i always think changing semi syn oil at 5,000KM is a waste....i believe i will stick to the 10,000KM requirement (or near to that) as per the manual~~just to make sure the engine gets its warranty~~

i am not sure about syn 1000's lifespan, please consult your SC.

Really need help from these 2 months Preve buyers.

My main issue now is the 5 yrs warranty. Where is it written that the engine is under the 5 yrs warranty? 5 yrs warranty is rather vague. Warranty list only says 3 yrs for the engine.

I have checked with my SA and his manager and they cannot find it in black and white saying the engine is under the 5 yrs warranty.

I have also called the Proton icare and the guy says the engine is under 5 yrs warranty. But when I asked where it is written in black and white that the engine is under 5 yrs warranty, he referred me to the SC in my town. This is giving me a headache. Maybe I should just give up proton and get something else.

Yeah about 25 pages, read it yday but the last 10 pages was purely one forumer bashing another one. It's 100% plug & play so not an issue with the warranty anyway.

great sharing bro.... i did read similar content online article before(can't recalled the link) and 5K engine oil change for non-mineral(syn oil) is kind of waste and also that article claimed 5K is just nice for engine oil starting serve better to our engine.... who right who confuse and who misleading... in fact i'm bit lost

In my service booklet, there state warranty for 60 months or 150k km whichever come first.
For the cover parts, included, engine, transmission, aircond, I will capture picture and upload later.

for 5 years warranty stated in booklet, its for basic warranty coverage.. there got mentioned about it..

for specific warranty coverage is only power window is 10 years/xxxxxxkm..

then other parts like engine, brake, transmission, is all 36 months or 150000km only.. try look again.. but in first page, many previous users mentioned we will get another 2 years extended warranty from proton. im not sure.. may call to WeCare and ask see afterwards.. i dont care. since their system sure got our record.. why care about this..

That is my concern. Stated in the warranty list that the engine is covered for 3 yrs only. Proton staff verbally says engine is covered for 5 yrs. Say after 3 yrs, my engine rosak, they can just refer to the 3 yrs warranty stated in the list and not cover the repair. Verbal warranty does not hold water here any more.

Thus I prefer to get in black and white on the 5 yrs engine warranty.

Why is Proton so evasive on this extended 5 yrs engine warranty?
