Hi guys, looks like after around 4 years my dell u2312hm dies on me or maybe just the power button because its not responsive and no light whatsoever. The fuse inside the plug doesnt look burned out, and changing the plug location to another good slot didnt work.

When I bought it here in garage sale it got 5 years warranty (bought sept 2012). Just call the general support number for warranty right? Anyone done this before? Any serial number or some kind of number to be given to them? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: called dell this morning, got to an agent after like 10+ minutes, i really hope the replacement is soon seeing the guy on call said mine got parts/monitor available. Just prepare your oder number and serial number. Apparently mine was a business purchase and transferred accordingly to the dept.

hi guys,

so im looking to go for 4k at 28" and ive narrowed down to samsung u28e590d and xb281hk.

the samsung is 18xx-19xx with shipping, but someone is selling a new xb281hk for 21xx shipped to jb here in gs@lyn.

im not into gaming, just looking to start enjoying 4k on general pc use and maybe in a few years time enjoy light gaming. im green camp, so having gsnyc is a plus. however is the 21xx price for the xb281hk too cheap? not sure if trustable since seller is not the standard reputable ones.

Size: 24inch and more
Ports: Any
Panel: I don know which one better. Mind explaining?

Haha I thought I already updated my previous post .Yeah, dell replaced it the next day and been using it. But the replacement turned a bit yellowish/bright when gaming, apparently it is a known issue for this monitor. The yellowish might be a lot more pronounced when youre playing in windowed mode. And the power button feels uneven when pushed, better put my whole fingertip when turning it on. sweat.gif . Using custom icc profile from tftcentral helps for video or normal use but not gaming since it reverts to default so the yellow/bright issue is back.

Dear sifus, need some advice on purchasing a 2nd monitor. The monitor is mainly for watching videos and browsing. Currently have a Dell U2312hm already as my main. I mean, I don't mind if it is good enough I can game with it as well, but I'm assuming my Dell is better suited for that?

Criterias:
22-23 inches
1080p Full HD IPS
RM400-500

Been doing some research and found:

Acer R231 RM 499
and
Viewsonic VX2363Smhl RM 549

Both on lazada for those prices. Can get 10% off using UOB and lazada app if order today.

Any comments on the difference? Which is the best bang for my buck? Would appreciate your input. Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

Regarding Dell monitors, i have personally used and seen these 24" models. ST2420L, S2440L & U2412M. Best would be U2412M nicer sharper display & slightly taller than standard 24". Although already died on 4th year. I hate S2440L cause of glossy finish & text is blurry.
The recent Acer models are not bad as well imho.
But tested not on games or video, but graphic editing.

Anyone here bought Dell U2715H before? What is the lowest price you can get? I called to Dell because not published at website...

The sales agent told me that if I am serious and confirm wanna buy he can quote me further discounts... so I am just trying to check market on best price obtained so far... thanks!

Not yet but planning to get from garage sales..

Why this model instead of other cheaper models in eBay? Because of the slight matte surface, which is less glossy than other panels which are super glossy. A monitor that's glossy is a super no no for me.

i myself can go either way, but matte is always preferred. any way, while they are cheap, warranty would be a super hassle. bangwall.gif

with koonghx? nice bro biggrin.gif

i've read a few reviews and the a409 is very similar with the philips 40" but better picture quality and newer connectivity options. i think the panel is the same on both.

One big difference is how glossy the Philips TV is vs the slightly anti glare AMH A409U. Anti glare is my most important criteria in a monitor so a lot of monitors are out of my list already biggrin.gif
