Dear Sifi Here,

Now planning for
1. Engine break in - Which approach better?
2. Windows tinted? any recommendation? How about the new law, seem no update already?
3. HU with reverse camera? Is it necessary, I heard that the reverse senor and view of preve is not good enough.

Thanks.

Reverse sensor - continuous beep within 30cm+- from obstacle, to me that's good enough
*
Thanks, I'll tried first then only decide.

QUOTE(vikneswaranc_17 @ Jul 12 2014, 11:45 AM)
Just break in like normal.. dont drive to fast before 1st service.. (soft break in) or drive hard and perform oil change right after that (usually done before 50km)
*
Thanks for your sharing bro.
Which method you use actually, mind to share?

This is pretty individual preference.

The reverse sensor is sufficient to gauge the distance in most circumstances..

But the reverse camera will give an extra visibility on the objects behind especially children/animals/pets and etc ..

But the best practice whether you have camera or not is to always make sure your surrounding is clear before reversing. Walking towards your car back and observing before getting in to reverse may be necessary and the most safest. Sometimes camera also could have blind spot.
*
Agree, it's a good practice.

Yes.. now all commercial banks waiting for memo from Bank Negara. Once received then sure increase the interests.. I do study economics trend with my lecturer.. so we know about the trend.. now is back to good economic aady, thats why interests will increase.. luckily i get the loan approved first.. hahaha  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif
i think first 500km i will run it slowly slowly.. then next 500km i will sometime push hard and sometime normal..

which car u get? CFE or Exec?? if CFE, it will got EcoTint solar and security tinted film ady.. but if u want remove and put new layer i suggested VKool. Mostly luxury car using this. really good during driving.. under hot sun, wont feel body or hand get burn.. price 2.5k like that for full sedan car..

reverse camera i think need also but i no dare to install.. coz CFE all come and connected to 1 module.. if we modify the wire or anything, later warranty sure void.. just leaave it as original eeverything.. just used to it..
*
I'm getting EXEC so that's why I'm looking for tinted. I think VKool is out of my budget.

QUOTE(vikneswaranc_17 @ Jul 12 2014, 11:00 PM)
i did the 1st method.. but right before the 1k service, i whacked the car up to 180-190km/h..
*
Ok, Thanks rclxms.gif

Hi,

Has anyone of you install the reverse and rear mirror with LCD screen ?

Like this:
*
I'll choose this kind of rear mirror if there's necessary to install reverse camera for my exec.
Going to collect my car within this week, need to test then only know is necessary or not

Yo.. if you can find one in penang that does not cut or strip wire... let me know.
I surveyed a few - all also dunno how to do without cutting or stripping.
*
I found many reverse camera power is supplied by reverse light.
So once reverse light on, it will trigger the reverse camera to works.
It's the easiest way I know, so if do like that I think at least need some wire cutting in reverse light.

Dear all,
Please advise if there's any others method could work to supply reverse camera power.
Thank you.

Just insert wire into existing socket

If like that I think reverse camera is possible to install without wire cutting.
Just need screw hole above number plate.

Anyone owing a MANUAL Preve ? I see most people buying exe and cfe. Now i am still considering whether to go for auto or manual...
*
Mine is Manual. Car arrived since last thursday but my number plate not yet come out.
See today can get or not.
So can't give any comment for that.
At first I'm waiting for CFE MT but from last year until now then give up.

I love to drive Manual, and there's no much traffic jam I'll be involved frequently, so there's no problem for me to make decision.

most probably yes get 3k discount + 3 years free service (labor+parts) if u success to register your car in July.. Probably i scare too late for you.. I mean REGISTER with Plat.. probably this discounts things u have to discuss with your SA personally..

ya if u want full loan sure need apply with higher amount car. Example Preve EXEC 63k.. loan from bank confirm is only 90% of 63k.. so if want get full loan sure need get CFE to get full loan of 63k.. if u want get CFE of full loan, a bit hard.. but if SA and banker willing help, should no problem..

personally what i get is extra 1k from SA, smart RM120, Full petrol RM100, umbrella and car cover.. my car everything is ready for me collect.. but i havent go yet.. probably tmr or wednesday only will go take my car..
*
bro, really hope change my condition with you.
haha. Everyday saw my car there but can't drive.

Lol, my number plate ready. Should collect my car by today or tomorrow.
Will share my experience after that.

QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Jul 21 2014, 01:48 PM)
haha cannot anymore.. tmr will go take my car ady.. just contact my SA.. i also hope to get the car ASAP but just because drag by the renovation progress.. but done ady by today.. so tmr can take the car..
yes i understand you. but out there as many young ppl cannot really to afford a new car easily with their own financial.. so the only way is drag to 9 years.. its actually depend on person lo.. in accounting term, yes, car will depreciated for 5 years in business.. but in private, probably depreciate by 10 years.. salary in msia average is normal only. but most of capable person will choose for 3 or 5 years loan lo.. since high DP..

example i can give here is most of my friends, some family dont have any car/some have car but not enough transport.. my friends just all graduated and need transport to work.. so mostly family background not so strong.. even 10% dp also some problem.. but they forced to buy a car for work.. that why banker will got 9 years car loan for people..
*
ok, seem we will get our car at the same days.

Like to know whether there will be a Merkeda Preve promotion.

Is it the norm for proton to have promotion during every HR, Merdeka, New Year etc?

Thanks.

I believe there will be another promotion for Merdeka.
It's depends whether the promotion is suit your need or not.

Another attractive promotion, I think will be the year end stock clearance.

Really need help from these 2 months Preve buyers.

My main issue now is the 5 yrs warranty. Where is it written that the engine is under the 5 yrs warranty? 5 yrs warranty is rather vague. Warranty list only says 3 yrs for the engine.

I have checked with my SA and his manager and they cannot find it in black and white saying the engine is under the 5 yrs warranty.

I have also called the Proton icare and the guy says the engine is under 5 yrs warranty. But when I asked where it is written in black and white that the engine is under 5 yrs warranty, he referred me to the SC in my town. This is giving me a headache. Maybe I should just give up proton and get something else.

Hope that you guys can help. Thanks.

In my service booklet, there state warranty for 60 months or 150k km whichever come first.
For the cover parts, included, engine, transmission, aircond, I will capture picture and upload later.

in manual book it state 3 years.. but there are another 2 years extended will send to us.. refer first page there also do stated. no need to worry d.. after 5 years total lost also 70k.. buy foreign car also got risk to be broken.. as long as there are still able to repair then its ok ady..
*
Wah, so good, after 5 years total lost also got 70k? I wanna check if like that really safe. rclxms.gif
By the way, just confirm with you see we getting the same version of manual and service booklet or not?
My got state A member of DRB-Hicom on the cover, is it the same as your?

total lost i mentioned is just example.. hahaha.. ignore it..

for 5 years warranty stated in booklet, its for basic warranty coverage.. there got mentioned about it..

for specific warranty coverage is only power window is 10 years/xxxxxxkm..

then other parts like engine, brake, transmission, is all 36 months or 150000km only.. try look again.. but in first page, many previous users mentioned we will get another 2 years extended warranty from proton. im not sure.. may call to WeCare and ask see afterwards.. i dont care. since their system sure got our record.. why care about this..
*
sorry, it's my mistake.
it state 36 months or 100k km for engine and transmission.

Isn't yours covered by 3 yrs free service?

Since you are doing your 1st K service, then you just bought your cars in the past few weeks and thus entitled to the free 3 yrs service. No?

Cheerio.
*
3 years free service is not totally free.
Proton will give you a series of voucher that enough you to use for 3 years
for the 1st service voucher worth RM95, if I'm not wrong it's enough for lowest grade engine oil only.

include reduce vibration as well.

My friend did it on his 4x4 car since that kind of car are well known with loud noise and vibration. He said improve a lot , he barely hear or feel the vibrate inside the car. Wind noise is decreased as well

So i was wondering whether any suprima s / preve users did this and have any changes/improvement

I found lot of DIY sound proofing items in Lelong.
Not sure got function or not, but it's much cheaper I think.

Hi, my preve experience 2 known issue.

1. Helicopter brake sound, does it safe? could I continuous drive on highway until 1k service? While book appointment, need to let them know first?
For this issue, I know could let SC to check or replace disc brake.
2. Third brake light vibrate sound, it's quite significant while the road is not smooth.
For this issue, I know is one of the known issue of Preve, but didn't found any solution? Any one got idea? SC could solve it?

Thanks a lot.

By the way, just sharing my owning experience of Preve Manual EXEC for past 1 week.

Manual Transmission
The manual transmission is quite class, I like the feel while switching gear. But the only downside is 1st gear acceleration seem quite slow maybe due to the heavy body. The engine roaring sound is there, but quite acceptable for me.
Suspension
It's consider a hard type suspension, similliar to Civic type but not altis/camry those soft type. So depends on your preference, for me I'm quite enjoy driving Preve, from 100KM/H you can notice a little wind sound and tire sound, while 110KM/H, the engine still maintains in 2.5k RPM so the roaring sound is not there. Got to highlight for the handling, 110KM/H is really stable in Preve.

Erm... act I'm not driving my preve daily so will update more again especially for Manual transmission.

Please correct me if anything wrong.
THanks.
