found that Bezza's (1NR-VE) oil recommendation is 0w-20 as found labelled on the inside of the engine bay (the hood).
does this means we can depending on cheap and cheerful 0w-20 oil from perodua soon?? rclxms.gif rclxms.gif because a 0w20 oil is generally expensive on the market

The term 'affordable' varies by individual actually. I am not too sure about your budget.
A decent grade fully syn XW-30 usually costs from RM150/bottle.

I think Axia is using the green bottle Perodua Fully Syn 0W-20. It shouldn't be expensive.

zhapalang (kepong/aeon metro prima there) is my go-to places for workshop/engine oil.

and they sell genuine oils as i've personally verified with respective distributors via email.
examples: Motul = High N for local distro

amsoil is just nearby sg buloh with dodgy amoil (yes they ironically also sell locally made oil while being the distributor for amsoil as well) sign board https://www.google.com/maps/@3.199927,101.6...#33;6m1!1e1
viscon lubricants sdn bhd.

QUOTE
Chevron Malaysia today officially launched the new Caltex Delo 400 MGX SAE 15W-40 diesel engine oil to meet the needs of Malaysian commercial industry players in the country. With the new lubricant, customers are now able to utilise just one heavy duty engine oil that operates efficiently with both high- and low-sulphur diesel fuels.

“The oil and gas industry in Malaysia produces a mix of low and high sulphur diesel fuel which ranges between 15 and 5000 parts per million (ppm). The introduction of the Caltex Delo 400 MGX SAE 15W-40 is proof of our commitment and goal to providing customers with ground-breaking products, which not only boost performance, but reduce operating costs as well, while keeping their diesel equipment operating reliably,” said Lennard Kwek, Asia Pacific marketing manager, Chevron Lubricants.

The new engine oil features ISOSYN Technology additives in its formulation to provide excellent soot dispersancy, along with wear protection and sludge control to help protect against loss of engine life and excessive oil consumption. Being a multi-grade oil, customers will also benefit from not requiring multiple diesel engine oils to service their vehicles.

Furthermore, Caltex Delo 400 MGX adheres to the latest American Petroleum Institute (API) specification as well as many American and European Original Equipment Manufacturers’ (OEM) approvals. The company also claims that the lubricant has an 80,000 km drain interval, which should help reduce operating costs.

Priced at RM9.50 per litre, the newly-launched Caltex Delo 400 MGX SAE 15W-40 is currently available in drum packaging through the company’s official distributors here.

super cheap and crazy mileage, and its API SM certified for petrol/gasoline vehicle usage.
as per my post there:
QUOTE
interesting that they passed API with so much detergent to withstand 80k km intervals laugh.gif
https://engineoil.api.org/Directory/EolcsRe...yName%3Dchevron
redundant licensing as well, not sure whats the difference (in batch or?)
page 1 and 3 got same MGX, just letter casing difference so far? or i might be missing something

then there's brazil licensing of the same MGX (its still under Chevron, just refined/packed at brazil)
https://engineoil.api.org/Directory/EolcsRe...yName%3Dchevron

so, anyone up for it?

Many people sort of claimed one need to use Fully Synthetic for mere 10,000 km. But I have friends using Mineral in turbo charged diesel for 10K or 15K OCI and never have any problem. Now here's a mineral claiming 80,000 km OCI.

i wouldn't know.

what i do know from random quick google, is it has high TBN:
https://cglapps.chevron.com/msdspds/PDSDeta...1&docFormat=PDF
although it is not in english, the ASTM D2896 = TBN:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_base_nu...c_Determination
http://www.pqiamerica.com/TBN.htm

also from google, while this may not be the newer MGX, and it IS caltex/chevron sales pitch... however still good for reference:

We have been using ISOSYN oil for many many years. 5K, 10K and even 20K OCI and so far none of us have engine oil related problem. AFAIK, they were the first to comply with JASO standard for Japanese diesel.
