Actually asking this is like asking if we prefer chocolate or vanilla ice cream. It really really is up to the taste. Both are great choices for a home. I'd be more focused on working on the interior design of the place now.

Whatever it is wooden floors are a must for me on the first floor! rclxm9.gif That will be the very first thing I will do before moving in even!

A great test would be to place a webcam at the house and as soon as it rains I wanna come there fast2 and check for leaks.

There seems to be a lot of glass windows on the ground floor. Do you intent to put all grill especially the one near the front door wall. Nowadays people don't feel safe without grill blink.gif

Besides the door, there still big glass around the glass door. On top of the front wall, there are one whole stretch of glass as well. hmm.gif

been thinking the same thing too and i have a few things in my mind..

1 - basic grill (would be really basic, just some bars or something)
2 - secure screen (expensive)
3 - invisible grille (not sure if applicable to the small windows there)
4 - take out the whole window there and do full wall (would be dark i think)
5 - cover up with something like the ceiling board. From outside looks like normal window (tinted black) and from inside looks like a normal wall without windows...

How about security tint?

My thought is the fencing may required to do some minor modification for security purpose, just feel like to is high enough and thieve will still able to climb and entering the house compound.

If not mistaken, security tint will be good enough to last for few hit with big force but not sharp object. It is useless and still easy to get in as compare to grill. Any other better suggestion?

Fencing high will never high enough, unless you build it like a prison. cry.gif So are you expected to stay in prison instead of home. sweat.gif

get good security, then we won't have to uglify our house so much. Pray and get good countermeasures. Rig with alarm system to detect window breaking.

the problem is our house don't have the panic button which is link directly to the guard house. If only localised home alarm, grille looks like is necessary...

Not. It wont help. It only help when u r at home and need help emergency. Actually, the most scariest moment is during you and your family life at knife point. So i think panic button is kinda important. The other way is to hooked up your house alarm to panic button if they provice. But nuisance alarm will also annoy to the guard

Completely agree. Alarm is a must when you are in. While away, alarm really do not serve any purpose.
