist, i doubt there is something wrong with my house wiring, but im not quite experience on this, 1st time kena such prob

how to read it?

well today tm technician come to my house to fix the SNR issue. they are telling me that the dslam open port speed to fast at 25mbps instead of 4mbps and the modem cant hold the speed therefore my SNR get a worst 8db..

afew minutes later after the technician makes call about correction the port to 5mbps..my SNR IMPROVED!! im getting around 28-30db!!

but

im alittle bit confuse when i do some personal experiment after the fix..what i do is :

modem router is set to default setting wish it use ADSL2+ & ADSL2 mode..
im getting 28-30db of SNR
my google ping is 59ms
speedtest ping is 29ms

then i change setting to

modem router set to G.dmt (G992.1) mode only
im getting 21.8db
BUT
my google ping is 9ms
speedtest ping also at 9ms
FYI when choosing ADSL2/ADSL2+ mode..my line getting stable straight line in speedtest insted g.dmt which is a little bit up and down to the whole process of speed test

im more into online gaming...so guys any advice on which mode to use??..as both mode giving me diffrent ping duration..which is better??..help help

In short, the DSL Light will just blink blink blink and no light on the 'Internet' LED.  This begun to happen only recently - meaning for months to years no change in computer or equipment, it never happened - but out of the blue this disconnection problem occurs intermittently eg every 15mins or so

I thought that the Streamyx phone number / line is tied hard mapped to the Streamyx account id hence even if one's id and password is hacked (eg if its made know to  you), you wont be able to use it at your physical location.

Do you guys experience issues where the Streamyx router intermittently resets a connection to a server when the download cap is reached ? Say if you're on 4Mbps, when you reach 4Mbps (aka 500 KBps) download, the router resets your connection.

I experienced this many times in torrents and downloading tutorial videos.

IF I do not limit my downloads to less than 500KBps, the connections are constantly reset, means my download drops to 0KBps. And because this happens so frequently, my download never reaches full speed.

So what I did was limit the download on my downloading software to 100KBps for each download. With this the connection is smooth and the connection won't get reset. 

This happens to torrent as well. If I do not limit torrent downloads to 450KBps, when the download hits 500KBps, the connection resets. I can't surf, I can't do anything. The only solution is limit torrent speed.

I suspect the TM router is configured in a way to stop us from constantly hitting the maximum download. Any thoughts here?
