Same thing happened to me this morning.
Officer told me I already earn alot from the cashback, WTF?
And this is my primary payment card where I pay most of my stuff!
Told them I'm cancelling and they said ok, wow.
Cutting my platinum cash back now.

That's why I only apply for CC that has no annual fee, or easy condition like 12 swipes in a year. Can't be bothered to call and beg for waiver. For Citibank, only Choice card has no annual fee. Go for that. smile.gif. I only use Citibank card for discounts at restaurants anyway.

I really do not understand. Why some people want to beg for annual fee waiver every year? There are so many free for life credit cards out there.

It is better to cancel Citibank credit cards and apply for local banks credit cards. Why give business to a foreign bank that obviously treats its customers like beggars?

Had the same case last year. They told I earned a lot from cashback. Explained me the features of the card bla bla bla. I told him I know all that, no need to tell me. Waiver or no waiver? No.

Then I told them I don't want to have anything to do with Citibank anymore as there are many cards out there for me as a consumer.

Most of the time I saw aunty them use citibank credit card when making payment in Jusco...

I assuming bank is targeting old generation probably they only know limited credit card detail in market and as long as they are feel happy with their service, no point to change again. Imagining if a person who use it since long time ago.

I don't think they wanna to change it. But this is different from working adult

I agree. Imagine my surprise when I found out one of my uncle has been paying the annual fee for years...until i told him can try to call asking for waiver.

usually there will be additional 5% on top of your remaining loan amount.
call cs to get the exact amount and to confirm with them the closure of your dial for cash..

I decided to cancel my citibank cc as well. I went to nearest shop to spend all my points before proceed for cancellation. Then I found out citibank points is 400 points=RM1, which I think is really ridiculous (0.025%). Some local bank is 200 points=RM 1 which is the double of citibank and it is lifelong AF free. Citibank offer 5x rewards on groceries is totally ridiculous after knowing their point exchange system.

If you decide to terminate any of these services, all you need to do is:

- Settle the total outstanding principal
- Pay a termination fee of 5% of the total outstanding principal

Just called citibank to confirm on this....unfortunately yes, one person will assigned a credit limit by Bank Negara and every credit card bank issuer can oni share within this pool of credit limit

If one bank offer high credit limit which ultilising all the quota....means other bank cannot approve ur credit card anymore or with low CL
