NICE!
I'm applying loan for Manual Preve.
But now wondering white or silver better....
The silver act doesn't have so much metalic feel right?
*
Planning to get one too.

On colour, planning to get one which can be easily seen by others for safety. White/silver/black are thus not in my list. White/silver/grey are just too common. Black is too dark. Red is too red for me. Ha.

So thinking of brown or blue.

All the best.

my case is on second penang bridge.. totally wasted if we didn't try to run with top speed  drool.gif  drool.gif

kidding.. really not much people.. so i will use to maintain the speed at 110km/h.. waiting my car to come.. just sign agreement today.. so waiting car from KL which take few days i think while waiting my house finished renovate too.. timing so accurate.. haha.. but so excited and wish want to get my car right now..

Can see that you are very keen to get your new car.

But from what I read, be careful with the initial engine "burnt in" of your car. Don't push it too hard for the first thousand km. Gently gently first. Only go for the top speed later.

so first thousand cannot hard push to as top as we can?? need keep below 100km/h?? i heard some people say cannot, some say need go as high as we can so in future engine only powerful.. so which method is better??
*
I am with the slow burn in camp (<90 kph). Why? Even with modern technology, nothing fixes in so perfectly. The pistons and cylinders will see high tear and wear on first use. Thus the first service after 1000 km to remove the metal debris in the motor oil.

My 2 cents. I am sure the other camp will disagree with my reasoning.

Not necessary true. My wife's car seats are very good with no such issues as reported...it is infact very comfortable way way much better than my brother MyVi

I hope you are right as I am planning to get a Preve.

I thought the keyless start is a good thing but now, I am getting confused after reading and watching some youtube videos on starting Preve. Now prefer the normal key.

In my test drive, the sales staff showed me how to start, insert the "thing", press on the brake pedal, press the start button. That is.

On stopping, press on the brake pedal, and press the start/stop button.

This is not the right way?

Thanks.

The warranty issue really worried me. It seem like little modification will void it. Wondering the 5 years warranty is good or bad
*
I have read the warranty booklet and I still don't know what are covered for the 5 yrs. Engine only for 3 years.

Help!

Serious? Engine got 3 years warranty only?
Really wondering what's 5 year warranty cover.
*
That is exactly what I was asking myself after reading the warranty list. May be I read it wrongly. I have posted some questions, see my thread in the previous volume.

Another surprise is, owner will have to send the car for yearly inspection on the body to qualify for the body corrosion warranty. What is the cost?

On the 3 vs 5 yrs warranty, note the following from page 1. Hope this is the case!

2. Warranty Issue:
Rest assured that all new Proton Preve comes with 5 years warranty. Manual book printed 3 years but another certification will be sent to your address which comes with extended 2 years warranty. If not, call the proton i care and fucuk them.

Correct way is just a 2 step . Incorrect starting steps can throw the electronics haywire. My friend never bother n always start car in so many different ways that one day his car failed to start

Insert key nob. Press start button n it will lit up yellow
Press brake n once you see lit up as green press start button hard in .

Noted and thanks.

Worried me earlier when people mentioned the long winded way of starting the car. Why so difficult. so many steps?

Seeing quite a number of new Preve owneers raising issues with their new Preve. Some may be minor but personally I do not expect this number of complaints especially with a brand new car!

Now having second thought on getting Preve Premium. Saying to myself that very likely I will also be complaining here about some problems when I get my new Preve!

Any new Preve owners without any issues with their new Preve?

Seems like the production still hasn't fixed the problems. I too received my car with some problems, noticeably the grinding sound from the back and the driver and front passenger seats.

But, like you can always occasionally read in this thread, these problems can be fixed at SC, just set an appointment. Yeah it's a hassle, but you should pretty much know that Proton is still struggling with the QC department biggrin.gif
*
My fear with SC is more problems may surface after the service if they do not know what they are doing. Heard some SC staff are on the learning curve.

I thought one ex BMW director (or Mercedes') was recruited by Proton as the QC director for Preve. Yet, so many issues. He did not do a good job then. Ha.

Must be very excited and looking forward to your new TOY! Ha.

Hope that you can help me with this.

I read it that Proton has done predelivery inspection before shipping the car out. Like to know the list of things they check, if you don't mind scanning the mentioned list.

I wonder, if they do the predelivery check, why then new Preve owners still complain about the noise, etc etc in this forum. The paper is just for the formality only?

*
Waiting for my car?

No. Belum book yet. Why? Some issues I need to clarify first AND the salesman is not that interested in doing my business. Maybe he is not the push push salesman. Ha.

I have also contacted Proton seeking clarifications. No reply even after a week. This brings up one thing I learn some years ago when buying a PC. The advice is, when you have problem in calling the company WHEN YOU WANT TO BUY A PC, and the company is difficult to get in contact with, just imagine the difficulty you will face when you need to contact them for service/repair after you have bought the PC. Same thing with this car purchase.

All the best with your new car!

correct.. worry too much problem will just stop them to buy anything.. i feel very great and happy for this preve.. even though i havent get my new car, still in proton there.. but i do test drive once before.. i feel very good coz im driving proton iswara aeroback and proton tiara only.. preve is a very big upgrade from myself.. many ppl stop me and ask me dont buy proton coz useless and no resale value.. ask go for city, vios or almera.. but i compare those car with preve, around 70k one all are expensive than preve but with no specs.. safety feature, inbuilt feature preve is the best ady.. i dont want buy 1 kosong car with just expensive on brand name.. for me just same, i better buy proton preve.. we have to accept the current situation where foreign national car is expensive than national car coz of tax.. at least in this moment.. no point go buy a kosong car and pay installment so suffer..

got issue or not after that will know ady.. any problem just rectify with sc only lo.. confirm will take my car on tuesday ady.. after that only post up my feedback on it..  smile.gif
**Not try to condemn other brand car ya.. yes they are good.. but i cant afford.. i prefer highest specs of car.. so if compare highest specs within T,H,N,P1.. still P1 cheaper a lot.. paiseh, i cant be with my friends which income only 2200 but buy honda city V specs.. so i cant make it..
*
Agree with you on the money one pays and the goods one gets especially for imported cars. The taxes for imported cars do not show up in the car, just go to the govt pocket. Compared to Preve, for about the same price (which I checked for Almera), Almera is just very basic. Preve has tons of added features, air bags, GPS, etc etc.

Wish that Proton will improve on its product quality immediately! Ha.

Like to know whether there will be a Merkeda Preve promotion.

Is it the norm for proton to have promotion during every HR, Merdeka, New Year etc?

Thanks.
