Just got myself the Philips BDM4065UC. But forgot to check my HD5870 graphics card. The GC can only support DP 1.1, therefore cannot drive the monitor to 4K @ 60Hz, only 30Hz currently.
I will upload come photo of the monitor setup later today. But man, this is a giant. Cannot see myself going back to a smaller monitor. |

Sorry if this is a stupid question:
My games run at 40-60fps. What do I gain if I get a 144Hz screen? |

QUOTE(limadekad @ Apr 2 2016, 11:48 AM) nah, i'm looking to buy 1080p >30" monitor but those available are at 4k reso. Heh heh heh. Buy lah the 4K >30" monitor. You can still run 1080P on 4K monitor until new GC comes out. But if you buy 1080P now, trust me when you upgrade GC, then you will say the monitor don't justify the GC upgrade. Still end up having to change monitor. Plus if if you get 4K monitor, you can test run games at 1440P or 2160P. Not necessarily have 4K monitor, you need to run all your games at 4K. I run most of the game I play at either 3840 x 1620 or 2560 x 1080 if the game supports 21:9 format. If buy 4k reso then upgrade gc. Then after 2 months new card become available have to buy gc again. |

Suggestion needed.
Cause: I am using Y50 UHD model with GTX860m. Due to its 15" 4K resolution, many proprietary software are not displayed properly. In the end I have to disable the scaling on high DPI which ends up everything in the software UI appeared too small. Thus I would ask you guys which is the most recommended monitor to buy (preferably at 1920x1080 resolution, 22" to 24" widescreen) Affordable but with reliable quality and user experience needed. |

My U2412M which was bought around August 2011 stopped getting signal via DVI. It was working earlier about 5:45PM before I went out, then I shut down computer and came back around 7PM but there are no signal as if no cable was connected. I then tried another DVI which was connection to my main monitor U2713H and it didn't work. I swapped the DVI port on my computer too but still no signal.
I then tried the alternative VGA port and it worked instead! Is it possible to repair just the DVI port? Well, this was bought in 2011 and it is out of warranty now. |
