Sorry if this is a stupid question:
My games run at 40-60fps. What do I gain if I get a 144Hz screen?

Hi guys,

Do you know any monitor that

- comes with built-in speaker

AND

- two HDMI ports or one HDMI + one DisplayPort?

Thank you.

I hope I'm asking at the right place, sorry if I'm not.
*
Dell S2716DG Speaker(signal only)+HDMI+DP but no built in speaker, but there's audio out jack on it

Guys, what's your thought on budget Dell monitors? In my office, there are hundreds of Dell lcd monitors with various quality. These are the cheapest 17"-19" model you can find online. Some are ok, some have extremely cold (blueish) color, some have weird focusing issue, etc. These problems cannot be fixed via OSD control. The variations are just too much across all the units.

no. certain angle is blur. like if i shift screen up, the top screen will blurry and bottom is clear.
so i believe is the viewing angle we talking about?
*
I don't think TN panel can cause blurry text at certain angle. Color shift - yes, it is very obvious.
Maybe it's the display coating that causes the blur? hmm.gif

Just wanna share this (hope you guys are not that stupid):
https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comme...27_144hz_1440p/

Make sure you have a DP source before buying a DP monitor.

Bought this “broken” ASUS ROG Swift 27” 144hz 1440p Monitor on eBay for $200. The seller couldn’t get a signal on it. Turns out it wasn’t broken, the seller just didn’t know how to work it.

When I saw it, I did some googling and apparently these are very finicky about the input you use. It only has a DisplayPort input. But your drivers have to be just right, and you can’t just plug a PlayStation or something into it. It has to be a PC.

Q: I need more details. What did you do to it?
A: I took it out of the box, and plugged it in to my computer

Fast Response, Fluid Motion
Upgrade your gameplay with the latest features. A 1ms response time* and low input lag allow smoother, real-time action. VRR and ALLM supported on HDMI 2.1 deliver the best graphics with minimal stutter at the fastest speeds.

No mention of 144Hz and FreeSync. doh.gif
But is it OK to use OLED for gaming monitor? I've seen many Samsung phones with burnt OLED. puke.gif I do own an OLED display (the super tiny one on my HMZ-T2). While the black is to die for, I'm more worried about burn-in when OLED is used as a day-to-day productivity and gaming screen.

Anyway, without a budget you'll end up with super expensive suggestions here tongue.gif

No, but being it's a low end phone (likely with a lower quality panel) I was still surprised by the fact it still hasn't have burn in tongue.gif

I use it for about 6 - 7 hours per day so your mileage will vary icon_idea.gif

I'm sure you're referring to SOT, not 1 time non-stop marathon 6 hrs.

I know some people actually gets tired of panel lottery and went straight to OLED or even a high-end CRT considering buying gaming monitors these days are pretty much a lottery (either you are lucky and get a proper panel, or having to return your monitor because it has backlight bleed/IPS glow/yellow tint issues),  sweat.gif
*
Yeah. Bought my S2716DG on lottery too. Cukur, no backlight bleed/IPS glow/yellow tint issues.

But seriously if you have the money you should really just forget getting LCDs and go OLED instead brows.gif

Will buy OLED in the future, but 4K RTX rendering is still painfully slow today. Perhaps another 5 years for 4k 144fps to be common. tongue.gif
